Reed Hall, head of the taxpayer money pit and walker donor effort, WEDC is retiring.

In a statement, Walker praised Hall and said he would work with the WEDC board to appoint a successor.
"Reed has overseen a transformational period at WEDC with a steady hand. Under Reed's guidance, WEDC strengthened its accountability and transparency to taxpayers, improving the public trust, while moving forward the important work of developing economic opportunity for families all around our state," Walker said.

Yes Mr.Hall, has steadily overseen millions and millions of our tax dollars, disappear into the bank accounts of Walker donors.     I wonder which unqualified donor or donor's kid, Scott Walker will appoint next?  Is Cynthia Archer available?

The Big question is will the taxpayers of WI buy him a Maserati to drive off into the sunset?

Mr. Hall should be investigated, not congratulated!  

Another One Cashes Out!

Career Government worker, and current previous republican assembly representative Chad Weininger is leaving the Assembly, he just is not going to resign. 

Weininger is leaving the Assembly to become director of administration for Brown County, the top appointed post in the county’s government. He said the county post enables him to be closer to his growing family; Weininger and his wife, Heather, have two pre-school aged daughters.
 
County Executive Troy Streckenbach nominated Weininger in March; the County Board approved the nomination March 19. The previous administration director, Brent Miller, now heads the county’s human resources department.

Weininger will be paid $98,125 in his new position. Miller received the same salary.

Because he didn’t resign from the Assembly, Weininger still is eligible for state benefits until his successor takes office in January. He said he will discontinue those benefits once he obtains coverage from Brown County.

 Once again we have a republican "small government" representative who uses his position and power and contacts to cash in on government.    Double Dipper Weininger will also keep his Wisconsin taxpayer funded benefits and salary, despite the fact that he will no longer be working. 

Weininger is a former Soap Box Derby champion, I guess that qualifies him for $100/yr taxpayer funded non accountable position!

That brings to 20 the amount of incumbents(who gerrymandered their districts to stay safe) who are resigning and cashing out on the backs of taxpayers.  

The rats are always the first to leave the ship!  Could be they know how the sausage is made and do not want to be around when the house of cards comes tumbling down? 

 

Luke Hilgemann Says "Bring It"

Then runs for the hills and hides!

Our friends at PRWatch came across an email where Luke Hilgemann, then state director for Americans for (their own) Prosperity, wrote saying if there was going to bad press  --- "Bring It.".

An August 28 email from Hilgemann, regarding the bad press from the paper and CMD (and sent one day after CMD's article), lays out some of the strategy. “Let me be as direct as I can with this recent attention to USW… BRING IT!”

Then we found out that Luke was a member of the United Sportsmen, attempted theft of Wisconsin taxpayer money and learned that what Mr. Hilgemann meant was "bring me as much Wisconsin taxpayer money are you can."

Typically, after Hilgemann's macho Bring it, line and after getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar, he has mysteriously disappeared from view!

Hilgemann, Suder's former top aide, hasn't responded to repeated requests for interviews over the United Sportsmen grant. But privately, he wasn't shy about giving his thoughts on the matter.

The effect of light shining on Hilgemann, appears to have the same effect as some other species!

Here is an exclusive picture of Hilgemann addressing a Kathy Nickolaus appreciation party, where he informs everyone in the room - "Sorry about your kids public schools, but we need to cut their aid so I can be rewarded for all of my time playing the good soldier."

In the "taxed enough already", small Government, free market AFP, this massive taxpayer cash grab was rewarded with a promotion!  They felt if he could fleece $250,000 a year from Wisconsin taxpayers, imagine how much he could get from the Federal Government - so off to Virginia he went!


Here is Hilgemann, saying good bye to his followers,  as he leaves for greener pastures.  Ironically every green t-shirt stands for $10,000 of WI taxpayer money Scott Suder had planned on handing him to make the move easier.

Scott Walker is Flying High

And Very Very Expensively! The inaptly described "fiscal conservative" obviously isn't and when he speaks of Small government he apparently means small private government planes he likes to use!

According to documents provided by the state Department of Administration in response to the Shepherd’s open records requests, Walker has spent $183,839.16 on his travels from Jan. 1 to July 30, 2013.

That amount doesn’t include his state-funded travels on commercial airlines or the expenses incurred during his April trade mission trip to China. Nor does it include the expenses he and his staff are racking up during their visit to Tokyo this week.

Walker most frequently flew between Madison and Milwaukee, and occasionally between Madison and Wauwatosa, usually at the beginning or the end of a day of flights around the state. Walker has two separate residences, the official executive residence in suburban Madison and his home in Wauwatosa. Walker made the 75-mile flight 44 times between January and the end of June. Even his aides are flying between the two cities 14 times without him. In Wisconsin, staff members traveling without the governor were always expected to drive short distances such as between Madison and Milwaukee and not run up a bill for a private plane ride.

 YOUCH!  That is a lot of extra baggage charges!  

  Too bad they dont have high speed rail to make that hour trip a little easier on them. 

When asked about this exorbitant cost to fly by plane, Gov. Walker's office responded with complete silence.  Apparently the "most transparent" Governor in history has no interest in explaining his big spending ways.   

I would love to see an exact break down of how long it takes from him to get from the Capitol to the Governor's mansion by plane and compare it by car.    I am pretty sure car's would be quicker, but maybe he needs the miles!
