Dallet Will NOT Be On My Ballot

By Jeff Simpson

This Tuesday is Spring Primary election day.

In most places, the only race on the ballot will be for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.  There are three names on the Ballot and two will advance.

The first name is Michael Screnock.  The twice arrested Screnock is running on a platform of being completely impartial, yet has been endorsed by the NRA(the day before the latest school massacre), Scott Walker and (far) Right Wisconsin.   So we know he has no intention of actually being impartial.

The next name on the Ballot is Rebecca Dallet, who is running on the same platform of impartiality.   She also has as much impartiality credit as Screnock.   Dallet has endorsed and been endorsed(and funded) by Chief Justice Pat Roggensack who is about as hyper partisan as there is sitting on a Court in America.

Dallet had her crew out attacking, but strangely, the only attacks she has levied have been against her opponent Tim Burns(more info on Mr. Burns shortly).   She has had very little to say about Screnock, apparently not wanting to upset the far right wing of Wisconsin, (IE Roggensack) in case she ends up on the court or against Mr. Burns.

She has had her crew attack even some not so strong supporters of Tim Burns.    Here are a few examples:

Nation Consulting and high priced consultant Sachin Chheda(who she has paid thousands to):
Sachin K Chheda: Andy O----- yeah, asshole. She gave money in 2014 because she knew that in 2018 Dallet would run against Mike Screnock, who was then Scott Walker’s lawyer, and spend the entire campaign criticizing the Roggensack court. Jesus you people are something else.
Apparently, calling people assholes is a new Consulting strategy that helps bring people together.

Jessica LoveJoy, employee of a California Consulting firm and Dallet's Campaign Manager responding to my question of why she attacks Tim Burns and not Mike Screnock:

Jessica Lovejoy Jeff Simpson we have absolutely called out Screnock. Are you on our email list? Do you follow the campaign on twitter?

Re: Burns — it’s funny how a white straight man can spend nine months spewing lies to everyone about a his opponent — a woman candi
date — by running negative ads on Facebook, calling her names, manipulating the press, and y’all so easily turn a blind eye... But the minute we put out a FACT proven by Politifact that he’s been misleading voters about his record and legal background you attack our campaign. Interesting how that works.

Apparently straight white males are now unable to have an opinion in politics(although they do vote).   I do agree that straight white males have caused some serious damage to our country (see Ryan, Paul) but so have straight white females and I do not discount all straight white females just because Pat Roggensack and Rebecca Bradley are horrible people.

I can not bring myself to vote for someone with such poor judgement.

The third candidate is Tim Burns.

Attorney Tim Burns is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School and is licensed in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri. He is currently a partner at Perkins Coie law firm in Madison, where he specializes in insurance law. Burns also serves on the national board of the American Constitution Society and is former chair of the American Bar Association's committee on Fair and Impartial Courts. To learn more about Tim Burns, visit burnsforwisconsin.com.
I strongly endorse Tim Burns!

As a progressive, and not a lawyer, I do not want to know what the courts will rule before they even hear the case.  We have that in Wisconsin right now, thanks to the far right extremist that rule the Supreme Court now.

The Wisgop knows that anything they pass, no matter how many lower courts would rule against them, has an ace in the hole waiting for them at the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Tim Burns has let it be known that he has progressive values and will carry them to the court.   To me, that does not mean he will rule for team blue everytime.   Anyone who reads CogDis regularly knows that being a progressive means that you are not on team blue 100% of the time since they are and continually stray from progressive values.

Tim Burns saying he is a progressive with progressive values, means that he will bring no preconceived notions to the court but that he will look at the law through a lens of compassion, and empathy and neutrality.

That is something that is sorely missing and we as Wisconsinites, progressives, liberals and independents can add to the Supreme Court in Wisconsin and it starts on Tuesday.

Please Vote for Tim Burns for Wisconsin Supreme Court!

What State Does Adam Live In?

By Jeff Simpson

This from bit player, republican gopher and window washer Adam Neylon had this to say recently:
“Republicans in Wisconsin are committed to improving our overall business climate and creating more opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs to thrive,” said State Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee), a small business owner and President of a commercial window cleaning company in Waukesha.  “We want to make Wisconsin the best place in the world to work, live and raise a family.”
The question is what state does Adam live in?  Does he ever read a paper?   In Wisconsin, we are 44th/50th in jobs, top ten in people fleeing the state, and normally friendly InBusiness Magazine and the US Chamber of Commerce have given up on  Scott Walker.

Success is not the word most of us would use.

By the way, what is newcomer Adam's top priority?
Neylon was elected to the state Assembly in April. He has made economic development and small business growth a major focus in his first term in office.
Ouch,  Massive Fail!

Hey Adam,  Pat needs her office vacuumed!

Fallone!

By Jeff Simpson

Capper has done an excellent job letting us know who Ed Fallone is, and why he is the absolute right choice to be our next Supreme Court Justice in Wisconsin.

I want to cover a slightly different aspect.  The Walker agenda.  I received this email today from our friends at Americans for Prosperity Poverty:

Dear Jeffrey,
Act 10 is working for Wisconsin but the courts still hold this important reform in their hands. The last challenge to this law is on the doorstep of the State Supreme Court and could be decided this spring.

Ed Fallone has made it very clear that he would overturn Act 10 and turn back the clock to record deficits, out of control spending and rising property taxes.

He called the current challenge to Act 10 "Serious" and has written about his opposition to the first time the Supreme Court upheld the law. He has also gotten support for his positions from the very public employee unions that are working to overturn the law.

Act 10 has saved taxpayers $2 billion, turned a $3.6 billion deficit into a surplus and lowered property taxes for the first time in 12 years. Pure and simple, Act 10 is working.

Call Ed Fallone at (920) 540-5875 to tell him that Act 10 is working for Wisconsin families.

Yours in Liberty,

Luke Hilgemann
State Director
AFP- Wisconsin

Lets take a look at this quickly.

1.  Act 10 is absolutely, unequivocally NOT working for Wisconsin.

2.  Ed Fallone has absolutely NOT made it clear he would overturn ACT 10.  Ed Fallone, in his duties as a Constitutional law professor at Marquette, has written that Judge Colas' ruling overturning parts of ACT 10 is a well written, thought out decision and that Judge Colas was correct in taking the lawsuit seriously.

When Hilgemann writes that Fallon "has made it clear" Hilgemann is lying

3.  Public unions have endorsed him.  At least public unions are run and funded by public employees from WI.   AFP-WI has endorsed Roggensack, who funds your operation Mr. Hilgemann?

4.  Act 10 has "saved taxpayers" $2 billion?  We know that is also not true, in a recession what ACT 10 has done is taken $2 billion worth of demand out of our economy.

5.  While some people's taxes have gone down slightly(mine have risen), in their actual bill(I could explain to you how everyone's taxes have skyrocketed under walker but thats another post), are we supposed to elect Supreme Court Justices because they will "lower our taxes"  or because we trust them to follow the law?

Is Hilgemann being deceitful here or is he just ignorant as to what a Supreme Court Justice's responsibilities really are?

Call Luke Hilgemann at 608-204-5915 and tell him to stop using out of state billionaires money to advance right wing lies to the people of WI.

She's Baaaaaack!

By Jeff Simpson

For those paying attention during Scott Walker's first two elections, remember that Diane Hendricks was his top campaign donor.  She has "donated"  well over half a million dollars to the Walker campaign,  and all she wants in return is to destroy the middle class in WI

Well, she is back and back with a vengeance!  Not content in just owning the Governor's office, now she also wants the Supreme Court.  It seems as though her Easter gift to herself will be owning Pat Roggensack

Now, another member of the court’s 4-3 right-wing majority, Justice Patience “Pat” Roggensack, is up for re-election. Roggensack is being aided by the same outside groups that aided Walker in advancing some of his most controversial proposals. The far-right independent expenditure group Wisconsin Club for Growth spent an eye-popping $300,000 on television ads supporting Roggensack during the primary. Club for Growth was responsible for more than 75% of the nearly $400,000 in TV spending in the primary race, and more than 80% of the total ad spots, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMAG estimates released by the Brennan Center for Justice and Justice at Stake.

In addition, Roggensack is being handed big checks by some of the same wealthy donors that gave to Governor Walker in his recall campaign, such as Beloit billionaire Diane Hendricks and David Uihlein, Jr., as well as a variety of PACs and local Republican Party chapters.

Her opponent, Marquette Law Professor Edward Fallone, has been endorsed by a host of progressive organizations, but lags well behind in fundraising. If Fallone took the majority the court could do a virtual 180 on some of the state’s most contentious issues

I wonder if she remembers any of these ads? We do know that she is NOT a conservative

Let us stop letting these billionaires run own OUR politicians! VOTE ED FALLONE April 2nd!

Pat Said What?

By Jeff Simpson

Capper brought us the story last week of how Pat Roggensack likes to make up her list of endorsers and that she forgets about $20,000 in campaign donations.   Now we find out that she forgets what she just said

Meanwhile, the debate reignited over the 2010 exchange between Prosser and Abrahamson - with Roggensack and Abrahamson disagreeing over whether Prosser had apologized. Prosser did not return a call Wednesday.
In February 2010 Prosser called Abrahamson a "bitch," said he would destroy her and told her "it won't be a ground war."
Roggensack said last December that Prosser's comments were inappropriate but that he had immediately apologized for them.
"The incident that occurred was inappropriate, and he apologized right way," Roggensack said then.
But in a statement emailed to the Journal Sentinel this week, Abrahamson said, "Justice Prosser has never apologized to me."
Asked Wednesday about Abrahamson's statement, Roggensack said she was confident that Prosser had apologized but that she did not know when. Roggensack contended she never said Prosser had done so "right away."
"You must have put the 'right away' in there because I can't tell you when" he apologized, Roggensack said.
Roggensack made her original comment on Dec. 28 to a number of reporters. A tape of her remarks shows she twice said Prosser "apologized right away." When Roggensack was told Wednesday her earlier comments were taped, Roggensack said, "You know, if you've recorded it, print what you've recorded. This is why you and I have trouble communicating.
"You want to play 'I gotcha' with me, you don't really want to know what I have to say."
She would not answer whether Prosser had apologized directly to Abrahamson or had made public comments that Roggensack considered an apology.

If she has such a spotty memory and can not remember what she just said, how is she fit to hear important cases in the highest court of Wisconsin?

She isn't!

Vote Ed Fallone for Supreme Court of Wisconsin!

GRAEME

By Jeff Simpson

I really tried to not get involved in the Graeme Zelinski twitter Battle, I really really did.  However, the self righteousness of the democrats and dripping hypocrisy of the right wing, along with the cowering to the right wing pressure meant that Graeme Zelinski lost his position today.

It was the wrong move, done by a party notorious for making wrong moves, and everyone in Wisconsin will suffer for the consequences.

Graeme posted a tweet comparing the Jeffrey Dahmer legal bills to the Scott Walker legal defense fund spending upwards of $500,000 to skirt charges.   Well the corporate media, lazy as ever, turned the story onto Graeme and not the fact that "son of a preacher man" is the ONLY governor in the US with a legal defense fund.

It is beyond the pale to compare anyone and anything to Jeffrey Dahmer so Zieleinski had to go because the right wingers said so.  Thank Goodness, no one on the right ever said or did anyting stupid.

*  It is not like Robin Vos compared recall elections to having cancer right?    As a cancer survivor, that would offend me and a few million people.  If he did that there is no way the republicans would reward him with the speaker position right?

*  If Roger Rivard had ever said that "some girls rape easy" regarding a story about a 14 year old girl who had been raped, there is no way that the republicans would have supported him and cried when he lost right?

*  Its not like radio hate sqwuaker Charlie Sykes has never libeled someone on the air right? If he had then there is no way he would be rewarded by JSONLINE with his own website!

* It is not like Graeme is  local blogger,  who advocated shooting volunteers who supported the recall effort.

*  Its not like he is a republican senator who wants to get rid of a national holiday that many African Americans in the United States celebrate

* It is not like he is a republican senator who went on a childish democrat name calling rant and people still pretend to take him seriously.

*  It is not like he is a "non-partisan" independent Supreme Court Justice who sat front row and cheered said Senator's childish extreme partisan rant.

* It is not like he seriously considered adding agent provocateurs to the protest, then refused to answer questions from the local police chief about it.   I took my 4 year old daughter and 7 year old son, to the protests, if our Governor had said that, the press would have skewered him with questions right?

Finally, I get it, any comparison to Jeffrey Dahmer should be the end of your political career.  There is no way the republicans would ever forgive this sin, so the democrats shouldn't either.

I actually agree with Robert Mentzer that Graeme has a checkered history, with much to answer for, BUT i do not agree that this is a fireable offense.

It is too bad we allowed the right wing noise machine to set Democratic policy.

Remember, It's "An Independent Run"

looks like the far right extreme in Wisconsin have picked their candidate....They will be running the Sargent Schulz of the Supreme Court Patty Roggensack!

The WIGOP have lent former UW- Madison college republican and RNC Victory Victory Director Alyssa Moyer has been tapped to help run her campaign! let's also not forget that he has GOP "strategist" Brandon Scholz as an "advisor".

And here I thought that this was a non-partisan race, I am certain the hard core righties in our state will be upset over this!

Unless of course they are hypocrites.......

Luckily for our great readers, we were able to obtain video of Patty Roggensack being interviewed about the David "Ike Turner" Prosser choking incident"
