A Traitor in Our Midst!

By Jeff Simpson

We at Cogdis brought you the story behind Tanya Bjork who was the top political advisor for Mary Burke.   We told you that for the Mary Burke campaign to succeed, she needed to rid herself of the weight of someone who was knee deep in the former caucus scandal and has turned into a republican lobbyist(owner with her husband of Capitol Navigators).

A quick check of the Campaign Finance Database and we see that the very same lobbyist firm that Tanya Bjork is an owner of was sending thousands of dollars to Wisconsin Republicans in this election cycle.

You absolutely can NOT make this stuff up.   While Mary Burke and the Dem party was begging you for money, her top campaign adviser was sending thousands to the Republicans!   Let than sink in for a minute.   In the meantime, Mary Burke was paying Ms. Bjork $10,000/Month of YOUR money to advise her.

I wonder if she sent information also or just checks?

To make matters worse, back when we were bringing the original stories to you, Ms. Bjork had on her Linkedin profile that she was a partner in Capitol Navigators.   Now in the same profile, she has scrubbed all mentions of CapNav and any mention of working with Mary Burke

What a great person, aiding the opponent and not acknowledging her friends presence.

Textbook example of the old saying "With friends like this who needs enemies?"

People tell me that she will probably be on Hillary's team in 2016.  I am actually a fan of Hillary in 2016 but if Tanya is in, I am out!

We were Bjorked this time, I wont be Bjorked again!

  1. Not exactly a sign of someone with strong management skills is it?
Makes the Trek firing claims sound credible even if they are not.
The whole Burke thing was a stumbling bumbling road from the first step.
    Shaking my head.

    3. If you consider this "sexist" then Bernie is not the one who is an idiot here;

    4. Does James Carville own every decision Mary Matalin make? You're judging their marriage now? This just makes YOU a horrible person and not a liberal or progressive, but closer to the Republicans on views of gender. This is sexist. If you can't see that then all hope is lost for you.

    5. No but if you a partner in a business you should have some say in what your business expenditures are. Unless you dont think she is qualified to do that and then that would make you sexist.

I am NOT Judging their marriage, I am judging how they spend their money, because how they spend their money directly effects me!

I do think though, that at a bare minimum, a spouse should not be openly working against you to fail. Maybe that just means Tyre is a complete ass and tanya is innocent.

My questions are did he tell her? did she tell Mary? were they upfront and honest about this? DId she tell her husband and inside info on the campaign? Was he ever in a position to see or hear anything damaging to the campaign?

You also keep skipping over the fact that Tanya has scrubbed her profile and disavows all capnav or even Mary Burke relationship.

seriously as a campaign advisor and you would not advise to keep Tanya Bjork out of the process, then let me know because we have no chance of ever changing our fortunes in WI.

    7. It's ridiculous that Bernie is being accused of sexism more than once when his comment was 100% gender neutral, there is no "she" or "her" or any indication of gender bias at all. You people are projecting and seeing things that aren't there. Those are the kinds of attitudes that help lead working people to think liberals are self-entitled elitists. You aren't helping the cause by making unsubstantiated accusations like that.

    8. anonymous - you're an idiot. Troll under the sewer rather than on this site. Maybe you'll find another GOP loser under there.

  2. Question should be "who's on the take?' on the Burke campaign?

    2. Your Jeffypoo comment shows exactly what our problem is in Wisconsin. You have over a million people who are willing to vote someone in because they will screw others over. When your despicable governor makes the comment that they won because he was for things, it might be the most idiotic take on how he runs things. yea anon at 9:52, your jackass of a governor is for something, he's for whatever will advance his career and give him the biggest payout. In reality you, you think you won. That's not funny, but I actually pity you and all who have either been mislead or believe in corrupt leaders. So which is it for you?

  5. No question Bjork is to be blamed for anemic messaging, poor candidate introduction, ghost-written and tepid jobs plan, cold and unrelatable image portrayed by the candidate, and ever allowing her candidate in front of the press unprepared on breaking issues. You really see how bad Bjork sucks when you look at how her Iowa Republican counterpart turned loony Joni Ernst into a folksy, no-nonsense juggernaut. Jeff is right. Bjork should be branded as toxic for the Democrats and kicked to the curb. She blew it.

  6. Tanya Bjork is really a good example of how the ideas for leadership in the Party come from a small, established in crowd. Our DPW gets its marching orders from the DNC, right along with the financial backing, which is key. They are embracing the neoliberalism of Thatcher and Reagan, instead calling it a "Third Way" to be palatable for Democrats of our generation.
Your Gores, Liebermans, and Clintons brought us Doyle, Abele, Barrett and Burke. Our party has drifted to the right, and look what's happened! Gore and Clinton were all with Tommy Thompson's W2: tear down the "Welfare State." What do you think Grover Norquist is all about? He and Abele are OK with each other. Grover can go to his NRA meetings and Abele can go to his young professionals gatherings, but they're both on the same page ECONOMICALLY. And they both couldn't care less about democracy or the poor.
Did Mary Burke associate with winning progressive initiatives like corporate personhood money, raising minimum wage? She never did or could because the DPW couldn't, either.
In many ways, the Democrats and Republicans are two sides to the same coin circa 1900. Democrats could use progressive ideas to remedy this bad symbiotic relationship, giving Democrats something to vote for.

Take heed to Paul Wellstone and Elizabeth Warren.
