Wisconsin Reporter Changes Gears

The latest Marquette poll numbers are out and the gubernatorial race is dead even!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — A new Marquette Law School poll released Wednesday, May 21st finds that the Wisconsin governor’s race has tightened to a dead heat — with both Gov. Walker and challenger Mary Burke receiving the support of 46% of registered voters.

According to the poll, 6% are undecided and say they do not know whom they would support.
That represents a significant tightening of the race from the most recent Marquette Law School Poll in March, which Walker led 48-41.

According to one of the more accurate polls in recent Wisconsin history, the Governor's race is tied at 46 % on each side.  This of course leads Mr. Kittle and the objective "news" team at the unfortunately names Wisconsin reporter to come to this conclusion.

Do latest poll numbers suggest a recall-style rout for Walker?

We all know research is frowned upon with our friends on the right so let me help:

1. Sports A race in which two or more contestants compete evenly or finish at the same time.

2. A political campaign or other contest that is so close that it is impossible to predict the winner.

The question is, what is happening at Wisconsin Reporter?

Unlike macIver, they have actually done some reporting over there in the past(albeit rarely) and recently have turned into cheerleaders.  We know Grebe, Bauer et all are scared about the upcoming elections but why the push on WI Reporter and why is Matt Kittle so willing to ask how high to jump?   Is he trying to fill the cheerleading blogger void, until Judge Prosser finds a way to allow the Boots and Saber's of the world back in the game? 

Whatever happened, it is clear they have changed gears and are now fighting it out with Christian Schneider to see who can be the GOP's #1 cheerleader. 

 

 

 

John Doe Deux Is Very Partisan

This week, many facts have come to light over the latest John Doe and we see that many people's concerns of the latest John Doe probe being a partisan Witch Hunt.  Unfortunately, we are finding out those concerns are being justified.   The problem though, is that the partisans involved in this are almost exclusively in the Scott Walker camp.  

First let's let Bruce Murphy give us some background:

Over and over, supporters of Gov. Scott Walker have contended that the second John Doe probe is just a partisan “witch hunt.” But newly released court documents, made public with the consent of all parties to the investigation, provide information showing this is a bipartisan effort. They also offer a fascinating look at the role of Attorney General J.B Van Hollen and how he delayed the investigation, which apparently centers on alleged coordination between third party conservative funding groups and Walker’s gubernatorial campaign during the 2012 recall election.

Conservative attack dogs like talk radio’s Charlie Sykes have hammered the idea that this is a partisan investigation led by Democratic Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm. But the court documents show that four other district attorneys are co-investigators in this effort: Jane Kohlwey of Columbia County, a Republican; Kurt Klomberg of Dodge County, a Republican; Larry Nelson of Iowa County, a Democrat; and Ismael Ozanne of Dane County, a Democrat.

Ok so what we have are some "Democrats" and some "republicans" working together to investigate a complicated case.  On the outside you have righty's like Charlie Sykes whining like hungry babies trying to "work the refs".   

As we always say, "but wait there's more".   Amongst the right's very loud sniveling, some puzzle pieces have started to come into focus.   For instance, it was revealed to us that it was actually the GAB that asked for the John Doe probe(and here I thought they were toothless): 

Former judges on the state Government Accountability Board voted unanimously last year to authorize the investigation of fundraising and spending by Gov. Scott Walker's campaign and his allies during the recent recall elections, according to a Tuesday court filing.

Dean Nickel, an investigator hired by the accountability board to assist with the investigation, said in the 10-page filing that he believes the substantial evidence gathered in the probe "coupled with the GAB's unanimous approval of the investigation directly refutes plaintiffs' witch-hunt theory."

Nickel's brief is one of a series filed with the federal court on Tuesday in a bid by Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm and his aides to get a federal appeals court to intervene in the high-profile John Doe probe.

 A source said five members of the accountability board voted in June 2013 for a resolution authorizing the investigation. The sixth member was not in attendance and did not vote, the source said.

 FYI:  The GAB members  ALL have ties to the republican party!  

It was also recently revealed that the special prosecutor in the John Doe Deux probe, actually voted for Scott Walker in the recall election.  

 
The special prosecutor in the ongoing John Doe probe says he has nothing against Gov. Scott Walker's campaign and the conservative groups at the center of the investigation.

In fact, in a new court filing, former federal prosecutor Francis Schmitz opened up about his voting record to try to suggest that the investigation is nothing personal.

"I voted for Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin's 2012 gubernatorial recall election," Schmitz said in a sworn declaration filed with the U.S. District Court on Tuesday.

Can you even imagine the bleating the Mcgyver would be doing or the whimpering Vicki Mckenna would be screeching if Mr. Schmitz had voted for a Democrat?  

Now that Scott Walker can no longer hide behind the "partisan witch hunt" BS, it is time for him to truly answer some questions.   Did he know about the secret router? Was he involved in the racist email chains?   Has he personally supplied any of this underlings with legal defense money? Was it a coincidence that two of the more well known blogs on the right(boots and Sabers and Badger blogger), closed up shop almost simultaneously as the launch of JD2?  

Wisconsinites deserve the truth! 



  

 

Mission Accomplished!

Right Wing blog, Boots & Sabers say they are closing up shop.   Its interesting that they are choosing this time to call it a day, since their "motto" is " the blogging will continue until morale improves..".

It appears that the morale has improved.

Of course realizing that B&S was originated in the West Bend area, it all makes sense. 

Only from someone who thinks Glenn Grothman actually represents anyone, then you would find "improved morale" in the fact that Wisconsin is ranked in the bottom five states in both lack of jobs and lowering wages.   To top this one off, there is no chance of us improving.  

That kind of news would play well in West Bend, then you top that off with FINALLY having a black friend, and you can see why they would want to take some time and enjoy their "success"!

 The thing to worry about though is if BootsandKittens will also be leaving us! 

The Real World Intervenes!

After the shootings in Sandy Hook, we know the right wing was in a tizzy to stop any kind of sensible gun regulations whatsoever.   Paid Hacks like Wiggy wrote pure NRA apologist drivel, then his less well paid echo chamber cheerleaders at Boots and Sabers threw him a big thumbs up! 

Wiggy was so ahead of the curve that he made(lame attempts at) jokes about the killings! 

While I get that these guys need to make a living, and they are immensely unqualified to do anything else, the problem with the right wing talking points, is always - reality.  In this case, more so than normal!

Veronique Pozner, the mother of the youngest victim of Sandy Hook Elementary spoke up about her son:

 The family placed stuffed animals, a blanket and letters to Noah into the casket. Lastly, Veronique put a clear plastic rock with a white angel inside — an “angel stone” — in his right hand. She asked the funeral director to place an identical one in his left, which was badly mangled. Noah’s famously long eyelashes, which she spoke about in her eulogy, rested lightly on his cheeks and a cloth covered the place where his lower jaw had been.

I wonder if James Wigderson would like to discuss with  Ms. Pozner how "doing something worse than nothing".

 Please tell me again about your rights to own guns and what the Founders felt.  

As a father of 6 year old, I can not begin to imagine the pain and grief that the Pozner family feel.  I can however share the disgust and contempt  for the people who write such BS as Wiggy and Owen(and many others) did, and put protecting their own self interests over those of the rest of America.  Especially when it effects our children and before we can even properly bury them!   All for the temporary approval of some powers that be, that hold the purse strings!

RIP Noah Pozner! 

How Right Wing Sausage is Made

Science Fiction Writer and WPRI paid hack Christian Schneider wrote a fable the other day, one of his best pieces of work. 

Beaten for being a gay republican!  Over 1300 words of pure republican bliss!

The story however had one major tell:

To date, Wood has been reluctant to talk to any media, especially on-camera.   “I’m not going to win Princess Kay of the Milky Way or anything anytime soon, I look a little rough,” he joked.

Wood was reluctant to talk to the media because he knew he was lying, however his fake story had to be told so he chose people who were NOT the media.   Schneider of course, The Daily Caller and mediatrackers for some examples to make sure and get their message out to as many people  as possible before the house of cards fell!

This was yet another great example of how the echo chamber works.  They make up a story and a couple people run with it, allowing fellow paid and unpaid hacks to repeat repeat repeat!   Wisconsin reporter, Crazy Fred Dooley , Alpha Male Randy Hollenbeck and  Boots and Sabers(owen deleted the story like it never happened- no apologies or retractions) to name a few!   

This was an excellent example of the republican noise machine.

* Make up a story.

* Get it out there to as many people as possible in the 24 hour news cycle(shame on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for giving Schneider a forum).  Extra credit here for being incredibly upset and emotional about this story!

*  When story is proven to be false, either pretend you knew it all along or pretend nothing ever happened.

* Lather, Rinse, Repeat!   

This is how right wing sausage is made, and it is as ugly as regular sausage!  The thing to know is when there is a story spreading through the right wing blogosphere and hate radio squawkers, wait a couple days for the actual truth to come out! 

PS:   In case your wondering about how Schneider addressed his ridiculous fable as being false.  He amended his 1300+ story to add this at the end.

UPDATE: on October 29, Wood recanted his allegations to the Madison Police Department.

Yes he is THAT dishonest!
