Scott Walker Quote of the Day

By Jeff Simpson

Let us take a trip back to 2012 and we see Scott Walker on the Neil Cavuto show and Mr. Walker was asked who Mitt Romney should pick as his Vice Presidential candidate(emphasis mine).

In the midst of his recall election, Walker shot down speculation that he could be Mitt Romney's vice-presidential pick. Instead, he told FOX Business Network's Neil Cavuto in June 2012 that if Romney were to ask him who would be a good pick from Wisconsin, he would suggest Paul Ryan—who Romney did eventually choose as a running mate. "I am not going through a year and a half of this to then take off," Walker told Cavuto, according to The Huffington Post. "I have to fulfill my commitment to the voters of the state of Wisconsin."
Ummm?!?!?!?

If At First You Don't Succeed....

By Jeff Simpson

Try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try again....

Mitt Romney really really wants to be President.  He is entitled!

Mitt Romney forcefully declared his interest in a third presidential run to a room full of powerful Republican donors Friday, disrupting the fluid 2016 GOP field as would-be rival Jeb Bush was moving swiftly to consolidate establishment support.
Romney, the 2012 Republican nominee, has been mulling another campaign for several months, but his comments Friday marked a clear step forward in his thinking and come amid mounting tensions between the Romney and Bush camps.
“I want to be president,” Romney told about 30 donors in New York. He said that his wife, Ann — who last fall said she was emphatically against a run — had changed her mind and was now “very encouraging,” although their five sons remain split, according to multiple attendees.

The Romney/Ryan Bromance Still Lives

It's always nice to see a cute couple stay together.  It's even better when it is the bromance between Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan:
U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan said Thursday he would love to see Mitt Romney run again for president and teased the GOP's former nominee at one point that the "third time's the charm."

Appearing with Ryan at a public event for the first time since their ticket lost two years ago, Romney offered his own good-humored praise by saying that Ryan "wouldn't be a bad president" himself.
Well, isn't that just special? It brings back all the warm, fuzzy memories of them dissing the 47%.

In order to give Ryan all the time he needs to evaluate a run for president, we should give him the time off he needs to thoroughly study the matter.

To do that, please help support - and vote for - Rob Zerban!

Scott Walker's China Problem

By Jeff Simpson

Despite the fact that Mary Burke was long gone before any outsourcing happened at Trek, Scott Walker is sticking to his pants on fire guns.  He posted this on facebook this afternoon.

Still undisputed: Mary Burke profited from company that took taxpayer $ & sent jobs to places like China where avg rate is less than $2/hr

Apparently he either never knew or must have forgotten about the millions of dollars in taxpayer money WEDC gave to firms that then shipped jobs overseas.    He has also forgotten that his good buddy Paul Ryan ran on a presidential ticket where they bragged about the wonderful working conditions of China:

Scott Walker has also been to China a few times (on our dime) yet I can not find a single news paper article or story on where he complained about the labor while he was there.   As a matter of fact here he is in a meeting with Chinese Consul General Zhao Weiping, probably discussing how he can enact similar wages in WI:

While I do think we have a problem with the amount of outsourced jobs in this country, I do not think Scott Walker is the person to be complaining about it, especially from his glass high rise!

The 2016 Republican Field Just Cleared Up!

By Jeff Simpson

Despite Scott Walker blind presidential ambitions, this weekend confirmed that he has a zero percent chance of ever becoming president.   There is much talk in the political insider power circles that Jeb Bush will run for president.

While that might trigger Americas collective gag reflex, the powers that be believe in a "the devil you know is better than the devil you dont" philosphy.   They know exactly what Jeb Bush will bring to the presidency, minimal competence, no shake ups while handing the keys of our Government over to Wall St and his donors will be rewarded immensely!

That means the uneducated far right winger from Wisconsin is beling told, thanks but no thanks!

Want further proof?   This week on CBS, Bob Schieffer let it be known that if by chance Jeb Bush passes on the party nomination, they have someone ready in the wings to pinch hit.

This guy:

The power elite from the republican party have no interest whatsoever in having any of the crazy republican right wing governors becoming our next President.

Sorry Scotty, we vetted you and decided that after a thorough look, we like this guy better:

The Real War on Christmas!

By Jeff Simpson

Recently fake journalist, and WPRI republican hack Christian Schneider wrote a column on the wonders of offshoring(in a defense of Mary Burke).   Apparently you have to be an adult to understand what a great thing it is:

But while the outsourcing issue is a Sheboygan-sized target on Burke's campaign, Republicans should avoid simply hammering her for the act of outsourcing itself. It is an easy tactic — and in the end, winning is all that matters, after all — but campaigns should be careful how they foment anger among voters. Especially if it means confusing the public about a nuanced issue that deserves an adult conversation.

First, a point of clarification: While Burke's detractors refer to "outsourcing," they really mean "offshoring." Companies "outsource" their operations to other businesses when it isn't cost-effective to do the work themselves. It's not as if Grimace and Mayor McCheese are at the McDonald's headquarters milking cows to produce the company's dairy creamers; they outsource that task to an actual dairy company.

"Offshoring," on the other hand, means moving jobs overseas, where products can be produced cheaper due to lower labor costs. For the workers whose jobs are moved to India, China or Mexico, offshoring — to use a technical economic term — "sucks."
We at CogDis pointed out that Schneider is economic illiterate, which was of a surprise to no one.   What I failed to do though was point out the "real world"consequences of offshoring that no one seems to want to have an adult conversation about(hint: don't look to Schneider for adult conversations).

1.  What is considered one of the most dangerous jobs in the world?  Bangladesh garment worker makes the list.    Who knew making your cheap T-shirt was so dangerous?

In Bangladesh, there are 4 million garment workers — they’re getting starved to death too with pitiful wages, and they’re brutally overworked. And there are no health and safety standards. We saw the result of that in the Tazreen Factory fire on Nov. 24, 2012, which killed at least 117 workers. Less than a month later another factory, Smart Fashion, went up in flames.
When we were in Bangladesh, a boy named Korshed —15 years of age — was working a night shift, all night long from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. during the monsoon season. It was July 17, 2012, when in the middle of the night at 3:00 a.m. a gigantic metal slab fell and crushed this young kid. Killed, dead on the spot. There’s no health and safety records whatsoever, the workers are just sitting ducks.
 2.  A lady in Oregon bought cheap crap Halloween decorations from China and found a letter:

"People who work here have to work 15 hours a day without Saturday, Sunday break and any holidays. Otherwise, they will suffer torturement, beat and rude remark. Nearly no payment (10 yuan/1 month)."
Ten yuan is equivalent to $1.61.
"People who work here, suffer punishment 1-3 years averagely, but without Court Sentence (unlaw punishment). Many of them are Falun Gong practitioners, who are totally innocent people only because they have different believe to CCPG. They often suffer more punishment than others."

Schneider did get that right....$1.61/month is definitely cheaper labor.  See what happens when you get rid of the unions, companies are free to prosper!  Time for ACT11 to cut teacher pay again.

As a child, Aruna dreamed of going to college. But by the time she was 15, when her government-subsidized schooling ended, she understood that she was too poor. Then, a stranger promised to change her life. He offered her a job at a textile factory that has supplied companies including, until recently, UK-based maternity wear maker Mothercare. Her pay would be about $105 a month—enough for food for her family, her further education, and most importantly, the chance to build a dowry.

When Aruna arrived at the factory, about 40 miles from her home, she found a vast facility where close to 1,000 girls, many in their teens, lived 10 or 15 to a room. From 8 a.m. till 10 p.m. every day, including weekends, she fed and monitored rusty machines that spun raw cotton into yarn. Her bosses often woke her in the middle of the night because, she recalls, there was "always some sort of work, 24 hours a day." Aruna made just a quarter of the $105 a month she was promised, about $0.84 a day.

Aruna shows me a scar on her hand, more than an inch long, where a machine cut her. She often saw girls faint from standing for too long. One had her hair ripped out when it got caught in a machine. Others were molested by their supervisors. "They said we would get less work if we slept with them," Aruna says. Sometimes girls would disappear, and everyone would speculate whether they'd died or escaped. Still, she needed the money, so she worked there for two years.
Last April's building collapse in Bangladesh's Rana Plaza, which killed more than 1,000, briefly drew attention to the plight of garment workers. India is an even larger global player than Bangladesh: It's the third-largest textile and garment exporter in the world (after China and the European Union), with about $29 billion in 2012 sales. Between June 2012 and June 2013, the United States imported about $2.2 billion worth of cotton clothing from India, and that number is expected to grow as India ramps up its textile industry.

 4.  In Jordan a factory that produces products for WalMart, sexual abuse is a way of life:

In June, the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights released a report alleging that workers producing clothing for Walmart, Target, Macy's, Kohl's and Hanes at a factory in Jordan have been routinely beaten, underpaid and forced to work hours in excess of what the local law allows. The report added that workers have been forced to live in bed bug-infested dormitories that lack heat and hot water, despite the snow and ice that are a feature of local winters.
The report also alleged a pattern of widespread sexual abuse of female employees at the Classic Brands factory complex. The factory employs some 4,800 people, mostly guest workers from South Asia. One manager repeatedly raped female Sri Lankan workers, prompting a strike late last year, according to the report. Workers wanted the manager fired. Instead, the factory's owner sent the manager on a recruiting mission to South Asia as a means of temporarily removing him from the complex. The owner did not publicly discipline the manager or remove the man from his employment, said Charles Kernaghan, the institute's director, and the lead author of the study.

Whats a few rapes of 13 year old girls, they aren't in school anyway.    When your working a 17 hour shift, 7 days a week,  its the only way they get a break.

5.  There there was this clown that people actually thought could be President of the United States.

And the one thing that gets you mad is someone saying "Happy Holidays"?

Scott Walker - Cupid!

By Jeff Simpson

We all know that Scott Walker is desperate and has been losing ground lately.   I do not want to be accused as being perpetual naysayers, so I want to congratulate Scott Walker on something he has been amazingly successful at -  Matchmaking!

Let's start out with our distinguished Speaker of the Assembly.   He met the love of his life (or the moment) RIGHT on the assembly floor.  He met and clicked with fellow family values republican Michelle Litjens!  Litjens quit the legislature to "spend more time with her family".  Michelle misled us at the time, because we assumed she meant her husband and children, when in reality she meant spend more time with Samantha Vos's family!

Why let little things like marriages and children get in the way of true love.

The loving doesnt stop there....plenty more where that came from.

The next up is Governor Walker's hire for Secretary of Department of Health Services Dennis Smith.  We published his story here at CogDis in a two parter ----  Part one here and part two here

See a quick run down of the story is Dennis Smith used his sweet state job to bring his unqualified high school crush here to work, also in a sweet state job, reporting to him, so he could get what he has been after for years.....her.   They just ran into one problem.   Her husband.

Her husband, Andrew Spear, found out and unfortunately freaked out.  Knowing your wife of many years is having an affair with her boss is not an easy thing to handle.    There were also some other extenuating circumstances(that are in the two part series that I will not rehash here) that led to a perfect storm.  While Mr. Spear admits that he did over react, that is big news to find out and he did not handle it the best.   He also does not have a history of abuse and took a lot of blame to shield his wife.

Anyway, Mr. Spear originally had a bad blow up with Mrs. Spear that resulted in many false charges and
some jail time.   The problem that Mr. Spear also ran into is Dennis Smith was a weasel in a different class.   One that he was not prepared to handle.   See Dennis Smith was able to use the over reaction to his advantage and force the focus away from the affair he was having to Mr. Spear's emotional state and Mr Spear was eaten alive by it.

See Dennis Smith denied the affair, using a press release and staff paid for by the WI taxpayer, where he flat out denied any affair.  Unfortunately for Mr. Spear, Dennis Smith's own wife and children and the Wisconsin taxpayers, Dennis Smith was lying.

Not very long after CogDis broke this story,  and shortly after Smith vehemently denied the affair, Mr. Smith turned tail and ran out of town.   Smith took a job with the Washington D.C. Law firm of Mckenna, Long & Aldrich(which apparently has the same lack of qualifications in hiring lawyers as Michael, Best & Friederich, but thats another blog).

The Judge in the case,  Judge William E. Hanrahan, confirmed what we at COGDIS had told you.  There was an affair and yet another of the Walker inner circle was lying to us

At a hearing on June 12, in discussing a request from Brian Brophy, the attorney for Mr. Spear, for discovery of potentially exculpatory evidence showing an affair had occurred, Hanrahan said this wasn’t necessary.

“It’s very bizarre that you would come to court asking the court to turn over information that might tend to suggest that she (Mary Spears) was actually having an extramarital affair when he (Andrew Spears) already knew it, as evidenced by the letters that were in the provider’s files sent by your client,” Hanrahan noted. “I think any objective, reasonable person, upon reading the e-mails that he furnished, would not have such a hard time believing it.”
Scott Walker has oroven, that if you will help advance his presidential ambitions,  he will gladly open up the Wisconsin taxpayer check book to you.   Smith was able to use the cover of two Wisconsin government jobs, unlimited use of WI taxpayer funded cell phones, computers, buildings and countless expenses to carry on an affair with his lifelong crush.  Mrs. Spear however, had a 20+ year solid marriage so Smith needed to to bring out the big guns to close this deal:

After Democrats took over the White House in 2008, Smith became an activist for the Heritage Foundation on health care, writing a piece urging states to drop out of Medicaid. He became a high profile hire for Walker, who brought Smith on in January 2011 as Health Services Secretary. Smith quickly became the point man for Walker in resisting Obamacare in Wisconsin, and was known nationally as a state official who could be depended on to criticize Obamacare.

But Smith meanwhile made contact with an old friend he had known since grade school, Mary Spear. While she had worked as a lawyer in years past, there is no evidence she had a job at the time Smith hired her as his chief legal counsel in January 2012.  A lawyer with the Department of Health Services told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel there was no other candidate for the job, but Smith claimed he contacted other candidates, without naming any names. Within just eight months of her hiring, their affair had gotten to the point that their revealing emails were discovered by Andrew Spear, precipitating his misdemeanor battery against his wife.

At the June 12 hearing for Andrew Spear, Brophy noted that “at some point in time Mr. Spear saw… e-mails between Ms. Spear and her father talking about going to Washington should candidate Romney have won the election.” The implication is that Smith would have returned to Washington D.C. if Mitt Romney won the 2012 presidential election, and Mary Spear would have joined him.

Of course that didn’t happen, but Smith ended up moving anyway after the Spear scandal heated up. He now serves as managing director of the DC office of McKenna Long & Aldridge. As for Mary Spear, she is divorcing Andrew and a source tells me her condo in Madison now looks un-lived in. The rumor mill has it that she now spends much of her time in our nation’s capitol.
Anyone who truly thought that the Romney/Ryan ticket had a chance of winning the White House, truly was vulnerable.  Apparently, causing tens of thousands of people to lose their healthcare is not a big enough of a thrill.   Dennis Smith preyed upon his direct report Mary Spear's vulnerability, and his position of power, to get laid, all on our dime.    Something he should be proud to explain to his wife and kids.

Then of course everyone knows that since the Governor has been in power, Scott Fitzgerald has been seen everywhere with his main funraiser. Scott Fitz has been having so much fun that he pulled out his 80's wayfarers.

You would think that since Fitzgerald's wife is a teacher, and  we know how little they work, that he would not have time to be hanging out with random younger blondes.   I guess he is good at multi-tasking.    Getting paid $88/day  just to drive to work, sure helps also in this depressed Wisconsin economy!

One of these things is NOT like the other!

Heck with all of this love in the air, even Scott Walker is feeling it.

When you are filled with such charisma and charm .....what do you expect?

However, probably the biggest success that Scott Walker has had,  has been with Scott Suder.   I  am not talking about Suder's debacle at United Sportsmen and subsequent 88% raise.  I am talking about what Scott Walker has done for Suder's love life.    Scott Suder has not needed Christian Schneider to write a column, calling his ex-girlfriend a slut for a while.

It appears that breaking unions, destroying the middle class and taking choice away from women makes these studs, irresistible!

Prescott, AZ - A Republican Case Study!

Granite Mountain Hotshots

By Jeff Simpson

Welcome to Prescott, Arizona, "Everybody's Hometown".  It is a quiet little town, population 40,000 that votes a solid red, 63% republican.  In the most recent election, 64.5% of the voters preferred the Romney/Ryan ticket, and their message of the makers V takers

Prescott also recently(2009) elected a new Mayor - Marlin Kuykendall.

What are the city's top issues? "We will continue to make sure that we preserve the water that has been awarded us by the ADWR (Arizona Department of Water Resources)," Kuykendall said, adding that the city would also work to "respect and honor the commitment" to the Verde River, and the "obligations to the people of the Verde."

Kuykendall also cited continued growth of the economy as a top priority. "We want to be a part of job creation," he said.

In addition, he said, he want to ensure "Prescott will always have the quality of life component, the neighborhood quality."

Prescott was also recently in the news for another reason.  The Granite Mountain Hotshots, American Heroes,  who all but one, lost their lives fighting the Arizona wildfires.

Now, Prescott is known for something else.  Denying many of these families, their more than earned and previously promised survivors benefits

Andrew Ashcraft, a 29-year-old member of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, died beside 18 of his comrades when a wildfire engulfed them on June 30. The elite firefighters from Prescott, Ariz., were battling a wild-land blaze near Yarnell, which was sparked by a lightning strike. The fire quickly grew into an inferno that destroyed hundreds of homes and covered more than 2,000 acres.

Only one member of the 20-person Hotshot crew survived the blaze, and the families of the 19 victims were promised a half-million dollars or more in government benefits and private donations. The city promised all families a one-time payment of $328,618 and lifetime survivor benefits.

But now the city of Prescott is retracting its promise, claiming that 13 of the deceased firefighters were seasonal employees, thus making their families ineligible for survivor benefits – including health insurance, a life insurance payment, and monthly lifetime survivor benefits that could amount to several million dollars in the long run.

Juliann Ashcraft, whose husband died fighting the blaze, has been told that she will not receive the benefits that she was initially promised. The city of Prescott told her that full family survivor benefits will only be awarded to the families of full-time employees. The city claims that Mr. Ashcraft was a seasonal employee, despite the fact that he worked 40-hour weeks and earned a full-time salary.

Not ONLY did they renig on their promise to take care of their local heroes who gave their lives for their community they were extremely cold about it!

“As shocked as I was that my husband went to work and never came home, I’m equally shocked in how the city has treated our family since then,” she told CBS News. “…I said to [city officials], ‘My husband was a full-time employee, he went to work full-time for you.’ And their response to me was, ‘Perhaps there was a communication issue in your marriage
Once again, the rest of America has to step up and pay the bills for the "fiscally conservative" republicans in charge of a Government.

For now, Mrs. Ashcraft will feed her family using private donations she received after her husband’s death.

“Quite literally, my bills are being paid by the good people of the world who are giving donations, because the city of Prescott isn’t doing anything for us,” she said. “Now I have four kids and myself, and I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

YOU can help by going to this website

This is how Arizona treats their public workers, who they apparently think of their families as "takers" and "love them" so much they are going to make sure they are not reliant on benefits and health insurance paid for by the taxpayers(those are reserved for the politicians)!

At least they can justify it by it "being legal"(where have we heard that):

Deborah Pfingston, the mother of deceased firefighter Andrew Ashcraft, told AP that city officials initially promised to retroactively reclassify the seasonal, temporary employees as permanent ones, in order to be able to provide the survivor benefits. But now, the same city officials claim they cannot posthumously reclassify the deceased men.

“The city has fully complied with all of the laws and employment policies that direct survivor benefits,” the city said in a statement sent to CBS News.

If you think for a minute that the Wisconsin republican contingent of Scott Walker, Robin Vos, Scott Fitzgerald et al. would not do this exact same thing to our public workers, if given the chance - I pray you never find out(because i hate to say I told you so)!

Paul Ryan's Intern Program

By Jeff Simpson

What exactly was Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan teaching these kids?

A former intern for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was arrested Tuesday over an alleged sexual extortion scheme.

In a press release, the FBI said 21-year-old Adam Savader allegedly stalked 15 different women from three states between May 2012 and this past February.

The New York Daily News reported that Savader was a political science major at SUNY Farmingdale. He had worked on the political campaigns of Newt Gingrich, Paul Ryan, and Romney.

Savader claimed to have nude photos of the women, and threatened to release the photos unless they sent him more. He demanded that one woman answer “a series of personal questions, relating to sexual preferences, positions, etc.,” according to a FBI complaint. He also informed at least two women that he was masturbating to their stolen pictures.

“I swear on all that is holy. If you fuck with me again I will send these to your parents. I have no problem sending them to ur [sic] parents, friends and sorority sisters unless you cooperate by answering me,” he allegedly told one woman.
To be fair, since Mitt cancelled their credit cards the minute he knew he lost, the kid just needed some cash!

China's Certainty

By Jeff Simpson

Our friends on the right have been touting the economic wonders of China for sometime now.  It has gotten so bad that the republican candidate for President of the United States was bragging about what a great place China is for working women and he never once was challenged for his stupidty.

It was so bad that this clip of Mitt Romney bragging about the working conditions in China was "the straw that broke Scott Prouty's back" per say.   While he had video of Mitt's whole speech at the fundraiser, the clip he was disgusted with and release first(before he met someone who could help him reach a national audience), was the above clip

Even our own Dumb Senator  was even able to say basically the same thing and still have people vote for him.  After this quote, he should have been retired into a life of working for daddy's company, unfortunately for all of us he was not!

"And his(Steve Wynn) point is, the level of uncertainty, the climate for business
investment is far more certain in Communist China then it is in the U.S. here,"
Ron Johnson said.
There is definite certainty in China.  There is the certainty that if you are poor and live in certain village, you WILL get cancer!

Chinese authorities have acknowledged the existence of so-called "cancer villages" in a new report this week, according to multiple media outlets.
Agence France-Presse writes that the country's environment ministry made the admission in a report about pollution in which authorities acknowledged the dangers posed to human health by the harmful chemicals -- many of which are banned in developed nations -- that are produced and consumed in large quantities in the country.
"The toxic chemicals have caused many environmental emergencies linked to water and air pollution," the report said via the BBC.
"There are even some serious cases of health and social problems, like the emergence of cancer villages in individual regions," it continued.
Outstanding, I wonder if RoJo or Mitt will be buying a nice house in those villages?  There is also another "certainty" in China, the certainty that you do NOT want to eat pork(or swim in the river)!

The number of dead pigs found in a river running through China’s commercial hub Shanghai has reached more than 13,000, state media said Monday, as mystery deepened over the hogs’ precise origin.

Shanghai had pulled 9,460 pigs out of the Huangpu river, which supplies 22 percent of the city’s drinking water, since the infestation began earlier this month, the Shanghai Daily reported.

The thousands of dead pigs have drawn attention to China’s poorly regulated farm production. Animals that die from disease can end up in the country’s food supply chain or improperly disposed of, despite laws against the practice.

In Wenling, also in Zhejiang, authorities announced last week that 46 people had been jailed for up to six-and-a-half years for processing and selling pork from more than 1,000 diseased pigs.

China faced one its biggest food-safety scandals in 2008 when the industrial chemical melamine was found to have been illegally added to dairy products, killing at least six babies and making 300,000 people ill.

Maybe Mitt and Ron can go out to eat together when they are there.   They might even want to meet some locals and eat at a local restaurant!

White Fright!

By Jeff Simpson

Who would have thought, that in the year 2013, the republican party would still be overcome by fear of minorities?

Yesterday Capper told us about Charlie Sykes new major project, the website White Wisconsin.

At least half a dozen local, black, conservative authors, including Wonder Woma - who had stood up to Glenn Grothman's attack on Kwanzaa - offered to submit contributions to the web site. Each and everyone was turned down.
A quick check of the news and you see this is not just in Wisconsin where prominent republicans are scared of minorities,  but it is happening nationally also.  When you have someone who likes to beat the "minorities are taking over fraudulently" drum as much as their leader reince priebus does, this is to be expected.

Let's start in Delevan where the local school talked about "white privilege" and the state/national republicans went into a tizzy!

The “American Diversity” class was taught to students at Delavan-Darien High School in Wisconsin, Fox News has learned.
“They’re teaching white guilt,” one parent told Fox News. “They’re dividing the students. They’re saying to non-whites, ‘You have been oppressed and you’re still being oppressed.’”
The parent, who asked not to be identified, has an 18-year-old son who was enrolled in the class and became alarmed after she looked at some of the handouts provided to the students.
“I felt it was indoctrination,” she said. “This is a radical left agenda and ideology that is now embedded in our school.”
The parent said the students were taught “if you’re white, you’re oppressing. If you’re non white, you’ve been a victim.”
Of course Fox news is always available for stories like this.  I am proud to say that our school district has attended the White Privilege conference in the past!

Then there was Glenn Grothman's recent racially charged rant against planned parenthood:

Not to mention, Tommy Thompson's son Jason, an attorney at Michael Best & Friedrich, who wanted to send our President "back to Kenya".   Paul Ryan(R-ayn rand) let everyone know the only reason he is not vice president today is because of those darn "urban voters"

Things are just as ugly nationally as they are locally.   There was the incident at the republican convention where some attendees threw peanuts at an African American camerawoman saying,"this is how we feed the animals".  To Mitt's famous 47% line to paul ryan's continuous whining about "entitlements" to Jim Sensenbrenner's critique of Michelle Obama's body.    There is also the despicable attack the republicans just commenced on Ambassador Susan Rice.

It has become such a problem that Colin Powell felt obliged to give a national interview to address it!   All of these code words and pushing the line, helps focus on the fear and gets the base riled up, unfortunately it gets the real crazy even more crazy.   Arie Perliger of  West Point just finished a study of America's violent far right:

“since 2007, there has been a dramatic rise in the number of attacks and violent plots originating from individuals and groups who self- identify with the far-right of American politics.”

Written by Arie Perliger, Director of Terrorism Studies at the Combating Terrorism Center and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Sciences at West Point, the paper asserts that three distinct ideologies exist in the “American violent far right.” Those are “a racist/white supremacy movement, an anti-federalist movement and a fundamentalist movement,” the last of which “includes mainly Christian Identity groups such as the Aryan Nations.”

“Findings indicate that…it is not only feelings of deprivation that motivate those involved in far right violence, but also the sense of empowerment that emerges when the political system is perceived to be increasingly permissive to far right ideas,” it later reads.
Some of the very same people who fund these far right extremist groups also fund Scott Walker(but thats a for another post)
