Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth everyone, enjoy the day!

And tell us what is on your mind!

If You Can Keep It

By Jeff Simpson

“Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”

“A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Ben Franklin

Well that was in 1787 and we know now that what Our Founders truly gave us was a Constitutionally limited democratic republic.    See as James Madison pointed out, you could use the words democracy and republic interchangeably so the distinction is not there the way some uninformed "tea partiers" like to pretend it is.  However that is for another day.

The focus of this post is another part of this quote:

"If You Can Keep It"!

With the Republicans running this country......I highly doubt it!

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day! Thanks to everyone for welcoming me here!

"These are the times that try mens’ souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." Thomas Paine.
