If you are reading Cog Dis, you are probably well aware that WI Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is retiring at the end of the current Assembly term. Although some Dems have said a few nice things about him, I for one am eager to see him gone. One of the lead henchmen in the Scott Walker cabal he has done very very few things that have been of any good to the state of Wisconsin. For instance cutting shared revenues to schools and local government have financially strangled these fine institutions and put that at risk of failure.
Ironically in part of his farewell statements 'Vos said he's been served well by trying to be a "good listener" and trying to discern "where we can find common ground."' (this excerpt is behind a paywall at jsonline. com, sorry).
Find common ground? Vos has been the most divisive politician in the state in decades. Wasn't he a main driver in the lame duck session between Gov. Evers November election back in the day and his taking office...where the GOP removed any number of important executive branch responsibilities and authorities? Yes, Vos was the guy.
Well...if his reasons for leaving are true, this should be the last time we see Robin Vos in public office and hopefully never ever see him in cabinet level slush fund rewards.
