We have written alot here at CogDis about Americans for Prosperity and their old gopher boy Luke Hilgemann. Although Luke has kind of had the last laugh, in that as he has become a VERY rich man (more on that story soon) and no longer has to live under the oppression of Scott Walker's regime.
When Luke got promoted from local gopher to national coffee boy, the koch brothers, in their Wisconsin division of the Walker Campaign, needed a replacement, and they found one in David Fladboe.
Recently after one of the cuckoo conferences in Florida, our friends at Americans for Prosperity, rented out Universal Studios in Orlando as a way to thank you to all of the legislators that do what they are told all year. How that is remotely legal, no one knows, but welcome to the 21st century in politics.
Here is Ron Johnson and Vicki Pyzinski enjoying time together, free from the constraints of hanging out with the Boss's Daughter or fighting the police. I wonder how this day shows up on RoJo's campaign finance report?
Anyway we see these guys having such a great time, all we need is a caption!
An August 28 email from Hilgemann, regarding the bad press from the
paper and CMD (and sent one day after CMD's article), lays out some of
the strategy. “Let me be as direct as I can with this recent attention
to USW… BRING IT!”
Hilgemann, Suder's former top aide, hasn't responded to repeated
requests for interviews over the United Sportsmen grant. But privately,
he wasn't shy about giving his thoughts on the matter.
Here is an exclusive picture of Hilgemann addressing a Kathy Nickolaus appreciation party, where he informs everyone in the room - "Sorry about your kids public schools, but we need to cut their aid so I can be rewarded for all of my time playing the good soldier."
Here is Hilgemann, saying good bye to his followers, as he leaves for greener pastures. Ironically every green t-shirt stands for $10,000 of WI taxpayer money Scott Suder had planned on handing him to make the move easier.
PS: if you think this is a nice award? Look at the company he now keeps:

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has released an entertaining computer game called Lame Duck Hunt based
on the old-school Nintendo ‘Duck Hunt’ game to inform the public about
the bad economic policies retiring and defeated members of Congress
could push through in December, the final month of the 112th Congress.
Yet a bunch of right wing extremist republicans, who were voted out already, have decided to use the lame duck Michigan legislature to ram through Right to Work for less legislation IN an hour and half discussion. Of course if this was a bill that actually helped the people of MI, AFP would be besides themselves upset, instead they celebrate. This bill brought such incredibly anti democratic thug tactics to the Michigan Capitol as
This is how republicans ram through bills in America these days(h/t Randy Bryce for the pic).
All of this politics going on that would make Fidel Castro and Joseph Stalin proud also appeals to Americans for Prosperity so much they set up tents to party! The problem is they did not use Union Labor to put them up correctly.
Luckily, most people who are paying attention, know that when the republicans cry wolf, there is usually not a wolf in sight! Thanks to Capper for this catch!
Now we will see if the Wisconsin republican minority in the legislature wants to "out right wing", or if they will slow their take down the Wisconsin middle class agenda.
On the same day, same city, just a couple miles apart, President Obama is due to speak soon. On the rainy campus of UW- Madison, here is a picture Emily mills took approximately two hours before the President is scheduled to speak:
The fact that they are so incompetently run and rejoice when Wisconsinites get bad news gives plenty of blog fodder but the best thing about them is they keep giving me "caption this" photos. While none will beat this one, here is another, I could not resist!
Here is the description from AFP:
One of AFP's youngest activists gets involved to make phone calls and change the policies that are failing our country.
Click "LIKE" if you're excited to see activists of all ages making a difference!
Im sure you can come up with a better description.
I have never done a caption this post before, however this picture was too hard to pass on.
Here is a picture from an "Americans for Prosperity" rally in Charlotte during the week of the Democratic Convention....So please caption this below in the comments!
“The Tea Party is united behind Mark Neumann because he is the proven
conservative in the race,” said Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer in
a statement. “Mark earned the support of the Tea Party Express, and Tea
Party members from every corner of Wisconsin, because he is the only
one with a plan that cuts spending, balances the budget and repeals
ObamaCare. He understands that we must get back to Constitutional
principles in Washington. And, he is the one we can trust to stand up to
Barack Obama.”
Of course that is utterly ridiculous, but so is this....the Wisconsin "tea party" he one funded and founded by the Koch Brothers, with the vermin tim phillips at the head nationally, did not agree. See The billionaires, want the multi-millionaire Eric Hovde to be Wisconsin's next Senator. So they sent this letter to whoever seemed to care:
See the Out of State "tea party" wants a Wisconsin Candidate to be the next Wisconsin Senator, but the local "leaderless" "tea party" sent by paid state "leaders" wants the out of state people to stay out of our race so they can support the out of state candidate, Eric Hovde.
It is amazing they coined the term for election season "the silly season" before the "tea party" came into existence!
Today is the day we are supposed to get the Obamacare ruling from the Supreme Court. Most people realize it is a foregone conclusion that the radical right wing political wing on the Supreme Court will vote to overturn it.
It is such a foregone conclusion that Americans for (Middle Class) Poverty, led by the vermin Tim Phillips, is holding a "we are happy 26 million people will no longer have health care " rally in Walkersha today.
What: Hands Off My Health Care Rally
Where: Country Springs Resort, Ballroom – 2810 Golf Road, Pewaukee
When: Thursday, June 28th, 6:30pm
Join Vicki McKenna, the 10th Amendment Center’s Michael Boldin, Sen.
Leah Vukmir, Rep. Bill Kramer(no word if he will be packing) and your fellow patriots to learn about
the Supreme Court’s decision on the President’s Healthcare Law.
We are holding a Hands Off My Health Care rally in Waukesha in
response to the Supreme Court Decision on the President’s health care
takeover.
This is one of the most important rulings in our nation’s history but
our work doesn’t end here. Our nation needs health care reform that
utilizes open markets and isn’t dictated to us by unelected bureaucrats.
Micheal Boldin will be joining us from the Tenth Amendment Center to
help us understand the decision and how we can take action to create the
change we need.
Ok now sit down and follow along. Americans for Prosperity(AFP), is going to hold a rally tonight to celebrate the (probable)end of Obamacare, while also supporting Mitt Romney for president, yet Obamacare is basically modeled after the health care reform (Romneycare) that Governor Romney passed when he was Governor of Massachusetts. One of the things that the right wing is so very upset about, is that there is an individual mandate that everyone have insurance that the republicans came up with in the 90's when Hillary Clinton was trying to reform health care. The individual mandate has been supported across the right wing spectrum from Newt Gingrich to Tommy Thompson,
Now because this came from President Obama and the republicans have made it their only mission to make sure he fails, then no one on the right supports an individual mandate anymore.
Let's try and wrap up this in terms of AFP. They adamantly oppose President Obama's Obamacare, while they support Mitt Romney and pretend that Romneycare does not exist. They were for the individual before they were against it and now they are holding a rally on a foregone court decision touting the end of what they were for before they were against.
Confusing isnt it? And they want to be taken seriously?
PS: more on the Supreme Court ruling when it comes!
The Supreme Court upheld President Obama's health care law today in a
splintered, complex opinion that gives Obama a major election-year
victory.
Basically. the justices said that the individual mandate
-- the requirement that most Americans buy health insurance or pay a
fine -- is constitutional as a tax.
Chief Justice John
Roberts -- a conservative appointed by President George W. Bush --
provided the key vote to preserve the landmark health care law, which
figures to be a major issue in Obama's re-election bid against
Republican opponent Mitt Romney.
Arkansas Tea Party Board Member Inge Marler tells a "non-racist" joke that cracked up the room. You can hear her tell it here. She does the voices, and everything.
“A black kid asks his mom, ‘Mama, what’s a democracy?’
“‘Well, son, that be when white folks work every day so us po’ folks can get all our benefits.’
“‘But mama, don’t the white folk get mad about that?’
“‘They sho do, son. They sho do. And that’s called racism.’”
Ok so they are racist, we can put up with that because they care so much about open transparent government of "We the People" that we can put up with that right?
Ohio Democrats on Tuesday filed their ninth request for the resumes of those appointed by state Treasurer Josh Mandel (R), the Tea Party favorite running for U.S. Senate.
In a letter to Seth Metcalf, Mandel's general counsel, the state
Democratic Party asked for the resumes of 34 people Mandel appointed to
posts in the treasurer's office, noting that their eighth request
from May 3 has not been answered by Metcalf. Democrats have been
seeking the resumes for more than a year, with reports surfacing earlier
this year that Mandel awarded state jobs to
political staffers and longtime friends, including Metcalf, who he went
to college with. Mandel is challenging U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D).
Democrats accuse Metcalf of ignoring the requests.
This weekend the koch brother's front group Americans for Poverty held their rally in Racine over the weekend. As we have pointed out here, The well funded Kochster's have brouht in busloads of out of state agitator's, (and they pay these out of state dead ender's well)!!
They also brought in a group of D-list celebrities to speak for them and "fire" up the crowd. These "celebrities" come in and attempt to tell the people of WI, how great Scott Walker's "reforms" are while they live as far away from WI as they can. This years out of state celebrities were Dana Loesch and Tony Katz( I would link to them, but even Google has never heard of them).
Then they brought in a couple of speakers reportedly from Wisconsin. The great thing about these speakers at the "tea party" rally s that they have spent their whole career engaging in everything the "tea party" has said they were formed to fight. Yet the "tea party" faithful cheered them on Saturday? Are the two Wisconsinites charlatans or is the "tea party" just a branch of the republican party(my vote is a little of both). The first speaker was double dipper Van Wanggaard who likes to collect two state pensions while working to end others. Then the hero of the day was the champion of Medicare Part D, Wall St. bailout, and the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars(off the books) Paul "hey big government spender" Ryan (R - Wall St.) I wonder how many $350 bottle of wine were promised to Ryan to lure him back to WI?
I also wanted to give special attention to the ultimate out of state agitator and vermin Tim Phillips. Tim Phillips is the koch brothers stooge and you will have to look far and wide to find a human being more disgusting than he is. Here is a great rundown of Phillips.
So lets take a better look at the crowd. Why did they have to have this rally in Racine? easy access for the busloads of Illinois people coming up from Chicago!
Then Fox news ran a story showing us the exact differences.
While the Barrett campaign and those on the left, have actual grass roots and Wisconsin people power and boots on the ground, armed with a clipboard and pen.
What does the Walker campaign have(besides paid out of state agitators) As Fox News itself reports "Americans for Prosperity Poverty has supplied their workers with "cell phones, dialing software, a bus that has been traveling the state, Ipads, and tablets with campaigning software, and their own media machine. Astroturf in Action.
Do we want a few out of state agitators and billionaires deciding Wisconsin's future or do wewant the people of WI to be able to govern themselves?
We know what the Founding Fathers wanted, what will the people of WI chose?
Jan 20th, 2009. The Day President Barack Obama was sworn into office as the 44th president of the US. This marked a new day in America as an African American was sworn into the highest office of the land for the very first time in our great country. While millions of Americans tuned in and celebrated, I think my highlight of the day was when Pete Seeger and Bruce Springsteen were singing "This Land is Your Land".
Hope was restored to our nation and we needed it at that time!
Unfortunately for President Obama and the rest of America, a group of bitter men had other ideas. A group of approximately 15 men got together that very night and started plotting the best way to take down America. Unfortunately, the guest list was full of familiar faces. You would think that I was talking about Kim Jong Il, Osama Bin Laden, Ali Atwa, Abdul Rahman Yasin, Isnilon Totoni Hapilon, Grover Norquist, Tim Phillips, and other assorted anti-American Vermin. Sadly no. The group that got together that night to plot the take down of our President, were all elected officials(and Frank Luntz).
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wall St.)
Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA)
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA),
Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX),
Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX),
Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI)
Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA),
Sen. Jim DeMint (SC-R),
Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ-R),
Sen. Tom Coburn (OK-R),
Sen. John Ensign (NV-R) and
Sen. Bob Corker (TN-R)
The dinner lasted nearly four hours. They parted company almost giddily. The Republicans had agreed on a way forward:
Go after Geithner. (And indeed Kyl did, the next day: ‘Would you answer my question rather than dancing around it—please?’)
Show united and unyielding opposition to the president’s economic
policies. (Eight days later, Minority Whip Cantor would hold the House
Republicans to a unanimous No against Obama’s economic stimulus plan.)
Begin attacking vulnerable Democrats on the airwaves. (The first
National Republican Congressional Committee attack ads would run in less
than two months.)
Win the spear point of the House in 2010. Jab Obama relentlessly in 2011. Win the White House and the Senate in 2012.
Daily Kos, is asking Darrell Issa to open an investigation:
Not only did these Senior members of Congress plot to destroy the
American Economy more than it already was destroyed? They actually
carried out their mission:
- Every one of these Senior members of Congress have threatened Government Shutdown over things like:
not funding planned parenthood, not raising the Debt Ceiling which, in-and-of-itself, would cause US Economic turmoil.
... oh, and stay current, these same House GOP members of Congress are still, today, threatening a Government Shutdown.
- Senators: Jim DeMint, Jon Kyl, Tom Coburn, John Ensign, and Bob Corker have
- Filibustered more Bills than any Congress combined in US History.
- Voted NO on every single piece of Legislation brought
to the Floor including: NO on Al Franken's Anti-Rape Amendment, NO on
Lilly Ledbetter, NO on Fair Pay Act.
- Representatives: Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy, Rep. Pete Sessions, Jeb Hensarling, Pete Hoekstra and Dan Lungren
- Voted NO on every single piece of Legislation; including NO on increasing FEMA during natural disasters.
- Have been on tv constantly chanting the lie that they were guilty of
... the lie that "President Obama's policies undermine the US Economy."
The Daily Beast focused on different aspects beyond the anti-American 15. The book points out that John Boehner was not invited to this meeting to take down America, but instead he was somewhere whining about the end of earmarks....
Despite the anti-earmark rhetoric
in Congress, John Boehner still misses them. During a conversation
with Congressman Ralph Hall of Texas, Boehner regretted that earmarks
disappeared, as it had made the task of keeping unruly members under
control much easier. He sadly noted “It’s not like the old days, Ralph.
Without earmarks to offer, it’s hard to herd the cats.”
John Boehner is finding it hard to keep people in line without the threat of pulling their funding...take taht tea party!
But I digress...back to the Al-Kocha gang of 15!
Paul Ryan and his cohorts, who call themselves the Young Guns, spent that historic night in 2009, not working on ways to end the recession, or lower the deficit, or end the wars, or even lower the unemployment rate. They used their time and "talent" to brainstorm ways to make the President of the United States fail and if all went according to plan, fail miserably!!!
** Congressman Ryan did not respond to questions at the time of this writing. As a matter of fact Congressman Ryan has never responded to a single question posed by yours truly!
