Eric Hovde: The Ultimate Carpetbagger

Pornstache Carpetbagger

Everyone knows that Eric Hovde, aka Pornstache Carpetbagger, is really a Californian banker.  He lives in Laguna Beach, California and was awarded Citizen of the Year in Orange County for three years running.

But apparently, old Pornstache is such a carpetbagger that he might not even be from this country.  Take for example, via Heartland Signal, a few days ago when he tried to pretend to be a Wisconsinite by going to the Slinger Speedway.  After giving a short speech of monolistic jingoism - America is great. Yay. - he wanted to lead the crowd into a rousing rendition of the Pledge of Allegiance.  But as soon as he started, you could see his mind blank out and he started looking like a deer caught in the headlights.  And it only got worse from there.

He even got help and he still could get it right!

But wait! There's more! There's always more!

When his totally ineffective spokesperson, Ben Voelkel, tried to do damage control, all he could do was point and yell, "Squirrel!"

Hovde's campaign spokesman, Ben Voelkel, responded that President Joe Biden is also known to stumble over words and phrases, including while on the campaign trail in Wisconsin.

Voelkel added that the media should instead focus on other things: "Families are struggling to afford groceries, terrorists and hundreds of thousands of criminals pour into the country illegally, mortgage rates are almost 8 percent, and leftist anti-Semitic protests rage across college campuses."

I wonder, is Hovde a Russian name, perchance?  I don't know, but given the stilted way he tried to be All American Guy and not being able to recite the pledge even with help, I'm no longer sure Hovde is actually American.

A little Irony in your Tea?

The racine version of the Koch brothers funded "tea party" held a rally this weekend and it was dripping and housed in irony!

Yes it was ironic that the group that desperately supported intellectual lightweight Eric Hovde & adamantly opposed Tommy Thompson would then have him as their main speaker.

It was also ironic that the big spending, deficit creating, former bush administration big government offiicial Tommy Thompson was the main speaker for the "taxed enough already' party.

It was very ironic that 71 year old Tommy Thompson, who was first elected to the Wisconsin Assembly 32 years ago, call for "new leaders".

It was ironic to see Pam Stevens talk about fiscal responsibility.

It was ironic to see a Navy Seal tout Mitt Romney of all people.

It was very ironic to see someone at the "tea party" talk about personal responsibility.

However, the most ironic part of the day was the location:

held in the warehouse at 6200 Regency West Drive that previously housed Sam’s Club.
No place is better to house a "tea party" rally than a closed down warehouse that carries a bunch of cheap sh*t from China that no one really wants or needs!

ICYMI:  Wiggy is still lying  and Fred is just ridiculous.

One thing they did accomplish though, is to hire a spooksmodel!

Eric Hovde Still Taking Government Handouts

One of the many reasons Eric Hovde was unable to buy the nomination to be the Republican candidate for US Senate was because of his hypocritical stance towards government handouts. He would say he was against them, but then turn around with his hand out to get his own government handouts.

You'll be glad to know some things never change.

Hovde Properties, owned by Eric Hovde, is looking for more handouts in Madison:
A Madison developer is seeking $5.2 million in public assistance for a $60.6 million, 14-story high rise near Overture Center with apartments, retail, offices and underground parking.

The project will also include roughly 30,000 square feet of space for Madison Fire Department offices that will be sold to the city as a condominium at the construction cost of $5 million.

Hovde Properties' request for $5.2 million in tax incremental financing (TIF) support does not pertain to the condo to be sold to the city.

"We think it's going to be a great addition," Hovde President Mike Slavish said of the project. "It will be a tremendous complement to State Street businesses as well as the surrounding neighborhood."

The TIF support is needed to support the tall, dense project in an already developed urban location, Slavish said.
Watch for Scott Walker to lean on Madison mayor Paul Soglin to make this happen. After all, it is the Fitzwalkerstanian way.

Just sayin'.

Compare/Contrast - WI Senate Edition!

Here is another stark contrast between the two parties, especially in terms of the Senate Candidates!

Tammy Baldwin is thought so well of by the national Democratic party that she was given a prime time speaking spot on the biggest night of the convention.

Now, let's compare that to her opponent in November Tommy G Thompson.   Tommy recently barely escaped a primary where 2/3 Republican voters voted against him and he almost lost to Washington DC resident and intellectual lightweight Eric Hovde.  Then during the convention, Thompson was not allowed anywhere near prime time or the camera's.  Except for this one exception:

Embedded image permalink

Where someone caught Tommy begging David Koch for some more money.   You know this is an important conversations for Tommy because he does not have a drink in his hand!

However, I will give credit where it is due,  whoever planned the convention has heard Tommy speak before and wanted no part of it.   Especially with this on his resume:

Yes, sadly the 1990's Tommy G Thompson is no longer and he has been replaced with the hate filled, crazy, greedy version you see above.   Tommy is so desperate these days, his main campaign focus now is trying hard to let everyone know that Tammy Baldwin is gay.   What a truly sad figure Tommy has become.

:There truly is no comparison anymore, let's make sure we send Tammy Baldwin to Washington DC in November!

MY Thoughts on Today's Primary

Ok some quick thoughts on the election....Tommy won and its time to introduce the new tommy to the electorate.  People need to know he is the older, crazier, meaner version from the old days.  He cant walk back the fact that he had to go crazy to win the primary.

I also cant wait to see the "tea party" pretend that they like tommy all along despite all of the things they said about him.   I would guess we havent seen a flip flop like this since mitt got the nomination.

Good to see eric hovde get humiliated, despite spending millions.  That speaks to the idiocy of rojo.  Wisconsinites had enough of spoiled rich lightweight brats...

Jeff Fitzgeralds showing says that after all the walker dirty work he did, he had zero support showing how much the money in the repub party care about pushing their agenda and NOTHING or NO ONE else

Mark Neumann's special brand of hate will hopefully never win another election again!

Compare/Contrast this primary to the dems big primary in the 2nd Congressional district.  Where the more negative that Tommy went, the better his numbers.   In the Democratic primary, Kelda Roys went negative and she lost all of her support.   What was shaping up to be a close race, turned into a blow out.   I guess really bad consultants run deep in the Democratic party!

Finally it was good to see all of the Scott "Scooter" Jensen candidates get beat.  Anyone that associates with him shows themselves to be the loser that Jensen is!   There is no room in the Democratic party for candidates who associate with the likes of Jensen!

Your Thoughts??

Congratulations, Senator Baldwin!

What? Don't be shocked by the title. After all, if the mainstream news can call Scott Walker's victory before people are even finished voting, I should be able to call Tammy Baldwin's before they start voting.

And this is Baldwin's election to lose right now.

Over the past several months, Baldwin has been able to rack up quite the war chest and do nothing but run a couple of positive campaign ads focusing on the important issues.

Meanwhile, the four candidates vying to be the GOP nominee for the senate seat has not been doing much more than showing exactly why they shouldn't be the next senator. They haven't done much more than try to pretend they're more conservative than the others and then sling mud at each other while complaining that the others are being negative. It's gotten to the point where a thinking person can't take any of them seriously.

Let's take a quick look at each of these four stooges:

Mark Neumann

Neumann is one of the two true conservatives. He's greedy and a raging anti-homosexual fascist. He's dumping a lot of his own wealth into the race, which is not inconsiderable, in an effort to buy the seat.

But his expenditures also come with a dwindling return.

He is not running a very effective campaign. For example, he's running an ad where he states he knows that church is important and starts talking about how he met his wife. The gist of the ad is that he is a good anti-abortion type of Christian, but it really comes across as that he was trolling his church for dates when he was ten years old.

Despite flooding the airwaves with ads, it appears that Neumann is coming in a distant third. The reason for this is that he is considered a pariah among many of the tea-bagging conservatives. Neumann's sin was not only running against Scott Walker during the 2010 primary, but also telling the truth about Walker and his inability to lead, which we are seeing today. But for Neumann to dare to even utter this out loud is the equivalent of heresy. He's lucky he doesn't get stoned for having done that.

Some people are still sniveling about Neumann's audacity of trying to do the right thing. Perhaps that's why Neumann is now running an ad with the theme of "Gee, if I only knew how great Walker was, I wouldn't have run."

Note to Mark: Trust your instincts. Walker will be going down and taking a hell of a lot of people with him.

What I find hilarious is while the TEA Party Express has endorsed Neumann and is taking their song and dance around the state, the local teahadists are scrambling to denounce their fellow teabaggers. Apparently even the big money bags that are trying to buy are elections are torn on who to back.

Tommy Thompson

TOMMY!! is the penultimate politician. Thompson will tell you whatever you want to hear, whether it's true or not. Want your taxes cut? Thompson's your man, even though he will raise them. Want spending cuts? Thompson will promise you that, even though he will increase spending. Are you against the Affordable Healthcare Act? So is Tommy, when he's not endorsing it, that is.

Tommy is also very savvy on how to turn a buck. He took his position as former governor and former Secretary of Health and used it to get hooked up with all sorts of companies, and their lobbyists. There's little doubt that one of the reasons Tommy is even running is that he wants to increase his name value and rake in the bucks.

The other reason is, of course, to feed his gargantuan ego with a lot of publicity and attention which he constantly seeks.

Tommy has a pretty decent chance on getting the nomination next week, but not because of who his is or who he claims to be, but just because of name recognition. This is causing some people to have a log of angst and screaming "Caveat emptor!"

Eric Hovde

Eric Hovde has dreams of being the next Ron Johnson, meaning he wants to be another multimillionaire who got all of his money with the help of the government and now wants to use that money to buy his seat in the Senate on the pretense that he wants to end the graft that made him rich. Right.

While that might be how Hovde wants to portray himself, that's not the way he is coming across. His negativity and hypocrisy is turning a lot of people off and what should have been his race to buy is slipping through his fingers.

In reality, Hovde is like one of those spoiled frat boys in a Grade B teen movie who thinks the world owes him just because he's rich and good looking. And just like the movies, it turns out his character is a spoiled little brat that whines like mad when he's asked to take some responsibility for what he's done or hasn't done, like voting.

Hovde, like Thompson and RoJo, only want the seat to help stack the deck even more in his favor so that he can increase his wealth. The poor darling can't be expected to make it on the paltry few millions of dollars he has.

Jeff Fitzgerald

Jeff Fitzgerald is like the lost child in this race. Even though he won the popularity vote in the state GOP convention, he has not been able to parlay that into support or campaign donations.

Bruce Murphy thinks it's because he's not serious about being a candidate for the US Senate, but is rather just setting the stage for him to become a lobbyist, where the pay is much more lucrative.

I think another factor is that the only thing Fitzgerald has got to run on his the way he hitched his wagon to Scott Walker's. His latest ad, which I heard for the first time this week, brags about, among other things, weakening gun laws and the castle doctrine. That might not be something he'd want to run with the week after the horrific mass shooting at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek. Not only that, but people are starting to finally catch on that the Walker/Fitzgerald plan is not working on bringing jobs to the state. While Walker and his supporters were able to buy the recall election, this shows that the Republican snake oil has a bitter taste to it.

All that Fitzgerald has been able to do with his ill-conceived plan is to make himself completely irrelevant and only remembered as long as the programming integrity of his entry in Ballotpedia remains intact.

With the polarity and in-fighting of this race, whoever the surviving candidate is will be a bloodied, damaged man who already spent millions of his own dollars that they were going to need for the general election. And WISGOP won't see the coming together to support the winner that they will need. The candidates' egos won't allow it, nor will the divisiveness this race as caused among the faithful.

The only way that this person is going to beat Tammy Baldwin is if he has the election bought and/or stolen for him. And even then, I don't think they will be able to overcome the Democrats' backlash as well as their own side's self-anathema.

So, again, congratulations Senator Baldwin!

Isn't It Ironic....

Don't Ya Think?....a little too ironic...

The "Tea Party Express" hate group led by Amy Kremer, is back!!  This time, these out of state agitators are endorsing Mark Neumann for the Wisconsin Senate Seat!

“The Tea Party is united behind Mark Neumann because he is the proven conservative in the race,” said Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer in a statement. “Mark earned the support of the Tea Party Express, and Tea Party members from every corner of Wisconsin, because he is the only one with a plan that cuts spending, balances the budget and repeals ObamaCare. He understands that we must get back to Constitutional principles in Washington. And, he is the one we can trust to stand up to Barack Obama.”
Of course that is utterly ridiculous, but so is this....the Wisconsin "tea party" he one funded and founded by the Koch Brothers, with the vermin tim phillips at the head nationally, did not agree.   See The billionaires, want the multi-millionaire Eric Hovde to be Wisconsin's next Senator.  So they sent this letter to whoever seemed to care:

See the Out of State "tea party" wants a Wisconsin Candidate to be the next Wisconsin Senator, but the local "leaderless" "tea party" sent by paid state "leaders" wants the out of state people to stay out of our race so they can support the out of state candidate, Eric Hovde.

It is amazing they coined the term for election season "the silly season" before the "tea party" came into existence!

By the way, isn't Jeff Fitzgerald running for Senate???

Tax Return Hypocrisy

There is no limits to republican hypocrisy and no issue they will NOT politicize.  The latest issue is tax returns:

Let's look at some things we know about tax returns and politicians:

We know that George Romney(Mitts dad) was the first politician to release multiple years tax returns because  “One year could be a fluke, perhaps done for show".

We know that when Mitt was desperate to be John McCain's running mate he gave the Senator over 23 years of tax returns!

We know that Mitt will NOT release his tax returns to the general public:

We know that Ann Romney says they have given us all of the info "that you people need to know".

We also know that Washington DC resident,  Eric Hovde has no interest in releasing his tax returns

We know that the republicans think that releasing tax returns is a non issue and has nothing to do with the upcoming election.

NOW, thanks to some very good reporting from Jason Rae, we know that when it comes to their opponents, tax returns are a very significant issue.

From June 27 to July 16, 2012, the Republican Party of Wisconsin, through its political director Jonathan Wetzel, filed an open records request with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for the tax returns of 26 Democratic candidates for the Assembly. The requests varied from ten years worth of filings to just one year’s return.

You see, unlike federal tax returns, state tax returns are subject to open records.  It’s just one more aspect of the Wisconsin tradition of transparency in government that has been under assault by Governor Walker and the GOP led legislature in the last year and a half.  But don’t get me wrong, even if they don’t like the transparency, they will use it when it benefits them.
....

I just don’t understand how they can deny releasing their own returns saying it shouldn’t matter and that it’s an attempt to, as a Hovde spokesman said, “incite class warfare,” and yet go and seek tax returns from other candidates.

Here again we have Republicans talking out of both sides of their mouth. It is actually making me wonder what Tommy, Mark, Eric and Jeff are all hiding if they refuse to release theirs? Its classic do as we say, not as we do.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican.

The Fall of Tommy Thompson

"A drowning man will clutch at a straw"

With the current rise of Washington DC resident Eric Hovde as the front runner  in the republican senatorial primary, Tommy Thompson sees his future in politics as non-existent.  With Time running out, Tommy is getting desperate.   Time to call in some help!

Recently Michigan's native son Ted Nugent penned an editorial in the Cult leader Reverend Moon owned Washington Times, saying it might have been best of the South would have won.

Chief Justice Roberts squandered the opportunity to restore judicial, financial and legislative sanity to a government that by any sane person’s standards is insane and addicted to centralized federal control of our lives.

Because our legislative, judicial and executive branches of government hold the 10th Amendment in contempt, I’m beginning to wonder if it would have been best had the South won the Civil War. Our Founding Fathers’ concept of limited government is dead.

Because of the chief justice’s vote, Fedzilla just burped and is now prepared to gobble up even more of our tax dollars, more of our GDP and limit even more opportunity in the private sector
Tommy thompson, who is in need of help in his campaign, reads this article and decides that the person who advocates for the slave owning south to have won the civil war and says such incendiary things as this, is THE perfect person to come up to Wisconsin and rescue his falling campaign!

Earlier this spring Nugent was in the news after comments he made saying he would be “dead or in jail by this time next year” if President Barack Obama is re-elected.

During the rally, Nugent joked that he was very politically engaged and that there were Secret Service agents in back just to prove that, which was met with laughter.

During his speech, Nugent also called the president “a Chicago gangster.”
PERFECT, exactly what he was hoping terrible Ted said and reached exactly who he wanted to reach!

Was Dick Morris busy??

Isn't Jeff Fitzgerald running for Senate also???

Eric Hovde Wants Your Vote

However, the Washington DC resident who wants to be Wisconsin's Senator can not be bothered to vote himself.  He is too busy saving the poor to vote*, and he doesn't like the choices he has had.   Maybe Eric Hovde needs to look up the definition of citizen legislator!

Senate candidate Eric Hovde is a busy guy.

So busy, in fact, he rarely has had time to vote.

"I'm a person that's spent 75% of my life in an airplane, flying around the U.S., flying around the globe," Hovde, a community banker and hedge fund manager, told the Journal Sentinel last week. "You know a lot of what I've been up to. I built homeless shelters for street kids in Kigali, Rwanda; Mombasa, Kenya; Accra, Ghana; Mexico City; Huanuco, Peru."

Records show that Hovde registered to vote in Washington, D.C., in 2004, two years after he built his 7,700-square-foot mansion there. Of the 11 elections held in D.C. since he registered, Hovde voted in just two of them - the 2004 and '08 general presidential campaigns.

In the last presidential contest, Hovde said he voted for Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona. He did not vote in the GOP primary between McCain and former Arkan sas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
It's not just his busy schedule that has kept him away from the ballot box. He also pointed to the dearth of conservative Republicans in elections in the nation's capital.

"I'm a conservative in D.C. Do you understand that?" Hovde asked. "When it comes to a vote in Washington, D.C., and you're a conservative and your only choice is a liberal Democrat and a liberal Democrat; it's a little discouraging."

A top staffer for former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann, a Janesville Republican, was even more pointed.
"It's bad enough that he hasn't lived in Wisconsin for 24 years," said Chip Englander, Neumann's campaign manager. "He should have at least voted where he did live."

*When Eric Hovde says he does not like to talk about his charity work, he apparently means, he does not like to talk about his charity work, UNLESS there is a reporter present!

Different Rules

While I was up north this past weekend, I had the opportunity to do something that I almost never do - watch television. As if to remind me why I don't watch much TV - much less miss it - every channel was being besieged by an annoying commercial by Eric Hovde.

In said commercial, Hovde whined about the other candidates going negative, and then in the same spot, smearing both Tommy Thompson and Mark Neumann. Fortunately, I don't have to go into any pains in describing Hovde's hypocrisy. The DPW made a video, with truly awful background "music," to show his hypocrisy perfectly:

They also provide supporting evidence of Hovde's double standards between himself and the rest of the world (which he probably refers to as "the little people.")

I personally am getting really annoyed with Hovde's hypocrisy and arrogance, not to mention his pitiful whining when he has to act like a responsible adult. Sad to say, this is just the sort of thing some people are looking for.

A Few Observations

1.   If Scott Walker is so wildly popular, why is former Assembly leader Jeff Fitgerald(Fitz the lesser) and one of the people most responsible for passing Scott Walker's agenda polling a whopping 6%?   Yet Washington DC resident, Eric Hovde, who had absolutely nothing to do with Scott Walker is leading in the polling?   Even the astroturf koch brother's operation, Freedomworks, run by the vile dick armey has endorsed Washington DC resident Eric Hovde!   Even paid hack and perpetual fabricator Wiggy, took a very informal poll and Fitzgerald finished a far distant fourth.

I guess the scott walker coattails are not very long!   Fitzgerald appears to be running on his record, it just appears as though he is running in sand(or his record is that bad).

2.  Hmmmmmmmm

3.  Eric Hovde is worse than Tommy Thompson???

4.  Mark Neumann takes time away from hating gays to attack Eric Hovde:

5. Finally, George W. Bush was awesome!!  Just ask him.   Ummmm George:

Bush left office in 2009 with a 22 percent approval rate, making him one of history’s least-liked presidents, according to CBS News. In all, 73 percent said they did not approve of the way he ran the country for eight years.

Jesus Said "I Got Mine!"

As you are watching the national train wreck that is Mitt Romney, and closer to home the two way battle between long past his prime Washington DC insider Tommy Thompson and Washington DC resident and inherited millionaire Eric Hovde? As you do, keep this in mind!

"If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it to."  Dorothy Parker

On that same topic, here is our friend Lee Camp's thoughts:

Speaking of that, did you see in the news recently that Eric Hovde has spent $4 million dollars of his own money on TV ads?  To be fair, why would anyone in this tough economy give Washington DC resident and multi millionaire Eric Hovde any of their hard earned money?

Hovde Is All In With Mitt!

We all know the story of how Mitt Romney illegally put his family dog, Seamus, on the top of his car for a 12 hour ride on family vacation. Well Washington DC resident and current Wisconsin republican senatorial frontrunner Eric Hovde is angling for Mitt Romney's endorsement.

 H/T Tony Galli and WKOW:
Hovde cited for ignoring boating safety Republican U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde was cited by a Dane County sheriff’s deputy for allowing his daughter and a dog to be pulled behind his boat, without taking necessary safety precautions.

According to the citation, Hovde was pulling his daughter and a dog in a tube behind his boat June 24, without having a safety observer aboard the boat. Authorities said Hovde told deputies he knew an observer was needed.

The citation case remains open.

Key sentence there:

Hovde told the deputies that he knew an observer was needed!

Which means that in a year he is trying to buy a US Senate seat while vacationing in Wisconsin, he felt that the laws do not apply to him.  If he is such a person of privilege that he feels no laws apply to him now, how would he govern as a Senator?

Next thing you know, his company will be illegally paying him back all the money he spent to get elected AFTER the election!  I can see it now, he is just arrogant enough to answer, when asked,

"It's a private business. I've complied with all the disclosure laws, and I don't have to explain it any further to someone like you."

Nah no one is that arrogant!

However it is very disturbing that when he should be minding his P's and Q's while running for a high profile public office, Hovde could care less about the laws and does as he pleases when and where he pleases!    Hardly the character qualities of someone who we would hire to represent all 5.7 million Wisconsinites.

It is downright embarrassing actually!

Let's make sure Eric Hovde is unable to buy a Wisconsin Senate seat and give to the only person in this race who actually has ethics and morals!  Tammy Baldwin

Finally, is it republicans that hate dogs or just sons of privilege?

Wiggy Needs an Editor!

We all know that the blog Wigderson's Pub is written with no regards for the facts and is appropriately named because it is written with the same fantasy aspects as a drunk in the bar telling a story.   One piece was particularly laughable, his "interview" with Eric Hovde.   It appears with the glowing recommendation and lack of reality that Wiggy is applying for a job with Eric Hovde, instead of reporting reality.

Let's take look at a few highlights:

Hovde is running for the Republican nomination to replace retiring Sen. Herb Kohl. There are three other strong candidates in the race: former Gov. Tommy Thompson, Speaker of the Assembly Jeff Fitzgerald, and former congressman Mark Neumann.
Let's see we have ancient Tommy Thompson, who can not even remember the date of 9/11 homophobe, bigot professional jobber Mark Neumann, and former assemblyman Jeff Fitzgerald, of the suck off the taxpayer teat Fitzgerald Family, who has also raised a total of .36 cents for his campaign.  If this is a strong field, I would be interested to see what a weak field looks like. Wait I found a perfect example

Thompson is the favorite in the race
Tommy G Thompson finished a very distant fourth in the endorsement vote at the Wisconsin state republican convention.    This beats last year's when he was not allowed to attend.

Hovde says that what separates him out from the other candidates is his private-sector background. Unlike the other candidates, Hovde says, he is not a career politician.
Unlike the other candidates, Hovde does not live in Wisconsin.

“We’re dealing with an economic crisis. As I say to people, when you get a brain tumor you’re going to want the best brain surgeon you can find. If you’ve got a heart ailment, you’re going to want the best heart doctor you can find.
 So Hovde Supports Obamacare!!!!!

“If you’re having an economic crisis, you’re going to want (someone) that can understand the economy inside and out, and how to deal with these issues.”
Oops, Hovde just pointed out why he is immensely unqualifed to be the next WI senator.

Lack of ethics. Lack of morals. The culture turns bad.
Interesting Hovde, can't stand Robin Vos either.

A lot of Republican establishment guys complain about the tea party movement,” he said. “It saved the Republican Party, because it pulled (the party) back to what it’s supposed to be about.”
Now it is just getting weird, according to Hovde, if the "tea party" is what the republican party is supposed to be about, then that means the republican party stands for HATE, badly misspelled signs and really ugly American flag shirts!

This is not a replay of 2010, when businessman Ron Johnson filled a vacuum. This time around, Republicans have a choice between some very substantial candidates.

Umm Ron Johnson is as smart as a vacuum and Wiggy just spit on the memory and hard work of Dave Westlake!

Eric Hovde - Dumb Ass!

Washington DC resident and Wisconsin Senate hopeful Eric Hovde, had a busy week last week.  First he whined about too many stories in the press about the poor, then he lied about what he said, then he fundraised off of what he said then he semi apologized about what he said finally he let everyone know it didnt matter what he said because he was a true American hero.   Lots to pack in one week.

Unfortunately for the people of Wisconsin, there was no tipping point when it came to Hovde's dumb remarks.   He felt the need to trump them at the end of the week.  Is Hovde just an intellectual light weight fraud or is he just attempting to court the far right extreme voters and knows the crazier he sounds the better he does?

These remarks came from Friday, during his "I did not really mean sob story tour".  Try and keep up, he tends to talk in circles.

First he pulls his best Joe McCarthy and calls Tammy Baldwin a communist:

"I fundamentally disagree with Tammy on almost everything. She has a more liberal voting record than almost anybody in Congress," he told The Hill in a recent interview. "Her philosophy has its roots in Marxism, communism, socialism, extreme liberalism — she calls it progressivism — versus mine, which is rooted in free-market conservatism."

Ignoring the fact that Marxism, communism, socialism, extreme liberalism and progressivism are all completely different ideologies, it seems that is a bit too complicated for Hovde.   He then goes on to give a very honest self assessment:

"I frankly keep being amazed by the lack of maturity and lack of intelligence of those in the political world," he said, ripping politicians and the media(and talking about himself).
Not dizzy enough from this conversation, Hovde kept the conversation spinning, first he starts out telling us yet again what a hero to the underprivileged that he is:

"You’re talking about a guy who’s had a [charity] foundation for 14-plus years, who has built homeless shelters around the globe, founded food pantries, meals on wheels. ... Anyone who wants to criticize me for being insensitive to the poor, I’ll put my record up against any Arianna Huffingtons'."

Hovde's campaign released on Wednesday a challenge to debate Huffington on who'd done more for charitable causes. He's given more than $10 million to charitable causes in recent years.
Of course Hovde nor his campaign "want" to talk about it*(unless he is giving interviews to anyone who will listen, giving speeches or if he could possibly debate anyone who will about how much he gives to charity).

"I pray and hope they bring this up because it’ll drag them into a discussion I’d love to have. I don’t go out and talk about my charity because as a person of faith I don’t think I need to go out and promote that stuff.
Another thing is do NOT mess with him or he will beat you up, he lifts weights!!

"I’m 6 foot three, weigh 225 and have been lifting and taking martial arts my whole life."
Hovde also apparently loves the taste of his own foot as everytime he opens his mouth he keeps inserting it, however that has yet to stop him, here is explaining why he lives in Washington DC, apparently because Mr. family values stole another man's wife:

if not for his step-daughter, would have moved back long ago."Her father’s in D.C. and would never stand for us moving," he said.
Finally on a follow up to their story, The Hill points out that the Hovde campaign took issue with the headline.   You be the judge:

From the Hovde campaign:

"It is a misleading headline," said a Hovde spokesman. "Eric never called her a Communist. He was characterizing her liberal philosophy and vision which, if you look at her dismal record in Congress, is pretty accurate."
 Once more the quote:

"I fundamentally disagree with Tammy on almost everything. She has a more liberal voting record than almost anybody in Congress," he told The Hill in a recent interview. "Her philosophy has its roots in Marxism, communism, socialism, extreme liberalism — she calls it progressivism — versus mine, which is rooted in free-market conservatism."

Once more Eric hovde didnt say what we know he said but because he looked bad he did not say it.....that is all we need is one more no nothing representative who refuses to ever take personal responsibility for anything that they do!

Once again....throw Tammy Baldwin some money and support since she is the only adult running in this race!!!!

Eric Hovde - Humble Hero

Its been an interesting week for Washington DC resident, turned Wisconsin US Senate hopeful, he went from whining about people caring about the poor, to pretending he did not say what we have on video to telling us what a humble hero he actually is

"I have done more for people that are economically disadvantaged than probably — and I've never talked about it publicly because I keep it very low-profile — than all but for a very few people in our society," Eric Hovde  told a forum at the Madison Club
Hovde then was so impressed with himself, that he "choked up" explaining all of the good he has done

You get a little emotional sometimes because, you know, you've put enormous amounts of your life work (into something) and I've given beyond what anybody normally does — time, money, effort — and to have someone make this kind of attack?"

Yes he keeps a very low profile, he does not like to talk about it, unless of course he has an audience to tell it to that is.   Hovde then (as I have said, listen to them and let them tell us who they are), could not quite let it go.   While he has tried to transform himself this week, he also has come full circle.  He started the week complaining that the poor get too much press coverage and he ends the week upset that they actually get to eat!

In an interview with the State Journal, Hovde said his irritation is with fraud within the food-stamp system, which he called "massive." A system rife with fraud won't endure, and it won't be there for the people who truly need it, he said.

He said he talks equally as much, if not more so, about corporate fraud. "What we have is everybody abusing the system, from the big corporate side to the social side," he said.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates the food-stamp fraud rate is about 1 percent, costing about $750 million a year. Hovde thinks that number is "woefully off."

Eric Hovde,  who used to teach his clients how to “Let Uncle Sam Pay for Your Acquisition", has taken time out of his busy schedule, of campaigning, buying vacation homes and giving to republican
politicians to actually research the US food stamp program enough that he knows that the US Department of Agriculture, who works with this everyday, is "woefully off" in their numbers.  (Some quick advice for Doug Erickson - a follow up question of "what do you base that on?" would have been nice.).

This week has proven that Eric Hovde is a true humanitarian and all around amazing guy!  Just ask him!

PS:   Tammy Baldwin could use your help, since she will actually represent Wisconsin and not her own ego!

Eric Hovde Day 4 - It Wasn't Me!

Its been a busy week for Washington DC resident Eric Hovde .    First, he showed his true colors by whining about the press giving attention to poor people in America.  Then Day 2, after a little research, we found out he had no clue whatsoever about economics.  Then yesterday we found out that the fiscal conservative that he is bought a $2,000,000 plus vacation home in Madison so he could pretend he lives in WI.   So what happens on day 4?  Hovde speaks again!

What Hovde said is EXACTLY what you thought he would say.   He is the victim, he needs money to defend his poor poor self from the liberal media, and of course he never said what you heard him say, it was all the "liberal media's" fault.   Hovde

The Liberal Media is at it again, and our campaign is their target.
Infamous left-wing blogger Arianna Huffington and Reverend Al Sharpton have taken my words way out of context, and they are using their slanted view to rile up the liberal base from coast to coast.

At a Chamber of Commerce event last week, I was speaking about out-of-control government spending and widespread waste, fraud and abuse that plagues social programs such as Food Stamps.

When I decided to be honest with people and call out the media for ignoring the abuse of our Food Stamps program, Arianna pounced and plastered me on the front page of her website, claiming that I was sick of the press "whining about poor people."(which is exactly what he said we have the video)

What Arianna, Reverend Sharpton, and those who constantly demagogue this issue by playing class warfare never want to admit is that it’s out-of-control government spending and crushing debt that is putting all of our programs—including Food Stamps, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid—at risk.(Hovde doubles down on his economic ignorance - see Day 2)

So he is pulling more of though, i know you have the video but what I am saying on the video I did not really say, I am just being baselessly attacked by the Liberals.   I am sure Christian Schneider is working on a post making Hovde out to be Robin Hood as we speak!

So watch the video and then decide if Hovde is being uneccesarily attacked or if he is starting his Senate campaign lying to the people of Wisconsin!

PS:  Mr. Hovde if Arianne Huffington won't debate you, I will!

PS:  while Eric Hovde likes to brag about how much of his inherited millions he gives to charity, Cory @ Eye on Wisconsin has a great post today showing that where he really likes to give his money is other republicans.   It appears his favorite charity is buying friends.

Eric Hovde the Trilogy!

Two days ago we brought you the story of Eric Hovde, whining about and asking for prayers to stop, the media from incessantly talking about the poor people in our country! Then yesterday we pointed out, with the help from economist Dean Baker, that the root of Hovde's fear is NOT the debt crisis, but in fact Hovde's complete lack of knowledge and understand out the way our Government works. Now today, thanks to some great research from Cory @ Eye on Wisconsin, that maybe the guy who on a whim just randomly buys multi million dollar houses to live in might not be the best person to talk about or help us recover from the deficit. Especially since he is doing everything in his power to keep from disclosing his own financial records! Hovde, 20 year Washington DC resident, recently had to move back to Wisconsin to run for the Senate. So he picked up this little fixer upper on a whim. Of course when you can buy a $2 million dollar plus home as a vacation home, there are two things that are important to you. 1. Be very happy that your dad was rich and 2. try to avoid the poor people at all costs(they bring the property value down dont you know). The question is how long will he keep the home after he loses?

They Just Don't Get It

If they keep trying, maybe someday, they'll be like real people!
