White Wisconsin - Now Even Whiter!

By Jeff Simpson

In Charlottsville, VA, there was a huge rally of white supremacists, Nazis, and random Republicans who showed up with tiki torches to fight mosquitoes and the taking down of a statue of the Confederate traitor General Robert E Lee.

In Lexington, KY, the mayor said that after the tragedy in VA, all Confederate statues would be coming down.

In North Carolina, protesters pulled down a statue of a Confederate Soldier.

Seeing a pattern here?

Finally, Americans are waking up to the fact that the Civil War was not nostalgic, but a huge black eye on our History.  The Civil War was a few states were AntiAmerican traitors who attacked America from within.   in the four years of the Civil War, 620,000 Americans were killed.  All so some rich white people would be allowed to keep slaves and get free labor.

However, unsurprisingly, RightWisconsin, now run by Jamie Wigderson, looks at the Confederate Statues coming down as an opportunity to rid our history of Progressives.

It’s time for the statue of Robert La Follette at the National Statuary Hall Collection in the U.S. Capitol to come down. While we’re at it, let’s remove the bust of La Follette from the Capitol in Madison as well. There will be protests. But let’s face it, the Progressive Era is over. Thank God.
Wisconsin is now a red state, won fairly by former Governor Tommy Thompson (three times), Governor Scott Walker (three times) and President Donald Trump*. We re-elected a conservative senator in a presidential year, Ron Johnson, when every pundit said it couldn’t be done. The majority of our representation to Congress is conservative. Conservatives control the state Assembly and the state Senate with record numbers, and conservatives even control the state Supreme Court 5-2.
* I guess the self proclaimed "never Trumper" is now "all Trump all the time".

Most people see that it is time we stop fantasizing the Confederacy and realize it is a racist, black mark  and tragic time in America and stop honoring the traitors of the South.

Not Right Wisconsin, they feel since some "snowflakes" want some statues removed, that now would be a good time to rid ourselves of Wisconsin's Progressive past.

Since this is a borderline racist column, full of dog whistles, it is only fitting that they recommend that Judge William Rehnquisr and Tommy Thompson be the statues that we replace Fighting Bob with.

Rehnquist's legacy is one of suppressing African American and Latino voters, so of course he would be a favorite of Jimmy Wigdersons.

Wiggy also mentioned Tommy Thompson as a second statue for WISGOP to put up.  Since he was one of the most vociferous voices for the individual mandate in Obamacare, I could live with that.

However, since it is Jimmy Wigderson we are discussing, let me nominate two people for statues who better embody the true spirit of the WISGOP:

1. Has to be Joe Mccarthy.  No one embodies WISGOP values of paranoia, hatred, BS and outright lies than McCarthy.

2.  I would recommend, someone Wiggy has mentioned as the perfect rep = Wild Bill Kramer!

Yes we did not think it possible, but "White Wisconsin ---- Now even Whiter!!!"

Trump is Not An Anomaly

By Jeff Simpson

As you have probably heard by now, The Donald has attacked Scott Walker over the weekend

“Finally, I can attack!” Trump said at a packed rally at Oskaloosa High School. “Wisconsin’s doing terribly. It’s in turmoil. The roads are a disaster because they don’t have any money to rebuild them. They’re borrowing money like crazy. They projected a $1 billion surplus, and it turns out to be a deficit of $2.2 billion. The schools are a disaster. The hospitals and education was a disaster. And he was totally in favor of Common Core!

Of course nothing he is saying there is out of the ordinary or a big surprise.  Everyone who lives in Wisconsin, and/or pays attention knows that he is speaking the truth.   Mary Burke knew it but for reasons unexplained would never discuss it.   The rest of the Republican candidates know it to be true, they just refuse to say anything because Ron Reagan told them not to.

The mainstream media in Wisconsin knows it too, they refuse to discuss it because they do not want to lose access to the politicians that have brought us this mess.   The right wing bloviators like  Christian Schneider, Charley Sykes, Rick Esenberg and Jimmy Wigderson all understand it also, but their actual job is to make sure YOU don't understand it.  Despite what you would think when you actually read their drivel, they are not dumb people.  They know that the best way to keep money coming in is to muddy the waters and make sure that when these truthful stories do leak out that people don't believe them or at the very least question them.

Do not let the media paint Donald Trump as too far out there to be part of the group.   The Donald is not an anomaly as part of the clown car, he just has no filter and is saying what every one else who is part of the right wing circus, are thinking but too scared to say.

Kevin Binversie, Right Wisconsin and Sexual Misconduct

By Jeff Simpson

The Republican party has always had their problems with sexual deviants.   From Bill Kramer and Robin Vos in Wisconsin to Joe Scarborough and Newt Gingrich nationally.

The Republicans do a real good job of touting themselves as the "family values" party while all of these things are happening.  With a few hundred millions of dollars to advertise, a compliant media and toothless opposition, they are able to actually get away with it.

However there are other skeletons in their closet that they can not always get away with.  This is when Republicans in the inner circle go after young boys.   From former Congressman Mark Foley to Scott Walker's right hand man Tim Russell.

When these stories come out, the right wing echo chamber pounces.  Remember when Jimmy Wigderson defended preying on underage kids by Russell /Pierick ?

Then there is the case of Brian Pierick, Russell’s paramour, who was caught texting with a 17-year-old who claimed he was 19. I think it would be pretty hard to imagine that this crime took a three-year John Doe investigation to solve. Pierick got probation.
It’s hard to imagine that any of these crimes needed the time and resources invested by the Milwaukee district attorney’s office. Unfortunately, we may never know the full cost of the investigation. The district attorney’s office denied a request by the MacIver Institute to find out how many hours staff worked on the investigation.
Now Right Wisconsin and their wingnut welfare employee Kevin Binversie is at it again.

We’ve written in the past on multiple occasions about how both Russ Feingold and Tammy Baldwin are clinging to donations from New Jersey Democratic Senator Bob Menendez. Menendez was indicted back in April by the FBI for alleged violations of campaign donation limits and the acceptance of illegal gifts. Both Feingold and Baldwin received $5,000 from Menendez in 2010 and 2012 respectively. Baldwin has maintained a stance that she will only return the money if or when Menendez is convicted, while Feingold’s campaign has never responded to press inquiries related to the contribution.
Fast forward to the recent scandal that has surrounded former Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives Dennis Hastert. Like Menendez, during Hastert’s years in politics he maintained a leadership PAC which handed out donations to members of his party.
So Right Binversie has been hounding Democrats to give back campaign donations for the corrupt Menendez.   Hilarious, considering they work for the formerly convicted felon Scott Jensen but Hypocrisy is a value of theirs.
What sickens me however is this:

Fast forward to the recent scandal that has surrounded former Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives Dennis Hastert. Like Menendez,

There is nothing about Menendez that is "Like" Hastert.   Hastert was busted paying off someone who he messed with when the victim was underage, to the tune of millions of dollars.  Menendez is like our former Speaker without the benefit of a Waukesha county trial and a get out of jail free card by Brad Schimel.

Leave it to the right wing echo chamber, and their win at ALL costs mentality to equate politics with preying on underage children.

It is rather disgusting when these people use their forum to protect people who prey on children.

Edit Note:   Just wanted to share some pure delicious irony regarding Dennis Hastert and his recent arrest courtesy of Larisa Alexandrovna Horton:

Oh the absolutely delicious irony of the Denny Hastert indictment. If you have not heard about this, Google is your friend. For the rest of you, let's just recap the hilarity of this situation:
1. Hastert was hardly investigated let alone indicted for the myriad of allegations ranging from bribery to money laundering.
2. Hastert was hardly investigated let alone indicted for the myriad of allegations involving leaking state secrets to foreign actors in exchange for cash.
3. Hastert was hardly investigated let alone indicted for the myriad of allegations relating to his own days as a lobbyist
4. Hastert was hardly investigated let alone indicted for the myriad of allegations pertaining to his well-timed real estate investments
5. Finally (and according to the indictment of yesterday), Hastert was hardly investigated let alone indicted for alleged improprieties with a possible minor/student of his.
4. Hastert was hardly investigated let alone indicted for the myriad of allegations pertaining to his well-timed real estate investments5. Finally (and according to the indictment of yesterday), Hastert was hardly investigated let alone indicted for alleged improprieties with a possible minor/student of his.Yet, Hastert was investigated for withdrawing money from his OWN bank account - the withdrawn funds were NOT used for any criminal purpose. He was indicted because he a). attempted to hide withdrawing money from his OWN bank account (for use in non-criminal purposes) and b). for lying to the FBI about why he was withdrawing his OWN money. Why is this so ironic you ask (ridiculous, yes, but why ironic?). Because thanks to Hastert's own hand at pushing through the infamous Patriot Act, the FBI was able to use provisions in the PA to conduct this ridiculous investigation of Hastert withdrawing his OWN money from his OWN bank account to use for non-criminal purposes. How I love the smell of delicious, oven-baked, irony such as this!
Updated: see here, no really:http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Dennis_Hastert

Edit Note 2 - If some unGodly set of circumstances happen and we elect Scott Walker President, Scott Walker would renew the Patriot Act.

A little Irony in your Tea?

The racine version of the Koch brothers funded "tea party" held a rally this weekend and it was dripping and housed in irony!

Yes it was ironic that the group that desperately supported intellectual lightweight Eric Hovde & adamantly opposed Tommy Thompson would then have him as their main speaker.

It was also ironic that the big spending, deficit creating, former bush administration big government offiicial Tommy Thompson was the main speaker for the "taxed enough already' party.

It was very ironic that 71 year old Tommy Thompson, who was first elected to the Wisconsin Assembly 32 years ago, call for "new leaders".

It was ironic to see Pam Stevens talk about fiscal responsibility.

It was ironic to see a Navy Seal tout Mitt Romney of all people.

It was very ironic to see someone at the "tea party" talk about personal responsibility.

However, the most ironic part of the day was the location:

held in the warehouse at 6200 Regency West Drive that previously housed Sam’s Club.
No place is better to house a "tea party" rally than a closed down warehouse that carries a bunch of cheap sh*t from China that no one really wants or needs!

ICYMI:  Wiggy is still lying  and Fred is just ridiculous.

One thing they did accomplish though, is to hire a spooksmodel!

The Heart of the Matter

There is starting to be a trend happening in Wisconsin.   Recently 2 people associated with the republican party have been attacked.  The first was Senator Kedzie's son in Whitewater(probably just stupid college hormones but we will see)  The second was a homosexual volunteer on the Chad Lee campaign(leave this kid alone, he obviously has other issues).

While I condemn any and all acts of violence during the election season, as do all dems, our friends on the right seem to be downright giddy about it!

I am going to leave those attacks right there, we will see what the ACTUAL investigations lead too, and then bring the facts and findings back here for discussion!   What I want to discuss is the attacks on the truth and actual history that the righties have done since Senator Kedzie  told us he was so upset about his son getting attacked, his first act was to send a press release to Mark Belling.

The leading person attacking the truth has been Jimmy WIgderson!   Wiggy, not one who has ever been known for interesting reading OR using facts, is at it again!  While the rest of the state is in a wait and see mode to see where the facts lead in these cases, Sherlock Wigderson has already done the investigation, held a trial and declared all democrats guilty.

"Somebody remind me again about the peaceful left."
What exactly does the left have to do with anything?   As we always say here, just wait there is more.  Perpetual Victim and Bullshit artist Wiggy whines about the tough times the republicans have had in our state and blames all violence everywhere on the left!   I wonder if Wiggy is related to Paul Ryan

Let's take a look at what the right wing paid propagandists are saying(we have to do it here, because we are banned there):

In Fond Du Lac, a Republican candidate for state Senate, Rick Gudex, says that his yard signs were thrown down on the ground, the vandals turned his American flag upside-down, and they broke some landscaping stones in his yard. Gudex says this was not the first attack on his home. His son’s truck was egged in the driveway.

Poor Rick Gudex maybe he can call up Dan Kapanke who was also attacked often for support

It shouldn’t surprise anyone when we hear about incidents like this. After all, for the last two years in Madison Republican legislators and staffers have been living in a state of siege in the Capitol. We’re finally getting a measure of law and order under the new Capitol police chief.

Nothing says "law and order" like arresting people with an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper saying "I heart blood donors".   It is sad that someone who pretends to be a political pundit has never read the Constitution!

You can point to the leadership. Gudex doesn’t believe the incumbent, Democratic state Sen. Jessica King, has anything to do with the vandalism at his home, and we all hope he’s right.

BUT we are not quite sure, there is a possibility that Senator King could be out staling Gudex and stealing his signs.  Since there is some doubt maybe we should have re-elected Randy Hopper after all!

But it probably doesn’t help the calls for civility when the spokesman for the Democratic Party in Wisconsin, Graeme Zielinski, is on Twitter accusing Republicans of not being Christians because they disagree with him. Holy McCarthyism, Graeme.

Unfortunately there is only one Reince Priebus!  Of course no one on the right could ever offend Wiggy on twitter, if they did he would definitely call them on it! As for the Christian thing, maybe Graeme was onto something

Nor does it help when Vice President Joe Biden, at a nationally televised debate with Wisconsin’s own Congressman Paul Ryan, thinks being rude, obnoxious, and even inappropriately giggly somehow makes him a “winner.” Turns out he was a “winner” like Charlie Sheen, but that didn’t stop so many of the talking heads of the political left from cheering on the juvenile delinquent behavior.

Maybe if Paul Ryan had at least made an attempt to tell the truth once, Biden would not have been so amused!

I remember when President Barack Obama was running in 2008, he promised a new tone in Washington. After the attempted killing of Congressman Gabby Giffords, Obama again called upon the American public to try to restore civility to politics.

Now we are supposed to believe that Joe Biden laughing Paul Ryan off the stage will be the cause of the next shooting.  The right are doing the best they can to remain civil but it is so hard when the dems are so crazy.

Other than that, Obama himself has done so much to poison the political discourse in this country, and his party has followed his lead.

Not so much!

That’s not to say that Republicans are perfectly innocent in this melodrama (although I’m waiting for the first angry mob of taxpayers to climb through the Capitol windows).

Yes republicans could do more to help restore civility, but for the life of me, I can not think of an instance where they could have improved their behavior!   The problem is here Wiggy is flat out lying again.   First of all, there was a court order to open the Capitol to the public which the walker administration blatantly ignored.    Secondly, I guess Wiggy thinks that the teachers, firefighters, police officers, county workers, state workers, stay at home parents, grandparents, clergy, union workers, professionals, etc.... who protested at the Capitol are not taxpayers?

But at some point the anger really needs to stop. We should be able to disagree without angry threats and acts of vandalism being used to intimidate people.

As with any problem, we can not end it unless we acknowledge it.   The people who have been paying attention understand where the problem is coming from.  Republican Thugs  are responsible for a vast majority of the violent incidences in scott walker's Wisconsin(from Jeffrey Radle, to Linda Lorino, to Phil Dziki, to Scott Fitzgerald the instances are too numerous to recount).   While our friends on the right refuse to ever acknowledge any of these incidents, they seem to even enjoy when an incident affects someone on the right!

A perfect example happened recently where Wisconsin Democratic chairman Mike Tate called upon the Wisconsin RNC chair(whoever that is), to issue a joint press release condemning all attacks on anyone based on politics.   The unknown RNC chair originally agreed to it then flip flopped and declined.   Wonder why?

From Mike Tate:

Earlier today I called my counter part at the RPW to ask if he would do a joint statement with me decrying the violence and other criminal acts that have occurred to people displaying Obama and Romney signs. Clearly we both deplore these terrible acts and everyone has the right to display support for their candidate of choice without fear. He initially agreed, then called back to say they didn't want to do a joint statement. I told him I felt it was a real missed opportunity for us to demonstrate some civility. Sadly they chose a different path and I find it symbolic of how the leaders in the Republican Party behave today.

Now that we have seen how there is violence on both sides, but heavily weighted towards the right,   and that when violence is perpetrated towards someone on the right, the right wing blargosphere just cant blame the left enough!   You can see the smile on their face when the story hits the wire

However, let us get to the heart of the matter.  While we have always been divided politically since the birth of the nation we have a split here in Wisconsin that goes beyond that.   The one thing about it, and how to fix it is to acknowledge it and find out where it started.   Here we acknowledge the problem, and now here is where it all started:

The Cure:

If you are thinking of stealing a sign and/or abusing someone of the opposite party, STOP!  Channel that anger/energy and write a LTE to your favorite candidate,    If you have stolen a sign put it back.

However, most importantly, VOTE on NOVEMBER 6th!!!

A Few Observations

1.   If Scott Walker is so wildly popular, why is former Assembly leader Jeff Fitgerald(Fitz the lesser) and one of the people most responsible for passing Scott Walker's agenda polling a whopping 6%?   Yet Washington DC resident, Eric Hovde, who had absolutely nothing to do with Scott Walker is leading in the polling?   Even the astroturf koch brother's operation, Freedomworks, run by the vile dick armey has endorsed Washington DC resident Eric Hovde!   Even paid hack and perpetual fabricator Wiggy, took a very informal poll and Fitzgerald finished a far distant fourth.

I guess the scott walker coattails are not very long!   Fitzgerald appears to be running on his record, it just appears as though he is running in sand(or his record is that bad).

2.  Hmmmmmmmm

3.  Eric Hovde is worse than Tommy Thompson???

4.  Mark Neumann takes time away from hating gays to attack Eric Hovde:

5. Finally, George W. Bush was awesome!!  Just ask him.   Ummmm George:

Bush left office in 2009 with a 22 percent approval rate, making him one of history’s least-liked presidents, according to CBS News. In all, 73 percent said they did not approve of the way he ran the country for eight years.

Wiggy Needs an Editor!

We all know that the blog Wigderson's Pub is written with no regards for the facts and is appropriately named because it is written with the same fantasy aspects as a drunk in the bar telling a story.   One piece was particularly laughable, his "interview" with Eric Hovde.   It appears with the glowing recommendation and lack of reality that Wiggy is applying for a job with Eric Hovde, instead of reporting reality.

Let's take look at a few highlights:

Hovde is running for the Republican nomination to replace retiring Sen. Herb Kohl. There are three other strong candidates in the race: former Gov. Tommy Thompson, Speaker of the Assembly Jeff Fitzgerald, and former congressman Mark Neumann.
Let's see we have ancient Tommy Thompson, who can not even remember the date of 9/11 homophobe, bigot professional jobber Mark Neumann, and former assemblyman Jeff Fitzgerald, of the suck off the taxpayer teat Fitzgerald Family, who has also raised a total of .36 cents for his campaign.  If this is a strong field, I would be interested to see what a weak field looks like. Wait I found a perfect example

Thompson is the favorite in the race
Tommy G Thompson finished a very distant fourth in the endorsement vote at the Wisconsin state republican convention.    This beats last year's when he was not allowed to attend.

Hovde says that what separates him out from the other candidates is his private-sector background. Unlike the other candidates, Hovde says, he is not a career politician.
Unlike the other candidates, Hovde does not live in Wisconsin.

“We’re dealing with an economic crisis. As I say to people, when you get a brain tumor you’re going to want the best brain surgeon you can find. If you’ve got a heart ailment, you’re going to want the best heart doctor you can find.
 So Hovde Supports Obamacare!!!!!

“If you’re having an economic crisis, you’re going to want (someone) that can understand the economy inside and out, and how to deal with these issues.”
Oops, Hovde just pointed out why he is immensely unqualifed to be the next WI senator.

Lack of ethics. Lack of morals. The culture turns bad.
Interesting Hovde, can't stand Robin Vos either.

A lot of Republican establishment guys complain about the tea party movement,” he said. “It saved the Republican Party, because it pulled (the party) back to what it’s supposed to be about.”
Now it is just getting weird, according to Hovde, if the "tea party" is what the republican party is supposed to be about, then that means the republican party stands for HATE, badly misspelled signs and really ugly American flag shirts!

This is not a replay of 2010, when businessman Ron Johnson filled a vacuum. This time around, Republicans have a choice between some very substantial candidates.

Umm Ron Johnson is as smart as a vacuum and Wiggy just spit on the memory and hard work of Dave Westlake!

Dr. Tim's Comedy Tour

local "tea party" speaker and comedian, Dr, Tim Nerenz, is at it again.  Earlier this year, he had a routine where he completely misconstrued and lied about the protests and the recalls.   While his blog is one of the funniest around(although I am not sure that comedy is what he is shooting for), he occasionally comes up with some that stand out.

He did it again. This time trying to attack the Wisconsin Pension system.

If government securities will return only 3%, then corporate investments must return 10, 12 or even 15% to bring the average returns up to the 7% needed to pay out their pension liabilities.  The YTD return on the S&P 500 is only 7.6%, so corporate profits must roughly double in order to rescue the public pension systems.

That cracks the room up

As Capper shared with us, the Wisconsin Pensions System is strong but the righties still want to get their hands on it

But the sad fact is that it's not only the public sector workers' money that would go to feed the monsters of Wall Street, but the taxpayers' money as well. After all, defined benefits plans like the one the state has right now is almost twice as cost effective as the defined contribution plans they want to force on us.
The reality is that no matter what the Dr. Tim's of the state or the Magyver Institute tries to throw at us, they are lying to you and their one goal is to cash in on YOUR pension system, not to save it!   The Wisconsin Pension system is doing just great without their help!

A highly anticipated report ordered by Gov. Scott Walker and the Republican-controlled Legislature and released on Monday recommended no changes to Wisconsin’s $77 billion pension system.

But the report’s findings that Wisconsin’s system is strong and should not be changed are not a surprise, Holden said.

This is a very well-managed system, and I think the report came to that judgment with very good data,” she said.

The report, written by the Department of Administration, the Department of Employee Trust Funds and the Office of State Employment Relations, cited numerous problems that could occur if the state instigated changes.

Defined contribution plans, like a 401(k), are common in private businesses and have no guaranteed payout to retirees. Benefits are guaranteed to workers in a defined benefit plan, as Wisconsin offers its employees. While a defined contribution plan would provide no risk to taxpayers, the report said the professional management of all pooled assets under the current system increases the performance of the defined benefit plan.

Employers and employees would have to pay more to get the same level of benefit they have now if the state would move to a defined contribution system, the report said. It also said such plans typically have higher administrative costs.

The study also raised concerns about allowing workers to opt out of making required payments to the system. Doing that could negatively affect contribution rates for those already in the system and present tax qualification issues with the Internal Revenue Service for the current plan, the report said.
So we see with the report that was written by the Governor's own departments that the best thing to do with our pension system is to leave it alone.   We all know that will not stop Dr. Tim and the rest of the red meaters, from trying to write and talk about how we must change it!

You can not blame them though, Dr. Tim, Brian Fraley, Christian Schneider , Jimmy Wigderson, are all just political hacks who are unemployable in the real world.  Their best bet is to keep doing, writing and saying what they are told by their corporate masters so they can continue to collect the paychecks.

Of course if college was affordable, maybe they could go back and get an education and realize how silly they actually are!
