Scott Walkers, meltdown continues. As we pointed out earlier, Madison Mayor Paul Soglin entering the Governors race has really gotten under Walker's skin.
The last thing we need is more Madison in our lives, says the Madison resident. The last thing we need is more Madison in our lives. @Paulsoglin is the latest extreme liberal who wants to take our state backward -- just like he did in Madison, where businesses have left and murders have gone up. We want to go forward.— Scott Walker (@ScottWalker) January 10, 2018
But wait, there's more:
.@ScottWalker notes that murders have gone up in Madison under @Paulsoglin. The 10 last year tied 2008 for record high. But under @GovWalker, homicides statewide have increased from 138 in 2011, his first year in office, to 230 in 2016, the most recent year available https://t.co/DjqCgOB380— Scott Bauer (@sbauerAP) January 10, 2018
But wait there is even more yet! This is a big one:
.@ScottWalker says "the last thing we need is more Madison in our lives" while his @WEDCNews launches $1 million ad campaign promoting Madison, Wisconsin with one spot showing people having drinks with Capitol in the background, others boating on Lake Monona https://t.co/DjqCgOB380— Scott Bauer (@sbauerAP) January 10, 2018
Actually, the $1,000,000 figure is rather low, Scott Walker has asked for another $6.8 million dollars of taxpayer money, to expand their ad campaign of selling Madison, to our neighbors from the South.
Not that you need to sell Madison:
By the way Scott, to borrow one of your favorite taglines, It is Working!, at least in Paul Soglin's Madison!
Congratulations, Madison! You have lower unemployment than Wisconsin overall and decreased unemployment at a greater rate (62.5% to 60.5%) than the State since 2010. https://t.co/RB9asgnUb0— Max D (@MaxMKE) January 10, 2018
I wonder if the stress of the campaign, especially with such a poor record to run on, is too much stress for Mr. Walker too handle!
In a career full of saying really stupid things, this could top the list!
Its also interesting to note that people are flocking to Madison in a state that has actually been losing working age population since Walker took office. People follow the opportunities. If it were not for Madison the State would meet the metrics of a recession. http://host.madison.com/ct/news/data/wisconsin-population-trends-show-urban-areas-growing-rural-areas-shrinking/article_96978d1b-31c0-5def-8715-efde4e3700aa.html
