Walworth County State Assembly Endorsements for 2016 Election!

By Joshua Skolnick

It's way past time we take this thing off the blocks, take the engine out of mothballs, and take 'er for another spin. Stay tuned for another  We are reviving Sustainable Walworth with our 2016 State Assembly endorsements, which the local paid media wouldn't bother to print. And let's not talk falsely now for the hour is getting late - therefore up on our blog. MAKE SURE YOU VOTE TOMORROW.

The quality of the environment in Walworth County is critical to our county’s tourism based economy. Without healthy clear lakes, forests, and rolling farmland for future generations, the county will lose much of its economic base and jobs. From Lake Geneva to the Kettle Moraine, our county has irreplaceable environmental resources that must be protected, and not exploited by a select few  and the politicians who want to enable them.  Clean water, clean air and clean local food benefit everyone and shouldn’t be a partisan issue.
In the not so distant past, protecting the environment was a priority in Wisconsin for everyone including both major political parties. Wisconsin was once an innovator and a pioneer in environmental protection, nurturing such thinkers and doers as John Muir, Aldo Leopold, John Curtis and Gaylord Nelson. Wisconsin had such firsts as holistic scientific wildlife management to protect entire ecosystems, restoring prairie, and heightening ecological awareness through Earth Day. As recently as 2001, a Republican governor, Scott McCallum, signed bipartisan legislation to increase the protection of isolated wetlands, left unprotected under Federal law.
Unfortunately, the environment has now become a partisan issue, thanks to the advent of single party rule in Madison.  Walworth County’s  incumbent state Assembly representatives, Tyler August (District 32) and Amy Loudenbeck (District 31), have backed an agenda that is failing our environment. In recent legislative sessions they  both voted to allow privatization of municipal water supplies, reduce the ability of local governments to protect their unique resources which has allowed developers and resource extractors free reign to exploit sensitive lands, allowed lake bottom dredging on public trust property by private property owners, and finally weakened shoreland zoning protections, which degrades the crown jewels of our local economy, our clear and clean lakes and their unique natural buffers.  Much of this  anti environmental legislation approved by the incumbents was rammed through quickly with little public debate in the course of a week in Madison.  I witnessed that opaque process.
This anti-environmental voting record in the 2016 state legislative session earned both August and Loudenbeck the dubious distinction of a zero rating from the non-partisan Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters.  However we can make a change on  November 8, 2016 to protect our environment by electing Christine Welcher to our 32nd Assembly District and Clinton Anderson to the 31st.  Christine and Clinton understand environmental protection and have been endorsed by state and local environmental groups. Christine is an organic farmer who understands the importance of protecting our food and water supply, and restoring local control so that the units of government closest to the people, can protect local lakes, farms, and forests.  Similarly Clinton realizes that we have a common interest in protecting environmental resources that benefit everybody,  instead of exploited for the gain of out of state resource industries such as Aqua America which benefit from privatizing water supplies for profit, and which provide canned legislation to the incumbents on their behalf.

WISGOP "We're With Hate"!

By Jeff Simpson

Image result for donald trumpToday The Donald will be back in Wisconsin, standing tall with his good friends and campaigning to try and be our next President.   Yes that is campaigning to be the next President of the United States.  The most powerful position in the world.   The person who will succeed President Barack Obama.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has looked at the people running and has thrown his support fully behind this guy.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan(R-Wall St), who can not seem to find the time to debate his opponent, did find the time to vote early for "our parties nominee.  The person who is third in line for the Presidency. did not even have the courage to say The Donald's name.   By the way, this is his parties nominee:

A witness who’s backing a woman’s child rape claims against Donald Trump also accused the Republican presidential nominee of sexually assaulting another, even younger girl.
Trump is due to appear in federal court Dec. 16 for a status conference after a judge allowed the lawsuit, which seeks $75,000 in damages, to move forward.
The alleged victim, identified in the suit as “Jane Doe,” claims Trump brutally raped her in 1994, when she was 13 years old, and threatened to harm her and her family if she talked.
Two other women — identified as “Joan Doe” and “Tiffany Doe” — have been added to the newer suit as witnesses.
Both witnesses say they worked as “party planners” for billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who paid them to “attract adolescent women” to events he hosted at the Wexner Mansion in New York.
Tiffany Doe says in court documents that she lured Jane Doe to a party with the promise of money and meeting contacts in the modeling industry.
She claims in the documents that she personally witnessed the girl being forced to engage in various sex acts with Trump and Epstein, who she said were aware of her age.
“I personally witnessed four sexual encounters that the Plaintiff was forced to have with Mr. Trump during this period, including the fourth of these encounters where Mr. Trump forcibly raped her despite her pleas to stop,” Tiffany Doe alleges.
Tiffany Doe said she also witnessed Trump forcing Jane Doe and a 12-year-old girl identified as “Maria” to perform oral sex on him and then physically abuse both of them afterward.
The woman said her job duties required her to “personally witness and supervise encounters between the underage girls that Mr. Epstein hired and his guests,” according to court documents.
Epstein, a financier who was also friends with Bill and Hillary Clinton, was convicted in 2008 of soliciting an underage girl for prostitution and served 13 months of an 18-year prison term.
Tiffany Doe said both Trump and Epstein threatened to harm Jane Doe if she ever revealed the physical and sexual abuse she endured — and she said the future GOP presidential nominee’s warning was particularly ominous.
“I personally witnessed Defendant Trump telling the Plaintiff that she shouldn’t ever say anything if she didn’t want to disappear like the 12-year-old female Maria, and that he was capable of having her whole family killed,” Tiffany Doe alleged.

Current United States Senator Ron Johnson (R-Class Rings), will also appear on stage with The Donald to talk about how important this guy becomes our next President:

Republican Assembly Majority Leader Robin Vos (R-Adultery) also firmly backs The Donald, I guess this endorsement helped him make up his mind:

Robin Vos has an opponent in Andy Mitchell who could really use your vote!  Here is his website and Facebook page.

Some others in Wisconsin like Pat Snyder, Jimmy Boy Edming(who made national news by jumping on the Trump train early), Mike Gallagher(the former Marine who supports the guy who said that he only likes the troops who weren't captured), Todd Novak, Glenn Grothman, Sean Duffy, among many others on the right in Wisconsin all support this thrice married guy who wrote this letter of sympathy to Kelly Preston and John Travolta when their teenage son tragically passed away:

I have always respected people who were loyal and faithful–which brings to mind Kelly Preston. A long time ago, before I was married, I met Kelly Preston at a club and worked like hell to try and pick her up. She was beautiful, personable, and definitely had allure. At the time I had no idea she was married to John Travolta.
In any event, my track record on this subject has always been outstanding, but Kelly wouldn’t give me the time of day. She was very nice, very elegant, but I didn’t have a chance with her, and that was that.
When I later found out she was married to John, I liked and respected her even more. Some people have values that matter to them, and she is one of them. Her loyalty was unwavering and I have always remembered that about her.
Being true to someone is very close to being true to yourself. That’s a valuable attribute in today’s world. I’m sure she was a wonderful mother to Jett and my thoughts are with her and her family after their terrible loss.

Yes the Wisconsin Republicans are ALL aboard the Trump Train, the problem is that train is rolling over, women, minorities, Muslims, disabled, children and anyone else who is not lily white middle age males.

Remember when you show up to vote, who is engineering the Trump train!

Robin Vos InAction

By Jeff Simpson

Wisconsin recently released the latest round of test scores.   Once again the public schools outperformed the voucher schools across the board

Students attending private schools receiving taxpayer-funded vouchers in a new statewide program did not score as high overall as public school students on state tests in reading and math, according to data released Tuesday by the Department of Public Instruction.

Perpetually, the data we receive shows public school students outperforming voucher school students.  Our goal should be that every child gets a great education, our future depends on it!    Unfortunately, the millions given to Wisconsin republicans have trumped all of the data and evidence that we have seen.

Despite all of the evidence that public schools outperform private schools, and all of the other problems we have in Wisconsin - Assembly speaker Robin Vos remains undettered:

Vos also slammed the national Common Core education standards, a policy that has drawn fierce criticism from tea party activists who describe it as a federal takeover of local education.
“We don’t need Common Core because Wisconsin expects higher standards,” said Vos.
He also voiced frustration over the compromise on voucher schools that passed the Legislature last year. The deal expanded the voucher system statewide but capped new participation to 500 students in the first year and 1000 in the second year, a minute change in the context of the millions of school children in the state.
“We should never have had a cap,” he said. “The next time around, that cap will be gone. “

Robin Vos flat out admits that the republican party platform, is to significantly weaken public education, with less transparency and at a greater cost to the taxpayers of WI.

Explain to me why you would vote republican this fall?

The people in the 63rd district have a choice this year, you can choose to stay with the adultering tax money wasting ALEC tool or you can hire someone with integrity, intelligence and actually knows the issues, - Andy Mitchell!

Please send Andy Mitchell to Madison in November!
