Last month, BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg showed his compassion by complaining about the "small people" that live on the Gulf. This was following BP CEO Tony Hayward whining about wanting his life back.
Ron Johnson, who bought his way to be the leading Republican candidate for the privilege to lose to Senator Russ Feingold, came out with a number of comments defending BP, and criticizing a fund that BP is paying into to help those whose livelihoods have been destroyed with the ecosystem as their well keeps pouring out oil.
But it turned out not to be just a conservative talking point after all. It is really because RoJo owns hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of BP stock. With all the bad rep that BP is getting, that could affect the stock's worth, and then what would the poor multimillionaire do?
I'd rather have a senator doing what he thought was right for the people in Wisconsin and in America over one that was more concerned over his stock portfolio.
For your viewing pleasure: BP fixed the leak.
