Is WIN About To Lose?

The ironically and misappropriately named Wisconsin Interests Now is the right wing version of ACORN, and has teamed up with equally ironically and misappropriately named Citizens for Responsible Government to launch a second recall effort against Governor Jim Doyle.

This foolishness has at best been met with a tepid response, if not spoken against by some leading conservative bloggers.

It appears that WIN/CRG is about to self-implode, which will only boost Governor Doyle's standings, and hurt Scott Walker's, given his close ties to CRG.

Zach has the details on their pending implosion.

  1. Do you mean the ACORN that engages in vote fraud on behalf of Dems? The same ACORN that is under investigation in several states? The same ACORN that receives $BILLIONS from the government? What planet are you on? Whatever else you might say about WIN, it is NOTHING like ACORN, it is a true citizen grassroots group, barely funded by small individual contributions. Suggest you check your facts before making such absurd and outrageous comments.

You're absolutely right. ACORN is about helping people. WIN is not.

  4. Their most famous (or infamous) role is getting out the vote. They also police themselves and are the ones that have turned in their own workers that have falsified registration cards.

The also do community advocacy and have helped clean up neighborhoods, help poor people get food, clothes, furniture, etc.

The list goes on and on.

WIN on the other hand is merely a political front group.

  5. I do concede that they are certainly famous for getting out the vote, and they're VERY good at it. Not many organizations (the Chicago machine being one exception) are as good at getting votes from vacant lots, dead people, and pet dogs. You bet they turn their own people, making them sacrificail lambs to deflect the heat from themselves. In my opinion, they are a criminal organization, and evidently more than a few attorneys general agree that is a strong possibilty.

  6. So you're saying that WIN wouldn't turn in their wrongdoers? Thanks for the clarification.

  7. What's wrong with WIN only being out there to oust crappy politicians? They have a very specific focus. And they're not shy about what they are about.

Descent is a very patriotic quality.

  8. I guess by saying that WIN is a right wing version of ACORN means it really isn't ACORN. With the relentless efforts of the rad right to slash the safety net, ACORN helps empower poor people.

Been to New Orleans? The poverty there is oppressive and grinding. God knows what these people would do there without the help of organizations like ACORN.

Bob King from ACORN and former chair of the Madison Common Council was on Neal Cavouto a while back and literally nailed it on the issue of saving mortgages for the underclass.
