Republican Thugs - Blogger Edition

By Jeff Simpson

A Columnist, Claire Van Fossen, at Purple WI recently wrote a blog about - "what if we had a world without police".

I admire Ms. Van Fossen's idealism but she must not be aware that we were living in the Scott Walker Republican Thug era.   Where Divide and conquer is the name of the game.

As long as Scott Walker and others like him, are able to rally the hatred that has been simmering and boiling on the right, we need police to protect us    Ms. Van Fossen found that out the hard way.  Ms. Van Fossen received a plethora of hate mail from Conservatives
Republican thugs.  Including this gem:

Just another violence and hate filled threat from the republican thugs in Wisconsin when someone dared have an opinion they disagreed with.   TGFSW.

On any given day, I would say Progressive bloggers get more hate mail than our Governor does and the biggest difference is we can document ours.

The President Hunter

By Jeff Simpson

Apparently we have come out with the sequel to the important 70's film the Deer Hunter.  The Deer Hunter is explained as:

An in-depth examination of the ways in which the U.S. Vietnam war impacts and disrupts the lives of people in a small industrial town in Pennsylvania.

The sequel being made before our eyes is a called The President Hunter and stars our very own Scott Walker.   The President Hunter can best be described this way:

An in-depth examination of the ways in which, the absolute lust to be President by their Governor, impacts and disrupts the lives of people in a small Midwestern state - Wisconsin.

Scott Walker, during his "I'm not running but I am really running for President official 2015 National Tour", likes to tell a story.

Scott Walker, on tele-town hall, tells Iowans about death threats: "gut my wife like a deer," and "be the 1st WI gov to be assassinated."— Jennifer Jacobs (@JenniferJJacobs) February 3, 2015
I think we can all agree that who ever said anything about "gutting Tonette like a deer" is one sick f&ck and needs to be arrested and hospitalized.   The person who would say that needs serious serious help.

What I believe we disagree on is who exactly said that.

See it is out in the public and a story told and retold numerous times.  So someone had to originally say it.   The problem is there is overwhelming evidence that the person who actually said that was ---
SCOTT WALKER.

Mr. Walker has never ever produced this message in any form, anywhere.   Mr. Walker also has a history of lying about his dangerous situation that protesters have put him in, that would make Bill O' Reilly proud.

Add to that a recent AP story that the Justice Department admitted that there is are current death threat investigations regarding Scott Walker.

Madison - The Wisconsin Department of Justice has no open investigations into death threats against Gov. Scott Walker, the agency said Monday after Walker's office released more than 100 pages of emails and other documents showing perceived threats made against him over the past two years.
Walker's office released 116 pages of documents Friday following an open records request from The Associated Press.
Anything perceived by Walker's staff to be a threat was saved and referred to law enforcement, said Walker's assistant legal counsel, Teri Hatchell, in a letter accompanying the records. Hatchell said the records were released after consulting with law enforcement to ensure doing so would not jeopardize any investigations.
Department of Justice spokeswoman Dana Brueck said the agency has no open investigations.
Walker's spokesman declined to comment.
Most of the threats in the documents provided to AP come from shortly after Walker took office in 2011, when the Republican governor's proposal to effectively end collective bargaining rights for most public workers resulted in massive protests that lasted weeks. The most recent email was from February 2012.
The threats came in the form of emails, letters and tips from Walker backers pointing to postings on websites such as Facebook.
The records include about 65 messages, including at least 25 from the same person.
That person sent insulting emails to Walker but also left his telephone number.
The Department of Justice previously released details of threats it investigated that were made against Walker and state lawmakers.
Only one case where a person made threats against Walker or lawmakers has led to charges in Dane County. In that case, a Cross Plains woman emailed death threats to 15 Republican state senators in 2011. She pleaded guilty to making a bomb threat and was placed in a first-offenders program.
D'oh!

If Governor Scott Walker can produce and does the message stating that someone actually said that about Tonette, I promise a full apology and correction to the story.   I do not foresee that happening.

If Governor Walker can not, which many suspect and the evidence is overwhelming, then he is truly one twisted individual, to say this about his wife in order to get more support from his base.

In my mind it would be a lie where people should demand immediate resignation from his position,

What will it be Governor, will you show us who actually made this threat to your wife, or is your silence on this topic the answer we need?

Clarke: Law Enforcement For Me, Not For Thee

Milwaukee Sheriff has had some long standing advice for Milwaukee County citizens when it comes to what to do about crime - don't call on him.  He used taxpayer money to take out a series of commercials telling people not to rely on law enforcement but to get their own guns and become a bunch of vigilantes.

The only thing he forgot to tell people was that the message was given to him by the NRA which is a proud supporter of the Republicratic sheriff.

But the sheriff is obviously one of those "do as I say not as I do" type of people.

When he gets a death threat, he runs to the FBI:
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke says he received an email threat on Saturday.  Clarke said in a statement the person used a racial slur and threatened his security.

He emailed Newsradio 620's Charlie Sykes adding the FBI is investigating the threat because the sender tried to conceal his or her identity by blocking the IP address.  Clarke argues this shows the person is serious, writing, "For me to not push back aggressively on this would be foolish. I don't play macho man with threats especially racially motivated ones.  I will not wait for some goof to act on their threats."
I'm glad to see that Clarke is taking the threat seriously. Even though I don't support Clarke, I don't want to see harm fall to anyone.  There is no place for this sort of behavior in politics.

I'm also glad to see that Clarke is smart enough to not take his own advice.

Of course, this is the same sheriff that has a contingency of deputies that escort him around, including trips around the country.

Apparently, the only thing that Clarke is good at shooting off is his mouth.

Of Wingers, Rhetoric and Hypocrisy

The right wing sites, including the usual suspects of the Cheddarsphere is all abuzz about what Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. allegedly said at a Labor Day Rally in Michigan.  They are jumping all over Hoffa's line of "let's take these sons of bitches out and give America back to America where we belong,:" and claiming it as an example of "union thugs" and calls for violence.

They hypocrisy of their faux outrage is breathtaking.

First off all, the spin is more than a little false. It turns out the speech they're getting their undies in a bundle about was highly edited by Faux News (no word if the final footage included palm trees).  When one looks at the entire segment of speech, Hoffa was referring to taking them out at the election box.

Secondly, if you look through the commentary of most right wing blogs, including the cited usual suspects, you'll see just as bad if not worse.

Indeed, if you look at a certain comment left at a post that Daddio29 wrote on Saturday, you would find this love note addressed to me:

The criminal investigation the troll is referring to is the political retaliation that CRG (Criminal Republican Goons) tried to do to last year, in a failed effort to get me to shut up, accusing me of blogging on county time on county computers on Labor Day, Memorial Day and other sorted time off.  This was proven to be false and they had to use falsified evidence to even get it that far.

But the best part is the You Tube link, which leads to an audio clip of a shotgun firing.  (BTW, that's the second threat that troll has left for me, but who's counting?)

An interesting aspect about Daddio leaving that death threat up is that he did remove a post from the troll which included a couple of racist slurs in it.

In a winger's depraved mind, even they have a subtle idea of right versus wrong, or at least have learned to avoid the consequences of being revealed as a racist.  Unfortunately, they haven't evolved too much since they are more concerned about the perceived threat of violence where none exist as opposed to a direct death threat, which they are absolutely comfortable with, as long as they have the Republicans Golden Rule* to fall back on.

*The Republican Golden Rule: It's Only OK If A Republican Does It (IOOKIARDI).
