Mike Tate Has Got To Go(Version 2014)!

By Jeff Simpson

Mike Tate was on The Mike Gousha show yesterday and embarrassed the whole state, much less the Democratic Party.

Some lowlights:

BUT YOU HAVE SCOTT WALKER, AND THEIR SOMEONE IN MY -- IT'S DIFFICULT FOR MY PARTY TO UNDERSTAND, BUT PEOPLE HAVE A GENUINE AFFECTION FOR HIM. ESPECIALLY IN THE GREEN BAY MARKET AND NORTHERN WISCONSIN, THEY THINK THIS IS A GUY THAT CAME IN AND TOOK BOLD ACTION. I DISAGREE WITH THE ACTIONS HE TOOK, BUT HE DID TAKE BOLD ACTION.

Yes "Dropping the Bomb" on Wisconsinites is very bold action.   Of course the definition of a bomb is:

1bomb

noun \ˈbäm\
: a device that is designed to explode in order to injure or kill people or to damage or destroy property
the bomb : nuclear weapons
: something that is a complete failure

Technically Mr. Tate is right Scott Walker did take bold action.  I do not know however, if that is praiseworthy.

I'M THE SAME GUY THAT I WAS AFTER THE 2012 ELECTION,

I called for your ouster then also because it was a Democratic wave in every state but WI.

BUT MY FOCUS, WHETHER I RUN AGAIN OR DON'T, IS GOING TO BE HOW CAN WE KEEP MOVING FORWARD?

The best way to move the party forward is to have Mike Tate resign,  effective immediately.    Please sign this petition and contact the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and tell them it is time for a leadership change -  (608) 255-5172 (voice) or info@wisdems.org.

One thing that was noticeable from this interview, is that there was not a single mention of the Democratic candidates who just ran or the tactics used against them.   The massive American Federation for Children's smear campaign against candidates all over the state or that the media had an October surprise based on the recollections of Swastika guy.

At least you used your five minutes on TV, post election, to sing the praises of Scott Walker.

I wonder if Mike Tate is angling to be the next Wisconsin Railroad Commissioner?

  1. I understand what he is saying and he is actually right! There is a significant number of people out there who like leaders who lead and think about the rightness of it later.
They are comfortable with the confidence.
What Mr. Tate has failed to understand is that Dems need to project similar confidence and NOT similar views. THAT is the great mistake. When Dem candidates run around saying that "I'm a fiscal conservative too!" it simply reinforces the rightness of the Walkerite ideas. No amount of his statistical magic number crunching and infinitive splitting will compensate for that.

    1. BINGO! I hear a lot of excuse-making from Tate, and not a lot of fighting back against those false memes. Tate has failed to give an alternative to Walker's failed policies that sinks in and hits home for those people in NE Wisconsin, and that's the top reason why he must go

    2. It looks to me like the Dem Party doesn't even try up here in the northeast. I saw republican booths this summer at the Calumet and Brown county fairs, but nothing from the dems. Also, republicans run unopposed down ticket in Oconto county.
It doesn't have to be this way, for example I believe more rural folks are concerned about having good well water, than the one big corporate farmer that contributes to the repiublican. If these folks are reached out to with a very simple message that is short and easy to understand, they are possible dem voters.

    3. I hung out with the dems here in madison doing phone banking for the recall. Good volunteers, but he actual party employess were a Bunch of useless jerks wasting time and money using call lists that had us calling people who never were on our side and never going to be on our side; despite their contact sheet saying they were "strongly democratic". I would try to call attention to removing these people from the call lists only to be met with hostility from greasy 23 year old punks. Hell, they couldn't even take the time to explain how to do things to new volunteers. The look of pain on their faces when some eager volunteer asked them yet another question about phone banking or worse, when the newbies had suggestions on how things could be improved was something to behold.

  2. In essence, Tate is NOT a LEADER. Proof being he has not lead WI Dems anywhere. Our state has been sold to the oligarchy and the 99% are being flushed.

  3. Another terrible performance by Tate. We can't afford to wait until summer for him to go. Resign now and let the 1st Vice Chair mop up the mess between now and the next election for DPQ Chair.

  4. No, when Scott Walker "dropped the (Act 10) bomb" on unsuspecting citizens, it wasn't a "bold" move - it was an easy one, given he and his political party held a majority in the Wisconsin Legislature.

I remember even Pat Buchanan saying as much back in 2010.

  5. I had a freind who used to hand out bumper stickers that said "Democrats-R-Republicans" My sainted mother was offended by this but had to admit it was at least partially true.at best, they far are too willing to remain within the dominant paradigm. as a drunken and boastful neocon once said, back during the reign of president Cheney, "Dems can only react, while we make the history ".

  6. Why hasn't the Democratic Party (state or national) demanded an investigation of the ballot-counting machines where election results differed so drastically from exit polls? Doesn't anybody there read bradblog.com?

    1. Kind of have wondered that myself. It's interesting how all of these races were 3-6 points off in favor of the GOP. Just sayin
