But The State Is Broke!

The state is supposed to be broke, but Scott Walker is managing to find $140 million to widen a 16 mile stretch of freeway that almost no one drives on and no one wants.

Well, no one but his road builder campaign donors, that is.

  1. Hi. Local blogger from the area who thinks you're a complete AFSCME tool chiming in.

Which of the fine press releases from the mid-90s from former elected Democrats like Jim Baumgart, Cal Potter, and Terry Van Akkeren expressing the need for this highway to be built would you like?

The ONLY reason this project now has a $140 Million price tag is because it has been constantly been pushed back; first by activists in Milwaukee, now in Madison.

Finally, Chris. If you're going to quote a report from the Sheboygan Press with the phrase "no one drives and no one wants" you might want to take a gander at the 50-plus comments and see what the locals are saying.

Overwhelming feeling appears to be "Dear Madison Tree Hugging Hippies, stay the *&#^ out of Sheboygan's business."

  2. BTW folks, that's Kevin Binversie, one of the newest employees of the Koch Brothers. Take his word for what it's worth.
