It's sad that the citizenry will not get to know what's going on in their community. Then again, it is probably for the better since Walker has already been abusing the system anyway.Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker are suspending their online newsletters to comply with state election rules.
The state bars elected officials from using taxpayer dollars to distribute newsletters in the months leading up to an election. Barrett is the only major candidate in September's Democratic gubernatorial primary, while Walker is vying with U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann for the Republican nomination. The primary winners will face off in November to succeed Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle, who is not seeking a third term.
Thursday marked the last edition before the hiatus for both "The Barrett Report" and "Executive Update."

Don't Look For Your Newsletters Today
If you do like I do, and subscribe to E-Notify services, you can get the Barrett Report and the Executive Update, the electronic newsletters sent out each Friday by Tom Barrett and Scott Walker. But don't hold your breath waiting for the next one to come:

Speaking of email updates, do you or anyone subscribe to email notifications for the state legislature? They are supposed to notify you the morning after something happens to a bill, but I'm getting emails now about public hearings and votes in committee from a month and a half ago.
