Scott Walker - Wrong Again

By Jeff Simpson

I know he did not register much of a blip on the radar screen, but for those of you who remember, that Scott Walker actually thought he could be President of the United States.   After 71 days and blowing $7 MILLION dollars(he still owes the taxpayers of WI hundreds of thousands of dollars), he dropped out of the race while polling 0%.

One of his major issues(and really everyone on the R side who is running for President) is they are going to "rebuild the military" after President Obama has "destroyed' it.

On ISIS, Walker stated(amphasis mine), "you've got to take them out entirely--it takes a combination of building up force in terms of the United States military, which I think has fallen to woefully low levels here, it standing up with our allies like Israel, it means working with other allies around the world, but it also means making partners even in the Arab world--Jordan, certainly Turkey, Saudi Arabia and others--Egypt, for sure, of late have seen what's happened, they want a leader in America."
For those of our friends on the right who spend their day with Obama Derangment Syndrome, this just happened:

BATH, Maine (AP) - The largest destroyer ever built for the U.S. Navy headed out to sea for the first time Monday, departing from shipbuilder Bath Iron Works and carefully navigating the winding Kennebec River before reaching the open ocean where the ship will undergo sea trials.
More than 200 shipbuilders, sailors and residents gathered to watch as the futuristic 600-foot, 15,000-ton USS Zumwalt glided past Fort Popham, accompanied by tugboats.
Kelley Campana, a Bath Iron Works employee, said she had goose bumps and tears in her eyes.
"This is pretty exciting. It's a great day to be a shipbuilder and to be an American," she said. "It's the first in its class. There's never been anything like it. It looks like the future."
Larry Harris, a retired Raytheon employee who worked on the ship, watched it depart from Bath.
"It's as cool as can be. It's nice to see it underway," he said. "Hopefully, it will perform as advertised."
Bath Iron Works will be testing the ship's performance and making tweaks this winter. The goal is to deliver it to the Navy sometime next year.
"We are absolutely fired up to see Zumwalt get underway. For the crew and all those involved in designing, building, and readying this fantastic ship, this is a huge milestone," the ship's skipper, Navy Capt. James Kirk, said before the ship departed.
The ship has electric propulsion, new radar and sonar, powerful missiles and guns, and a stealthy design to reduce its radar signature. Advanced automation will allow the warship to operate with a much smaller crew size than current destroyers.
All of that innovation has led to construction delays and a growing price tag. The Zumwalt, the first of three ships in the class, will cost at least $4.4 billion.

So a $4.4 billion dollar new naval destroyer is proof that our military is decimated?  The so called fiscal conservatives want to drastically increase our military budget while cutting on social services?

Think about that when going to the polls in November!!

Scott Walker's Latest Message: "I Will Spend Your Money!"

By Jeff Simpson

Scott Walker has changed his campaign strategy more times than Cher changes costumes.   This time though, he has decided to campaign on the same ideology as his hero - Ronald Reagan.

Scott Walker has decided to go all in with his latest message  -  "I will spend your money!"

While interupting the work and studies at The Citadel, Scott Walker gave a speech where he exclaimed with glee, that he can not wait to be president so that he can use his Commander in Chief status to start invading countries.

Even though we currently spend well north of $700 Billion on Defense(more than the next 21 countries combined), Scott Walker (never very good at math), has vowed to get serious and really start spending on Defense!

Saying the U.S. military has been weakened by budget measures, Walker called for reversing that trend, saying that defeating ISIS and containing Iran would require a "greater investment of U.S. resources."
Of course, the U.S Resources that he has no problem spending is soldier's lives but that is for another post.

Scott Walker however, is all in with the spending spree.  He then granted an interview with a local paper in New Hampshire where he used his time to whine about Hillary Clinton and show his complete lack of understanding of the free market.

Walker also took a jab at Clinton for charging colleges and universities more than $225,000 for appearances, as he froze tuition at Wisconsin state schools for four years.
“I’m doing this for free, by the way,” he said.
Forgetting the fact, there is obviously a DEMAND for Hillary to speak and there is NO DEMAND for Scott Walker to speak, let's take a look at his "doing it for free" statement.

Scott Walker currently makes $144,423/yr with full Cadillac Benefits(way better healthcare plan than yours) and an incredibly generous pension.   Scott Walker, also has complete use of the state plane and the biggest security detail ever in Wisconsin - all paid for by you and I and the rest of the Wisconsin taxpayers.

So technically, everything that Scott Walker is doing is free - to him, not to us!  Scott Walker, being a career politician has never had much of a sense of money.  He just knows that thanks to us, he wants for nothing.

Psychotherapist Blows Whistle On Poor Care For Marines

This is just inexcusable:
A civilian psychiatrist says Marines treated at Camp Lejeune had to undergo treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder for nearly two years in temporary trailers where servicemen could hear bomb blasts, war cries and machine-gun fire.

Servicemen tell The Associated Press they had trouble focusing on their treatment. The military says it is looking into the complaints from Dr. Kernan Manion. He says he was fired after complaining about conditions at the base.

Manion says his patients were disturbed by shouting Marines who trained nearby.

Officials said good care is provided and artillery fire can be heard nearly anywhere on the base.

Officials said the eight trailers were used until a permanent clinic was finished in September.

This is what happens when you don't listen to the people that know what they are talking about, and not just being a good parrot.

Thank God we got rid of the previous administration and let us hope that no one like them ever gains power again.

The Power Of Sykes And Other False Arguments Regarding Summerfest

Almost every day, I hear and see a lot of incredible and ridiculous things. Today was no exception.

It started out this morning, with Charlie Sykes pleading his case about how he really is still is significant, even though this is not actually the case.

Today's delusion of grandeur de Sykes was premised on an article in the morning paper that didn't even mention him. The article tells of how the army has reinstated a modified version of the virtual war game at Summerfest. Instead of killing people, the player would should at generic targets.

To me it seemed like a logical compromise. Some of my liberal allies felt disappointment at Summerfest's official statement regarding it. As for me, well I learned while a guard at the House of Correction, "it doesn't matter what they say, as long as they do what you want them to do."

The army reinstated another, less-offensive version of the game. Sykes and his crew of squawking sycophants failed to get the original game reinstated, which was their goal. This means they lost. But Sykes merely moved the goal posts, ignored reality, smeared a liberal and falsely claimed he led his faithful listeners to victory. This was, of course, echoed by his minions that probably didn't even know what they were talking about.

If that was too hard to follow, Other Side has a nice, graphic way of explaining it.

Now for the other fallacies...

Some on the right claim that the game only tried to show what the life of a soldier was really like. That is also a lie. It glamorizes war, and doesn't represent the whole picture. It doesn't show the wounded comrades. It doesn't show the dead comrades. It doesn't show the wounded and dead Iraqi civilians, that the soldier may have been forced to kill, or were killed by others. It doesn't talk about the unseen wounds that are brave men and women have to contend with, even after they have returned to their homes.

Some on the right have complained that there apparently is a tent nearby that allows people to play Grand Theft Auto. This too is a false argument. Grand Theft Auto, however inappropriate it may be, is privately paid for by the company that makes it. The Army pays for their stand with our tax dollars.

Some have also called the people that protested this game as "anti-military thugs" which, besides being an oxymoron, is also ironic, considering that some of those that called Summerfest on it are veterans themselves. To make it even more ironic, the same people that mislabel the left are the same ones who back McCain, who has a record of not supporting veterans or veteran benefits.

Support Your Friendly Neighborhood Summerfest

The U.S. Army has a stand on the Summerfest grounds aimed at recruiting volunteers. That's fine and dandy, and I have no issue with that.

However, this year, they have added a media component in which participants and play a game of "virtual war." Apparently it was designed with the intent of showing the life of a soldier in today's army.

Members of a group called Peace Action Wisconsin and another group called Veteran for Peace called and filed their complaints with the Summerfest people, which then asked the Army to take that part down. The Army cooperated without hesitation.

As predicted by James Rowen, this got the feathers of Chickenhawk Sykes and his band of squawkers all ruffled. They are now trying to exert their power of selective outrage against Summerfest to coerce them into allowing the video game.

Keep in mind that the Army is still there and they're still recruiting. It's just the virtual war game that has been stopped. But that fact doesn't seem to stop the right wingers from being mad as wet hens.

Now, you may be asking yourself, "What can we do to stop them from bullying around the Summerfest officials?" The answer is simple. Call Summerfest yourself, at 414-273-2690, and thank them for taking the actions that they have, and to express your wish that they don't back off from their decision.
