Uline Inc announced an expansion and future job creation of up to 500 Wisconsinites!
Thank God that Mary Burke had the foresight as a Commerce Secretary to help bring Uline to Wisconsin!
In January 2008, a couple of months after Mary Burke exited, Uline officials announced they were moving the corporate headquarters from Waukegan, Ill., to Pleasant Prairie and building a warehouse there. Uline said it would invest $100 million and employ 1,000 people at its 200-acre campus, which opened in mid-2010.It was not surprising at all to see Scott Walker at Uline for the announcement, with a tied race and a failed jobs agenda, he needs to grab as much credit as he can, even if it doesn't go to him.
To help pay for the move, the company took state government incentives that were later calculated to be worth up to $18.6 million over nine years.
May I suggest a better use of the Governor's time? I would suggest that instead of chasing Mary Burke's successes around the state, he head up to Superior, WI to collect on the $4,000,000 Wisconsin taxpayer dollars that he handed Kestrel Aircraft Company, that they defaulted on.
Public education could sure use those $4 million dollars now!
Here is another suggestion. Voucher schools do not get a cent from public education budget, instead they can keep all of the money they can collect from the millions of dollars in defaulted loans that the failed WEDC has handed out!
I was curious to know who is Ryan Murray, chief job creator. He has no business experience. But Murray has worked for disgusting right wing politicians with questionable ethics.
ReplyDeleteThen there is Murray’s conflict of interest as a Member of the Board of Directors for Brightstar Wisconsin Foundation, which “accepts charitable donations as a 501(c)(3) organization and uses them to take equity positions in for-profit early-stage companies.” WEDC gave Brightstar $300,000. How much profit is going into Murray’s pockets as a member of the Board?
The explanation on Brightstar’s website about this conflict of interest does not pass the smell test.
I never knew about the Brightstar thing. Remember that a lot of John Doe Deux and the United Sportsmen scandals related to 501-c-3s laundering money from GOP higher-ups.
ReplyDeleteWe know Murray didn't get his high-paying gig due to his business experience, since he has none.
Didn't Uline claim that no state money was needed in the move to WI.
ReplyDeleteAll the better fer scottie -- he can shake them down for big booofo for BOTH his 14 and then 16 campaign!
DeleteDING! DING! DING! If you don't think that "jobs announcement" wasn't one large payback scheme, you're kidding yourself. And at taxpayer expense, no less
Deleteyes they claimed no state money for this little announcement but Uihlein had his hand out when Mary Burke was Commerce Secretary and she filled his pockets so he could move to WI.
DeleteAny jobs that come here now are a direct result of Mary Burkes actions when she was in Government
Thanks for not slandering and insulting Mary Burke -- no one else stepped up to run -- she did.
ReplyDeleteWhether she is capper's wet dream or not, this website has been far too negative in the past. Capper can be very narcissistic and self-centered in his posts (not always).
The attitude that, "we told you so" is not going to be helpful after the November election.
Yep, you're a troll. And a lame one at that.
Deleteyou're a blog whore -- if I wanted to read your crap, I'd visit your little blog or the virtually invisible/non-rec'd versions copied and pasted to kos.
DeleteActually, others have stepped up to run. Your lies are not going to be helpful before or after November.
ReplyDeleteno one stepped up to run other than vinehout that withdrew and hulsey -- your lies are not helpful.
DeleteAnd neither is whining about the only credible candidate to come forward.
Barca and others you have suggested are MISSING IN ACTION!
But you'd rather scream, "Nah nah nah nah, I told you so!"
Come November, we're going to need all the blog whores, lame trolls, flame-throwers, and left-leaning anybodies to pull together and vote to deny Walker a re-election victory.
ReplyDeleteThat wouldn't be good for Wisconsin, as we all here already know.
What's worse is that, with all the money the Koch Machine is willing to spend on him, a win in November makes Walker a viable candidate for President.
We can agree that no one here wants to see that happen.

I agree (to a point), but you realize that "Anonymous" poster isn't a Dem and won't be voting for Burke. He's just trying to distract from the excellent point that WEDC is run by hacks and is a corrupt failure.
DeleteThere'll be more of these types as the race goes on, and things get dicier and dicier for Walker.
