Thankfully the alleged gunman never made it past the security officers outside the White House Correspondents Dinner. The Secret Service did their job and took the suspect into custody and no one was hurt.
But here's my question and it bothers me a bit. Most media outlets reported and the prosecutor stated in court during the suspect's initial appearance, that law enforcement fired five shots during the incident. But the suspect didn't suffer any type of gunshot wound. Highly trained and supposedly highly skilled officers who were probably within five or ten or twenty feet of the suspect fired their guns and he wasn't hit?
Thankfully no one else suffered a gun shot wound as a result of police actions but where did those bullets go? Five shots as close range and the suspect wasn't hit? Why isn't anyone asking about the training of the agents on the scene. If they hadn't been able to tackle him quickly, could he have made it into the dinner hall because the officers on duty couldn't shoot straight?
No one thinks this odd?
