Abele Attacks Dimitrijevic On Her Salary On Equal Pay Day

Tuesday was Equal Pay Day for women and it was revealed that women still make only 77 cents to every dollar a man makes in the same job.

Also on Tuesday, JSOnline published an article which not only highlighted hypocrisy and duplicity of Milwaukee County the Emperor Executive Chris Abele, but also showed a certain level of misogyny:

"I don't find any meaningful inconsistency," Abele said. The 2003 report "even mentioned a part-time board." He said Dimitrijevic's real concern about the bill was it would mean a cut in her pay.

"Look, I'm sympathetic," Abele said. "Marina (Dimitrijevic) gets paid a certain amount of money to do this job and this bill would change that. Let's be clear, that's what she's upset about." Dimitrijevic's $71,412 pay as chairwoman could drop by half, if the bill passes and voters agreed.

Dimitrijevic said Abele's remark was "very disappointing," especially on National Equal Pay Day for women.

It would also be worth noting that Abele is a multimillionaire so $30,000 or $40,000 is nothing to him, but it is a significant amount of money for most people. It should be also noted that Abele has never once offered to cut his pay. In fact, he has given huge raises to most of his staff, making Scott Walker's generosity to his cronies look skimpy.

Like I said, he is a major hypocrite - another trait he shares with Walker.
