Scott Walker's Quote Of The Day

On Sunday, Scott Walker appeared on Face the Nation to tout his suddenly attained foreign policy chops by being a glorified tourist in six foreign countries.

Also from the show comes this wonderful little blurb:
"As a governor, you have to put a cabinet in place and hopefully you pick people as smart or smarter than you on any given topic," he remarked. "I think that's something that's required of a successful president."
I think Walker could easily do that.

In fact, I think it would be impossible to find someone that is not at least as smart, if not smarter, than Walker.

Even easier would be to find someone more ethical.

Quote of the Day

The gentle reader might remember Ryan Ekvall, the corporate propagandist that stalks and smears young women and practices McCarthyism on Kindergarteners.  Today, he brings us the quote of the week:
...Wisconsin Reporter detailed in a previous story, sometimes conflates things lawmakers say, which leads to misleading articles with incorrect ratings.
Um, yeah.

Quote of the Day

"He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it." - Martin Luther King, Jr. King
Sadly, there are many today who will try to rationalize not only their tolerance of evil, but their aiding and abetting it.

Quote of the Day

Shakespeare did have some good soundbites, especially this one:
"It is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Anti-Privatization Quote of the Day

People are increasingly fighting back against privatization and all the problems that come with it:
“The fact is, when taxpayers see what they lose by handing over control of their roads, prisons and other services, they don’t want anything to do with outsourcing," says Donald Cohen, chair of In The Public Interest, a resource center on privatization. "We hope that what we’re seeing in places like New Jersey, Texas, Kentucky and Fresno is part of a trend to restore control of services to American taxpayers.”
Would someone print this out and point it out to Scott Walker and his protege, Chris Abele, please.

Quotable

"Mere passive citizenship is not enough, men must be aggressive for what is right if government is to be saved from those that are aggressive for what is wrong! There is work for everyone. The call comes to every citizen. It is an unending struggle to make and keep government representative. It is our patriotic duty" - Robert LaFollette, former Governor of Wisconsin and father of the progressive movement.

Quote of the Day

As I had figured, it looks like the Republicans will be having a gubernatorial primary as well.

The first challenger that wants to restore some sense of honor and integrity to the Republicans is a chap out of New Glarus.  Blue cheddar's got the skinny on this fellow, Patrick O'Brien, who also gives us the quote of the day:
”I thought he was running as a brown bag Republican,” O’Brien said. “What we were getting was a brown shirt Republican.”
Reminds me of another great quote from a ultra-conservative, my father:
"A conservative tyrant is just as bad as a liberal tyrant."
