The Democratic Party of Wisconsin Isn't Being Helpful Here.

This article has been in been in the back of my mind for weeks, so finally, I am releasing it to the wild.

As all of our readers are sure to know, Governor Tony Evers is not running for re-election. So there is a plethora of Democrats running in the August primary. And initially there were a number of Republicans as well but earlier in 2026 there were only two. They were U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany and Washington County Exec. Josh Schoemann.

And then Donald Trump endorsed Rep. Tiffany and almost immediately Exec. Schoemann dropped out of the race.

When putting together an article on the subject for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reporter Molly Beck apparently contacted the DPW and? : 'A spokeswoman for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin issued a statement on Schoemann's exit that simply said, "Who?"'

Now, any of those you follow me here or followed me in earlier iterations know that I certainly dabble in snark and satire in a grand manner. And I can appreciate this bit of snark from that perspective but given the divide and animosity in contemporary politics, this isn't particularly helpful coming from a spokesperson for a major party.

A better reply might have been? It's too bad that the Republican party isn't willing to provide Republican voters and Republican leaning voters with an opportunity to select their own candidate for Wisconsin governor.

And remember, the Wisconsin primary is August 11 , 2026
