Free Market Strikes In Green Bay

By Jeff Simpson

Karma bides it’s time. You will always have to watch out. Karma is unforgiving and always gets payback.– Benjamin Bayani
Jerry Bader, the right wing hate talker from Green Bay, who has a career of racism, sexism and flat out lies, was let go from his daily spewing hatred radio show.

While Bader says it is because he is a never trumper, the reality is he is a small fish in a big pond and always thought of himself as a Muskie.

His perpetual attempts to be a poor mans Charlie Sykes, turned out to be more worthy of pity than audience share.

In an era where businesses are cutting costs and employees, one where Republicans like to tout the free market when hundreds get laid off, was bitten by the same bug that has brought him so much joy these last few years.

His radio show was boring stale and unimaginative.  While his old employer still has hate talkers, Rush, Levin and Hannity are still being played on the airwaves, the station does not have to provide them with insurance, benefits or expenses.

The free market in action.

When Charlie Sykes defends you, there is nothing else that needs to be said!
Charlie Sykes‏
@SykesCharlie
Bader was a courageous, principled voice, who refused to join other talkers on Trump train despite threats from management. #Respect
Bader has another job. he works for Mediatrackkkers(which is part of the wing nut welfare system of WI).   In the history of their ridiculous blog, no one who has written for them has ever had even an inkling of principle.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

Justice today, was served!

The Noose Is Loose

By Jeff Simpson

The Trump effect is in full effect in Wisconsin.  At the Wisconsin Badgers football game on Saturday night, someone snuck a costume in to the game of President Obama in a jail uniform and a noose.

Apparently when they saw these lunatics in the crowd, they went and asked them nicely toremove the noose.  The men agreed, and removed the noose but kept everything else the same.

That is not ok, nor is it covered by the first amendment.   The response should have been stronger and more sever, and many people let them know that.

The Reverend Alex Gee penned an open letter to the UW:

Free speech?! Ok, then allow me to speak freely...
I find it difficult to express the depth of my disappointment with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. If this is not hate speech ... a costume of a black president in a noose, then what is?!
Do I need to remind UW of what the noose represents? But wait, the UW has noted departments and courses in Afro-American studies (this was my department), history, sociology, ethnic studies, ethics, social work, law, religious studies, etc., which are able to explain the horrors of the noose.
           -------------
This speech isn’t free by a long shot. I witnessed the community of families of color, local and out-of-state, refuse to send their kids to Madison because of the mock slave auction. I was there! That snub is one from which the UW has not yet fully recovered.
Take it from a veteran UW promoter, the nation is watching to see if this is a place where diversity is celebrated, or where racist acts are allowed without serious consequences. This issue is no longer merely about the comfort of students of color, it is now about the comfort of white families wanting their students to attend college where diversity is breathed like fresh air and young minds are trained for world-class leadership.
Are we really going to hide behind the free-speech rhetoric?
As a proud alumnus, it had been my hope that the Wisconsin Idea would provoke old-fashioned Wisconsin ingenuity in the area of race relations and diversity much as it has in social policy, patents and life-enhancing innovation.
........
Please, do not call your black friends to commiserate in private. If you really value diversity and the souls of people of color — do something. If you think this is appalling, say so — to someone at UW. This is a time where white people need to talk to white people about what’s really going on here. You can email Chancellor Rebecca Blank at: chancellor@news.wisc.edu, and email Athletic Director Barry Alvarez at wjd@athletics.wisc.edu.
The ball is in your court. I am not interested in more panel discussions, photo-ops or quick-and-dirty community forums in South Madison where you listen to heartfelt concerns and do very little in return.
This issue cannot be delegated to a few staff of color. It is not fair to hold them responsible for the campus when the entire campus is not yet committed to the ideals of diversity and inclusion. The community needs to know that this issue is being handled by the UW at the highest executive level and that resources of time and money are being put towards changing the toxic climate on campus.
Your action will determine how we tell our story about you. This is a perfect opportunity for a great Wisconsin Idea that will once again inspire the world. And if you choose to not make significant change at a very deep level, you will not only have angered a black man, you will have lost a fan.
Typically, our friends on the right, such as racist joke telling, old white guy in Green Bay Jerry Bader writes,

As offensive as this costume was, I believe our university must resist the desire to outlaw forms of speech and political dissent with which we disagree. We strive to build a campus community in which ideas and expression are exchanged freely, but also constructively, respectfully and in a manner that advances educational opportunities for our students.
Almost immediately social media lit up with the type of political polarity we’d expect from such an episode. Many posters felt the image of an African-American in a noose, let alone the President of the United States, should have meant outright ejection from the stadium. Others felt it was a violation of free speech rights to even take the noose. Here are words you won’t read or hear from me very often: I think the university got this exactly right.
As has been correctly pointed out, prospective UW Students are closely watching to see how we handle this situation.  It has not been handled correctly yet, but it is not the least bit surprising that the right wing that has spent the last six years criticizing the UW System would be on board with something that cause our University system to bring in less students of color.

Now is a good time to point out that prominent Republican Senator Steve nASS(R-refuses to pay child support), blasted UW's attempt to increase their diversity programs.

A Republican state senator says a new diversity outreach program at the UW-Madison is “sinister.”
Sen. Steve Nass made the comment in reaction to UW-Madison announcing its plans to improve the experiences of minorities on the flagship campus. The plan calls for having new students discuss social differences, a new cultural center for black students and increased opportunities to take ethnic studies courses.
Nass is vice-chair of the Senate’s committee on universities.
Nass said university leaders “constantly complain about lacking money” but “they never lack money for advancing new and more sinister ways of liberal indoctrination of students.”
He said the initiative isn’t about advancing critical thinking, but about “telling students to think and act in ways approved by the liberal leadership of our universities.”
Still trying to confirm if that is Steve nASS in the Trump Costume, but we need to find out the person who we can see identities first.  If you know who this is and how to contact him, please let us know(anonymously if need be) - jeff_simpson7@yahoo.com.

Who Should Apologize?

By Jeff Simpson

In the last four years, the republican party of Wisconsin has focused on Suppressing minority and poor votes to the tune of over $1,000,000 Wisconsin taxpayer dollars, which would effectively take the vote away from more than 300,000 Wisconsinites. They had already hindered minority access to the polls.

The John Birch Society is not only making a comeback, its based in Wisconsin AND their leader is a big player in the republican party!

Party leader and former republican Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan (R-Wall St.) has not only blamed his loss on minorities voting but called a whole race and culture lazy.

We have a long term elderly white State Senator whose made a career of fighting Kwanzaa and ending Affirmative Action, whose views apparently have earned him a big promotion.

The WalkerDocs were ingrained with racism throughout including(but definitely NOT limited too) this one:

This morning I went to sign my Dog up for welfare.  At first the lady said, ‘Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare.’ So I explained to her that my Dogs are mixed in color, unemployed, lazy, can’t speak English and have no frigging clue who their Daddy’s are.  They expect me to feed them, provide them with housing and medical care, and feel guilty because they are dogs.  So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify.  My Dogs get their first checks Friday.”

“’This is so true!’ Rindfleisch responded.”

Not many things funnier than comparing welfare recipients to canines.  Let's also not forget the numerous Scott Walker staffers who were known for racist rants!

Charley Sykes has the loudest republican voice in WI and many republicans are regulars on Jerry Bader's radio show.

The Wisconsin republicans also passed a bill, which scaled back a settled law,  allowing whole communities to approve of racism, with their race based high school mascot bill.

The head of national GOP, Reince Priebus, is from WI and was able to move up the ranks of the party by his perpetual voter caging schemes.

Scott Walker himself called Federal Judge Lynn Adelman a racist for NOT rubber stamping his voter suppression bill.

Last, but most certainly NOT least, they are voting this weekend, at their statewide republican convention, to Secede from the rest of the nation.  Apparently they do not feel as though they should be part of a country that elects an African American president.

While I do not approve of Bret Hulsey giving out hoods at the republican convention, I can see where he might have gotten the idea!

However, since not a single issue listed above, ever drew a single apology from our friends on the right(or a demand for apology from the Democratic party), I am at a loss as to how Hulsey's possible silly publicity stunt, would make Democratic Party Chair Mike Tate sprint to the nearest media outlet to apologize to all republicans.

For Context, I recently asked Chairman Tate for a comment when Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke had this to say:

BURKE: "In terms of the fiscal picture, there is no doubt that the first budget that [Walker] introduced and that he implemented significantly improved the financial situation of the state, because the state was coming out of this downturn, in 2008 and 2010, revenues were going down, there were, you know, the structural deficit grew, and basically he got rid of the structural deficit."
Chairman Tate deferred to the campaign, who also refused comment(on the blatantly false statement).    Not to mention that they had Milwaukee County chair Chris Abele as a feature speaker at their recent annual Founders Day Dinner.

I only wish the Democratic party were as quick to defend the workers, lower and middle class and minorities in Wisconsin as they are the republican party.

Science on the Down Low

By Jeff Simpson

In what should NOT be a story:

On Wednesday Rep. Jeffrey Mursau, R-Crivitz, the chair of the Assembly Committee on Environment and Forestry, will co-host a forum with the panel's ranking Democrat, Rep. Fred Clark, D-Baraboo, on the effects of climate change in Wisconsin.

When Rep. Mursau and Rep. Fred Clark decided to get together and have a discussion on the effects of climate change, it seemed innocent enough.

The forum will include testimony from a number of experts, including two UW-Madison climate scientists — Dan Vimont and Galen McKinley — and other environmental experts, such as Michelle Miller, associate director of the UW Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems, and David Liebel, a UW engineering professor who specializes in storm water systems.
"Our goal on this thing is to open the conversation with our colleagues about climate change," says Clark.
In Fitzwalkerstan though, common sense and logic are so 2009.   It seems that having a discussion about climate change and including actual scientists and experts in the discussion is something that is inexcusable.

The right wing noise machine went ballistic, from the racist Brian Sikma to the  racist, sexist, boring Jerry Bader to the shrill, hateful Vicki Mckenna.  All are having a three year old temper tantrum thinking that people might actually learn something during a bipartisan gathering.

In today;s republican party, open minds, compromise and bipartisanship are unwelcome and will be punished!     As prominent as the hate and ignorance is amongst the base and the right wing echo chamber on the right, a lack of backbone is just as prominent in the elected official class.

It is this type of controversy that Clark said he is trying to avoid by keeping the forum, which is not an official committee hearing, off-limits to media and the public.
"Unfortunately some of these extreme tea party groups are really threatening a lot of legislators who might even have an interest in coming to learn about this issue," he said. "This is a briefing for legislators. We want to dial down the expectations or the grandstanding as much as possible."
How sad that when our Legislature is finally discussing one of the most important topics facing mankind, they are forced to do it behind closed doors in private. When people in Wisconsin have an actual opportunity to learn something important and our legislature has a chance to show real leadership, they have to do it on the downlow!

I guess we are relegated to pushing women around and cronies cashing out with taxpayer money as long as Scott Walker and the republicans are in charge of WI!

Charlie Sykes' Racism!

By Jeff Simpson

Capper did an excellent job recently of pointing out what a true racist Charlie Sykes is!

t should not come as a surprise to anyone that Charlie Sykes is a racist.  His show and his blog is full of examples of his race baiting.

Heck, he's so bigoted that he will only let the "right" conservative black writers
publish articles on his latest endeavor, "White Wisconsin."
But even as inured as we are to Sykes' race baiting and bigotry, he went to new lows last Thursday.

On his show, he played the audio for part of this song, which is called "It's Free Swipe Yo EBT."  I must warn the gentle reader that this is most definitely Not Safe  For Work.
The video is full of exaggerated racial stereotyping of black women that one would expect from racists

When called on the carpet for his latest bout of blatant racism, Sykes let everyone know that is who he is and he will be as racist as he wants to be!

Apparently, Captain Fireworks is still bothered that some people would be disgusted by having such a racist with that big of a forum.  He spent the last few days trying to figure out how he could use something the democrats did to justify his disgusting behavior(after all taking personal responsibility is OUT of the question).

The "great" mind(term used loosely) of Sykes was only able to come up with this!

Seriously.

I am not sure if he is telling us that we need to sensor all art that he disagrees with or that because President Obama is friends with Jay-Z, that gives Sykes free reign to do and say whatever disgusting vile thing he feels like!

No wonder WTMJ 620 AM is a sinking ship!

At least Sykes can always fall back on his speaking gigs and book writing to make a living!

O Wait!

No wonder Jerry Bader likes to spout racism and bash gays, he is desperate to get someone to listen to him!

GOP Irony

By Jeff Simpson

Yesterday the Republican party and Reince Priebus, released a detailed report on why they were so handily beaten in the election of 2012 and how to win elections in the future.  As Bob Cesca points out, Priebus seems to place his legacy on this one report:

RNC chairman and Mos Eisley cantina alien Reince Priebus introduced the report over the weekend in time for the conservative cosplay gathering in Maryland, and it sounds as if he’s ballyhooing the plan as the centerpiece of his legacy as chairman. Even though it was authored by Henry Barbour, Sally Bradshaw, Ari Fleischer, Zori Fonalledas, and Glenn McCall, it’s Priebus’ magic wand for fixing everything — I mean everything — that’s devouring the party.
One of the sections is about "demographic partners":

The Republican Party must focus its efforts to earn new supporters and voters in the following demographic communities: Hispanic, Asian and Pacific Islanders, African Americans, Indian Americans, Native Americans, women, and youth. This priority needs to be a continual effort thataffects every facet of our Party’s activities, including our messaging, strategy, outreach, and budget.

Isn't it ironic:

Cesca takes a look at that:

*  During a panel at CPAC titled “Trump the Race Card: Are You Sick and Tired of Being Called a Racist and You Know You’re Not One?” an attendee stood up and, among other things, implied that Frederick Douglass and other former slaves should’ve been grateful to their former masters for providing them with “food and shelter.” Additionally, the attendee, a member of “Towson’s White Student Union,” asked the African American speaker, “Why can’t we just have segregation?” Other attendees applauded and cheered. Yeah, so much for the title of the lecture. Shocker: the Republican Party is loaded with racists.

*   Straight-talking Jersey maverick Chris Christie referred to an African American attendee at a town hall meeting as “boy.” During a contentious exchange about privatizing public schools (Christie supports vouchers — a back-door path to privatization), an black constituent shouted, “Fix the public schools.” Christie, in full dick-move fashion, “Yeah, I hear ya’ boy.”

* lets not forget right here in Wisconsin, they have Jerry Bader:  "How is chess like real life?  It's better to be white and there's only one woman in the room and she get's to do whatever she wants. (belly laughs)."

Then there is the republicans Tom Perez problem:

If you’re just tuning in, Perez is a Hispanic leader and as head of DOJ’s civil rights division one of the Obama administration’s most progressive officials. But in recent years he’s also been the target of racialized attacks by familiar characters in the conservative media.

For both of those reasons, he’s the sort of nominee Republicans can’t help but filibuster. Thus, on the day of its unveiling, the Growth And Opportunity Project faces a major challenge to its own raison d’être. The report notes, “If we want ethnic minority voters to support Republicans, we have to engage them and show our sincerity.”

That’s hard enough to do when the party’s simultaneously filibustering a qualified candidate to be the only Latino in Obama’s second-term cabinet. But it’ll be even harder if the conservative media lapses into another Sotomayor-like spectacle of racial panic and drags elected officials with them.

“In the modern media environment a poorly phrased argument or out-of-context statement can spiral out of control and reflect poorly on the Party as a whole,” the Opportunity Project warns.

Unfortunately for the GOP the right is primed to make Perez another cause célèbre for what you might call the ethnic resentment wing of the conservative movement.

With friends like this, who needs enemies?

CPAC Problems

By Jeff Simpson

The right, that attempts to be somewhat moderate, has a problem that can be spelled out in three letters - CPAC("conservative" political action conference).  The problem is that the CPAC conference is representative of everything the republican party stands for.  From the embrace of angry Islamaphobes, to their disdain for gays to their cries of white oppression.  As Paul Ryan(R-Wall St.) says:

"We don't hide behind our beliefs," Ryan added. "We argue for them, because a budget is more than just a list of numbers; it's an expression of our governing philosophy. And our budget draws a very sharp contrast with the left. It says to the people in unmistakable terms: 'They are the party of shared hardship, we are the part of equal opportunity.'"

While Paul Ryan(R- Wall St.), Jim Sensenbrenner(R-Lance Armstrong is a true hero) and Scott Walker (R - Blind Ambition)  were featured speakers at CPAC.   Also headlining CPAC was K.Carl Smith, who was sponsored by the "Tea Party Patriots"(remember that we recently learned what "patriot" groups stood for).  this breakout session was billed as a "way to reach out to black conservatives". Boy did they!

Disruptions began when he started accusing Democrats of still being the party of the Confederacy — a common talking point on the right.
“I don’t care how much the KKK improved,” he said. “I’m not going to join the KKK. The Democratic Party founded the KKK.”
Lines like that drew shouts of praise from some attendees and murmurs of disapproval from one non-conservative black attendee, Kim Brown, a radio host and producer with Voice of Russia, a broadcasting service of the Russian government.
But then questions and answers began. And things went off the rails.

Yes after the attendees shouted down Ms. Brown , THEN it went off the rails.    The problem was the base was allowed to speak!

30-year-old Scott Terry, asked whether Republicans could endorse races remaining separate but equal. After the presenter, K. Carl Smith of Frederick Douglass Republicans, answered by referencing a letter by Frederick Douglass forgiving his former master, the audience member said “For what? For feeding him and housing him?” Several people in the audience cheered and applauded Terry’s outburst.

After the exchange, Terry muttered under his breath, “why can’t we just have segregation?” noting the Constitution’s protections for freedom of association. Watch it:

After contacting the Walker, Ryan and Sensenbrenner camps we have their official denouncements HERE!

You can not be at an organized event with such dripping racism and NOT denounce it unless of course you agree with it(or need it agree with it to survive politically).

This all shows how Scott Walkers rejection of Federal health care money and Jerry Baders failed attempt to connect with the Scott Terry's of the world and raise his low profile, all fit together.

When you want to continue to advance in today's republican party you need the base support!

The problem is, how do you explain this disgusting behavior when you then have to face the rest of the country?

Karma is a Bitch!

By Jeff Simpson

By now we all know what happened with Graeme Zielinski, he posted a couple tweets where he as trying to point out that Scott Walker spent so much money on his legal defense firm,  that it dwarfed the money spent by our most famous criminal Jeffrey Dahmer.   It was a poor comparison, the righties went crazy and Graeme was demoted!

One of the loudest voices criticizing Graeme was Green Bay right wing radio sqwuaker Jerry Bader.   If you have not heard of Bader, dont feel bad most people have not.   He has never been able to break into "the main club" which consists of the right wing hate triumverate of Sykes/Belling/Pyzinski.   As a matter of fact the only time you probably might have heard of him is when he "factually" made up a story about former Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton's sexuality.   That did not work out so well for him.

So someone who has a history of saying stupid things, jumped all over Graeme's tweet and couldnt stop dancing on his "communications director grave"

This story raises an interesting point: libs are hacked off that Graeme is still drawing a paycheck. That part is really hard to figure, although I have my suspicions. I suspect a legal liability issue is keeping the DPW from terminating him, but I wouldn't go beyond that here.

I also disagree that the difference this time was the Journal Sentinel ran a story. Everybody knew about Graeme Zielinski. The difference is he offended a constituency libs are supposed to care about; the families of crime victims. Libs don't care about Scott Walker and they don't care what Zielinski said about him.

Well the little brother of hate talk radio is at it again,   This time he took time out of confessing his love for Pat Roggensack to let us know what racist and sexist thoughts were in his head!   Double Whammy!

"How is chess like real life?  It's better to be white and there's only one woman in the room and she get's to do whatever she wants. (belly laughs)."
Apparently republicans do not care that he offended anyone who is NOT a white male because the righties dont care about that constituency,

In jerry's defense, he is the victim here, pesonal responsibility is for the little people.

UPDATE: In an interview, he said he was being targeted for criticism because he is a conservative.
"It can't be recognized that I understand white privilege," Bader said. He added that it wouldn't be a story if liberals Bill Maher or Ed Schultz told the same joke because the media would immediately understand what they were saying.
On Monday morning, Bader spent a half-hour on his show saying he was being unfairly accused of being racist simply for mangling the joke.

Besides he isnt racist, he has a black friend( or at least he possibly once voted for a black man).

He pointed out such things as the fact that his wife is an Asian-Pacific Islander and that he once voted for Democratic presidential candidate Jesse Jackson. He also said he exposed a Green Bay alderman who made racist remarks on the show in 2005 while using a fake name.
This isn't the first time the conservative news commentator has made headlines. In 2009, he retracted his claim that then-Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton had decided not to run for governor because of an extramarital affair. He issued an apology and served a two-week suspension.
Of course if you believe that one, I have a clean environmentally safe mine loaded with jobs ready to go in Northern WI!
