Question Of The Day

Given that, due to Walker's purposeful sabotaging of the call center, the State of Wisconsin felt compelled to take it over, wouldn't it have been more appropriate to have called Monday's speech "The State (Takeover) of the County?".

  1. Right, the takeover was about incompetence, and not political posturing. If there was a problem with the Call Centers for such a long time, then why didn't the state fund them a little better?

  2. Are you saying that Doyle filed the class action lawsuit against himself, just to score a couple of political points?

The Call center had adequate funding. The question is why Walker didn't take the money allotted to fill those positions to actually fill those positions.

  3. How do you know they had adequate funding? Have you ever managed a Call Center before?

  4. Because I attended the County Board's budget hearing. It has also been well reported that there were 25 fully funded positions, but Walker filled less than half of them.

It would go to follow that if you increase staffing by 150%, you would have at least that much more production. Probably more because you wouldn't have the burnout that understaffing causes. Look at the problems that the House of Correction and the Mental Health Complex has had due to their understaffing.
