By now we all know the ridiculous temper tantrum power grab that the Republicans, led by Robin Vos and Scott Fitzgerald just pulled off to diminish the power of the election winners this last week.

I am not going to rehash that here, if you need to know more about it, or anything about it, there is not a person who covered this, better in the country than James Rowan at the Political Environment.  Go here and read up/catch up on it! 

Here is the account that was up on Madison.com. 

Republican lawmakers, after an all-night push made mostly behind closed doors, passed legislation Wednesday morning diminishing the powers of incoming Gov. Tony Evers and Attorney General Josh Kaul and curtailing the timeline for early voting.
A Senate amendment to the bill was made public shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday, and senators passed it at about 6 a.m.
The vote was 17-16, with Sen. Rob Cowles, R-Green Bay, the lone GOP "no" vote and all Democrats opposed.

 What I want to focus on here is the current face of the Republican Party - Robin Vos. 

I have been documenting his unethical exploits for ages.   From my time at Blogging Blue - Here, here, here, here etc... and of course here at CogDis.  Others have had plenty to say also like here and here. 

There is plenty of places to go to see the egregious things that Robin Vos has done, here, we will take a look at who Robin Vos is. 

Robin Vos is a 50 year old, UW-Whitewater graduate, who has roomed with Reince Priebus and Scott Suder. Vos is now the owner of 21 rental properties in Whitewater, WI under the unoriginal name of Whitewater College Rentals.  As one would expect, his history as a landlord is not a very good one, and he is not Better Business Bureau accredited.  I know housing is a major problem in America, but if you can avoid renting from Robin I would highly recommend it!

Vos also owns a popcorn business called RoJos Popcorn (if you were Robin Vos you would not use your name on your company either).   You can leave a yelp review here.   Like Vos has treated ethics in Wisconsin, he has let his website slide to non existent, so I can not guide you to that.    I hope you all make sure never to buy a single kernel of "Rojo's Popcorn".

Vos, also has problems in his personal life.  For all of you ladies out there, the thrice married Vos has described his turn ons as:

 His "turn-ons: Long hair, Skinny dipping, Flirting, Public displays of affection, Dancing, Power, Money, Brainiacs, Boldness/Assertiveness.

As the unmarried(but has a friend) Julainne Appling points out:

Julaine Appling, president of Wisconsin Family Council says, “Governor Walker’s proclamation rightly identifies the benefits of marriage and the costs of marital breakdown, not only for the men, women and children directly involved, but also for the entire state.” The proclamation reads in part, “Marriage breakdown takes a toll on the emotional, physical and financial well-being of the entire family, and increases the public cost for human service programs.”  

As Robin Vos has said in the past:

  Robin Vos, R-Burlington, who announced last week that he is a single guy and that, "Saying I am against birth control is to say I am against water." His profile says he does want two children, though.(edit note: he finally got his two kids, just took him three marriages to do it)

 The Ladies Man from Burlington, has a history of control issues also.  First he actually was with former married Rep. Michelle Litjens(while he was also married) and as Speaker of the Assembly, was technically Litjens boss.   Our friends at One Wisconsin Now also unearthed that Vos has kept Representative Samantha Kirkman on his payroll for the last 5 + years.  It is best to have the members beholding to you in as many ways as possible.

But WAIT there is more.  The best man(term used loosely) at Robin's third wedding was former House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger, a Republican from Ohio.  Cliffy is not a former Speaker of the House in Ohio because he had too much fun at the Vos/Litjen soiree.   Rosenberger is no longer House Speaker because he is dirty!  The FBI was looking into his travel and spending habits since he liked to take international trips paid for by lobbyists. 

Before you ask, Rosenberger traveled with more than just lobbyists, Robin Vos was his travel partner.   No need to worry though, what the Lobbyists did not pay for, the Wisconsin taxpayers did. 
We can assume that Vos makes for a good travel partner because he has no scruples, can be bought as easily as Rosenberger and likes to tell stories of his sexual exploits with Litjens(sorry if you were eating).

Then there is the latest power grab, while Vos is being criticized from Historians, pundits, politicians and citizens all over the country, Vos is desperately trying to stop the attacks.   Vos started with this:

The first act of every elected official is to take the oath of office and swear to uphold the law. So it’s troubling that after being elected governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers’ first promise was to undermine a state law that requires welfare recipients to work.

Luckily, while the media is missing in many parts of our political atmosphere, people are stepping up and taking their place.  Here a Professor from Georgetown weighs in.

So Robin Vos was shown to be disingenious(who knew), so he tried again(with the same results). 

 The hyperbole has been excessive during the last week.

If anyone would know hyperbole it would be Robin Vos.    Like the time he said 1 in 4 public schools are failing, and was given a pants on fire rating.  The time when Robin Vos, attacking one of the leading research institutions of the world, UW-Madison, by saying their professors are preying on the taxpayers by wasting time studying "the ancient mating habits of whatever" .   or the time he called three WISGOP Senators "terrorists" because they negotiated a deal with Scott Walker on he budget and did not include him.    While far from the last, one of my personal favorites, was when he compared recall elections to cancer.  Apparently, depending on how the election goes, depends on if should listen to the voters or not. 

The guy who has, at great cost to taxpayers, gerrymandered our state to ensure he runs it from the Assembly, is never scared to bring full blown ignorancy or hyperbole to any debate, and now that he is caught and exposed for the power grab he is doing he is speaking up against what he has built his career on. 

Robin Vos should be ashamed.

Another Conservative Reformer Is Reforming

Conservative family values Gov. Eric Greitens, the guy who campaigned on family values:

His campaign capitalized on his military service as a Navy SEAL, his work as founder of a veterans’ charity “and most importantly, a proud husband and father”.

The problem is, Mr. Greiten was also sleeping with someone else's wife at the time(still checking to see if he is related to Robin Vos).   The thing is this Navy Seal knew how to keep himself out of trouble, because he tied his mistress up, took pictures of her naked and let her know that if she told anyone he would plaster her nude pics all over the Internet. 

Surprisingly, this did not set very well with Greiten's mistresses husband:

Looks like someone in Missouri did not vote Republican.   

The family values GOP rising superstar is so confident in his abilities that he has already purchased ericgreitensforpresident.com.  Imagine the affairs he can have in the White House with Air Force One and the world at the palm of his hands.   

One thing we know for certain, is that wherever Greitens career takes him, we know who his biggest fan is:

Target Practice On Your Ex, The NRA Way

The NRA has given Scott Walker an A+ rating and had this to say about him:

Fairfax, Va. – On behalf of our five million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse Scott Walker for reelection as Governor of Wisconsin.
Based on his leadership on Second Amendment issues, Walker has earned an "A+" rating from the NRA-PVF in the 2014 general election.  An "A+" is the highest possible rating and is reserved for elected officials with an excellent public record on critical NRA issues who have also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.
"Scott Walker is a battle-tested leader in the fight to preserve Second Amendment rights in Wisconsin," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF.  "He's never wavered, never backed down and never stood still in the fight to protect our freedoms."

Scott Walker has also taken a decent amount of money from the NRA and that does not count anything under the table.

Well Scott Walkers good friends at the NRA just held their annual meeting, where they endorsed Trump for President.    While that is no surprise, what else was going in is!  

It seems that one of their main vendors, had a "Brilliant" idea on how to sell more products and that idea was this:

At the National Rifle Association's annual convention in Houston, Texas this weekend, a company that sells shooting targets "designed to help YOU prepare for the upcoming Zombie outbreak" displayed much of what is wrong with the pro-gun movement with its foul "Ex-Girlfriend" target that bleeds when you shoot it. The more you shoot the iconization of the woman you hate (a 'slut' with her large breasts bulging out of her tanktop) the more she bleeds and her body, once sexy, becomes mangled.  It is a startling reminder of the normalization of violence against women in America, and the latest in delegitimization of the pro-gun lobby's claims that firearms are an equalizer for women.

This of course comes as no surprise, since last year they had a a target designed to look like President Obama.(because freedom and all)

Do not worry, it is not like the NRA hates women, it actually shows how much they like and respect women!

The company has a line of 15 zombies (one of which resembled President Obama so much that it was pulled from the conference by the NRA) and only one is female. "To discriminate against Women by not having them represented in our product selection would be just plain sexist," the website says. YES, because having the only female character in your line of mannequin targets be "the ex-girlfriend" doesn't reinforce sexist and fatally dangerous stereotypes. 

Should be quite the interesting election season!   Has anyone asked Michelle Litjens and Rebecca Kleefisch if they have bought their "ex" target?

What's Wrong With the WISDEMS? Gordon Hintz!

If you want to know why the Democratic Party has went from controlling the legislature and the Governors office to being irrelevant in the state, I can sum it up in two words.

Gordon Hintz.

I am not talking about when he threatened Michelle Litjens with violence, thus allowing the Republicans to switch the debate from the horrors of ACT10 to the violence of the Dems.   I am also not talking about the fact that he likes to drive without license or insurance.  I am not even talking about the fact that in a state where sexual trafficing is a major problem was arrested for visiting prostitutes.  I mean come on, in Wisconsin even Robin Vos can get dates(they are usually married but still dates) without paying.  

I am actually referring to his latest hot headed rant.

It seems that someone has decided that they want to perform their civic duty in America and run for office.  Apparently, they did not get the permission of Mr. Hintz and it does not sit well with him.

From Jessie Opoien and the Cap Times:

This is such a distraction," said Rep. Gordon Hintz, D-Oshkosh. "Think about this. Hopefully all 35 of us (Democrats in the Assembly) are going to come out strongly for Robb. Every dollar and every door that we do for our colleague is another dollar and another door that we’re not doing in a Republican district that we can win. When we pick up a seat or two fewer in the fall, I’m going to think about these so-called progressive hypocrites that went after this unnecessary seat to make themselves happy or to high-five their friends at the co-op."

Let's take a look at this statement:

There are 35(out of 99 seats) in the assembly that are democrats,  That means they have lost 64 seats to Republicans.  I am not sure how many doors and dollars they have spent trying to win some of the 64 Republican seats but it is not working.

*  "Progressive Hypocrites" like the vast majority of elected Democratic elected officials who came out strong for Hillary Clinton despite her poor record on Human rights and middle class job?  

*  He has managed so far to completely rip on the part of the Democratic base that belongs to Co-Ops.   Now we know why they voted for Nader.  

There is more:

Hintz, who has served in the Assembly since 2007, called Anderson's move shortsighted.
He also noted that Anderson's campaign is staffed by current and former members of the League of Conservation Voters and Fair Wisconsin, groups that have endorsed Republicans as recently as 2014.
 

* why stop at Co-Ops, now Hintz has offended the League of Conservation Voters AND Fair Wisconsin. 

There is even more: 

  Hintz said he generally has mixed feelings about primary challenges in safe districts, adding that it's not enough for the incumbent to have voted with the party. Kahl, he said, has been a team player who works to get Democrats elected throughout the state.That's the kind of attitude progressives should want in a candidate, Hintz argued.
"I'm in the business of trying to elect more Democrats, not trying to increase the size of the Solidarity Singers," Hintz said.

*  As for the working to get more Democrats elected, see above.  there are 35/99.   They are not working that hard.  

*   So now Mr. Hintz has made fun of the Solidarity Singers.   The only people who Hintz seems not have ripped on as part of the Democratic base are a few lobbyists.  

But wait there is so much more:, Robb Kahl jumps in:

The incumbent, Kahl, hasn't decided whether he'll seek re-election — but he talks like a candidate looking toward a future campaign.
Kahl said the delay is more personal than anything — he and his family are moving to a new home and haven't had much time to discuss it together. He said he'll make his decision known within the next few weeks out of courtesy to anyone else who might be considering a run.

The deadline to turn in signatures is June 1.  It is the end of APril, if Mr, Kahl decides to not run and lets us know that "in a few weeks" who can turn it around in a few days?   

In response to Anderson's suggestions that Kahl isn't representing the interests of his party or his constituents, Kahl challenged him to point to a vote demonstrating that.
Anderson cited a 2013 bill that prohibits people from trafficking food stamp benefits. The measure, signed into law by Walker in July 2013,passed the Assembly on a bipartisan 73-24 vote. Kahl was one of 13 Democrats to support it.
He also cited a bill that would have made it easier for private, out-of-state companies to buy municipal water systems. That bill passed the Assembly on a voice vote, which means no roll call was taken. The Senate did not take it up.

Challenge offered and Challenge accepted.  Unfortunately there is more:

"He (Anderson), like a lot of, frankly, extremists on the far end of the spectrum, cannot seem to get past this fascination or obsession with Scott Walker," Kahl said.

So true, except for the fact that our schools have been devastated, major companies have closed down, we have record debt, hundreds of thousands of workers have taken majkor pay cuts,  and we have given millions to donors via the scam of WEDC,  Except for that one would hardly know that Scott Walker was Governor.  Move along nothing to see here.   

"This whole fascination with whether or not I’ve been a Democrat since birth is frankly nauseating, and the voters are sick of it, too," Kahl said. "My journey here has not been a straight line, but I also do not apologize for that fact ... I think the majority of voters in this state don’t simply live by this strict ideology of politics that is really only being dictated to us by the extremists on both sides."

WIll someone send that memo to the Democratic party and Hillary Clinton they did not seem to get it.  

"People like Jimmy Anderson don’t understand that reality," Kahl said. "It’s clear he just wants to come out and take this hard stance on the far end of the spectrum. That’s his prerogative, but I can assure you, if he is elected, the people of the 47th will not be served, because he will get nothing done."

Nobody works as hard as the current group of Dems, I mean without them we would not have been able to give the billionaire Bucks owners 500 million dollars of our money to build a new arena.   When you have a solid record like the current Wisdems, it makes sense that you would speculate as to how hard others would work.    '

Also nothing drives up turnout on election day like sitting legislators rip[ping on their base.  

Besides the person who these two are skewering for wanting to be involved in our democracy?

Jimmie Anderson:

Anderson said his desire to serve in public office stems from personal tragedy. In 2010, he and his family were hit by a drunk driver in California. The crash left Anderson paralyzed from the chest down and killed his parents and younger brother.
A California native, Anderson and his wife decided to stay in Dane County after finishing their law and veterinary degrees in Madison. He founded a nonprofit, Drive Clear, aimed at preventing drunk driving and helping its victims. With that organization established, Anderson started looking for his next move.
Having benefited from the highly politicized Affordable Care Act in the treatment of his injuries, Anderson was inspired to run for office. The provision of the law prohibiting health insurance policies from placing lifetime limits on most benefits kicked in just as Anderson had learned he was close to reaching his plan's lifetime limit.
"It was a wake-up call," he said. "I had been kind of cynical about politics, and it made me realize I needed to do something."

The nerve of Mr. Anderson surviving a horrible tragedy and wanting to give back to the public with his life that has been forever changed.  

Gordon Hintz owes Mr. Anderson and the Democratic base an apology.   

He owes it immediately and publicly.    

Right to Work is Wrong For Wisconsin

 Mayor Paul Soglin tells how wrong the Republicans are in trying to rush through Right to Work in Wisconsin.  

MADISON (WKOW)-- Saturday Madison Mayor Paul Soglin blasted plans to pass right-to-work legislation in the senate next week.
The Senate is set to hold a public hearing on the bill Tuesday and take a vote Wednesday. The bill would make it illegal to require a person to join an union or pay union dues as a requirement of their employment.
Mayor Soglin says it will hurt workers and credits unions with boosting the local economy.
“In Madison and Dane County where we have one of the most robust economies in the nation, where we are going contrary to the trend in the rest of the state, which is what really needs to be presented in a legislative hearing process, we have strong unions,” Mayor Soglin said.

The Wisconsin Business Alliance, a business group that actually cares about Wisconsin and has some actual business sense, has found out that Right to work isn't popular in Wisconsin.   

I spent this morning calling local chambers of commerce in Republican state senate districts in an effort to get their take on the so-called “right to work” legislation that is scheduled to be introduced at the State Capitol this week.
Since the State Chamber of Commerce, or WMC, is strongly supporting the legislation, I was curious to learn where local business associations stand on the issue.
Specifically, I wanted to learn the answer to this question: Is WMC really representing Wisconsin’s broad and diverse business community when it claims that businesses want legislators to enact “right to work” laws?The answer was astonishing: I could not find a single Chamber in the districts of senators Fitzgerald, Cowles, Moulton, Petrowski, Nass, Lasee, or Harsdorf that supports “right to work.”In fact, I heard statements like these again and again: “We’re not taking a position on that.” “We don’t take a stand on political issues.” “We only advocate for political issues when there’s a strong consensus among our members — and we don’t have consensus on this.”

Let's see, the Mayor of one of the best cities in the country to live is against it, the Chambers of Commerce in every Republican Senators district will not speak in favor of it, so who is for it.  

O yeah ALEC. 

There is of course a full daily dose of Irony, that the party that was abhorred, by one of Mary Burke's consultants copying his earlier work while writing policy, then introducing as their first bill, one plagiarized word for word from their masters at ALEC.

Of course it would take a media that cared about objective facts and the search for truth to actually bring that up.   It even took one of the Republicans long time donor's and cheerleaders to point out that not a single Republican campaigned on this issue that they are now fast tracking.   

What does a campaign mean when almost none of the major policy departures contained in the budget were proposed or debated during the year-long exchange of policy ideas by Democrat Mary Burke and Republican Scott Walker?
The major issue in that hard-fought and money-drenched contest was job creation. That priority has almost disappeared from the Republican dialogue now coming out of the governor’s office and Republican-controlled capitol. As if to declare victory, the current focus is now about workforce development and filling jobs.
Lest we celebrate prematurely, there are still about a half million unemployed or underemployed adults in the state, many in the central city of Milwaukee; we still have a brain drain of more than 10,000 college graduates; and our wage levels are still in the bottom third of states.

A little digging though and we see exactly where this bill is coming from:

It's a Sad Affair

When Corporations have higher standards than our Government!



Johnson Controls CEO, Alex Molinaroli, recently had an affair with one of Johnson Controls consultants.   The information became public in court records of his divorce from his wife of 28 years.  

This led to a conflict of interest and ethics violations for the CEO who had a total compensation package of $19.5 Million/yr.   After an internal investigation, they did find that Mr. Molinaroli did violate the company's ethics policy.

Tuesday's filing marked the first time that the company had announced that its executive committee found that Molinaroli had violated the Johnson Controls ethics policy, which required him "to timely alert the Audit Committee to a situation that could be perceived to raise issues of conflict of interest," the filing says.

After the investigation, they ended up reducing his compensation by $1,000,000 and firing the consultant.

As a result, the compensation committee of the board reduced Molinaroli's annual incentive performance payment program by 20%. His performance payment was $3.9 million, which the filing says is 20% or $1 million below the maximum payment of $4.9 million that he could have received for his performance last year.
The proxy statement said the board decided to terminate its long-term engagement with Ihle's firm, Lichter & Ihle, "in light of the nature of the work performed by the outside consulting firm for the company and to avoid any perception of conflicts or potential future conflicts.

 If only our elected officials had such an ethics code they had to live up to!

The Ellis Incident and The Litjens Factor

The Ellis Incident, where State Senator Mike Ellis was caught on video tape discussing things like creating a super PAC to attack Penny Bernard Schaber, his would have been Democratic opponent until he decided not to run again, is a gift that just keeps giving.

It's raised a lot of questions and had a lot of ramifications, including the outing of one of WISGOP's main operatives, Judith Rhodes Engels.

There is, however, one aspect of the story that seems to have gone under the radar through the saga.

On Friday, April 11, just two days after the first edited video was released, former Michelle Litjens appeared on Joy Cardin's radio show, "Week in Review."

You can listen to a recording of the show here.  The subject of the Ellis Incident goes from about the 11:00 minute mark to about the 25:00 minute mark.  But here are some of the highlights that the reader/listener should pay heed to:

• At about 11:50, Litjens launches her attack on Ellis, claiming that he has a "big mouth."  She also implies that since he was first elected in 1970, he was "confused" by the changing times.  She also said that he probably didn't even know what a super PAC is, but because he did nothing illegal, this should be the "end of it."  She then throws in that Ellis should have known better after he was another video that showed him to be on the "wrong side" of the voucher issue.
• At 15:20, she brings up the possibility of Ellis being primaried.
• At 15:40, she brags that her phone has been ringing off the hook.
• At 16:00, she rips on Democrats for not supporting vouchers and how wrong she thinks they are for that.
• At 16:30, she again brings up the possibility of a primary race against Ellis, although this time she says she won't run again until her daughter graduates from school. (Since when did she start giving a damn about her family?!)
• At 17:30, Litjens claims that "hundreds" of people have approached her to express their disappointment in Ellis over vouchers.  She doesn't say why they approached her and not Ellis. Hmmm....
• At 18:00, again with the primary, this time saying that Ellis might just want to retire.
• At 20:15, Litjens says that Ellis has a "big mouth" and that this is what happens when one runs their big mouth late at night and after several drinks. She also suggests again that Ellis might not be up for another run.
• At 23:00, Litjens again runs Ellis down and says that the "voters are going to have an opportunity to make a choice."

It's been pretty widely accepted that the fact that Project Veritas was brought in to take Ellis out, although who ordered the hit is not clear.

However, it is very obvious that Litjens was leading the post-video attack on Ellis, laying the groundwork for the upcoming fight if Ellis hadn't decided to hang up his broken gavel. You can see that the oncoming attacks were going to be all about school vouchers, thinking they had a winning issue with that.  It might have won them the primary, but it could very well cost them the seat, which would be more than all right.

The fact that the powers that be chose Litjens to launch the first salvo isn't surprising either.  Given the fact that she is the paramour of Robin Vos and is rumored to have been fundraising for American Federation of Children, she would very probably been aware of the move to take out Ellis - through a primary, if necessary - and the reason why they wanted Ellis out.  The really stunning part of this is that Ellis has been in line with 98% of the Teapublican agenda, but they still wanted him out for not toeing the line enough.

And we have already seen that Litjens has no problems with ordering hits on fellow Republicans that she doesn't feel are far enough to the extreme right fringe zone.  

But it does raise one more question for me - With all of the Republicans who are deciding not to run again, how many of them are choosing so because they could read the writing on the wall and how many of them are walking away in disgust for the level of corruption and bullying that is coming from Scott Walker, Robin Vos and Scott Fitzgerald?

Paging Ren McCormack

Wisconsin's own version of Reverend Shaw Moore is non other than ex assembly rep and adulterer Michelle Litjens.  She came out in White Wisconsin with a strong stance against - grinding at high school dances(seriously).

If you think high school dances are the same as 20 years ago, get ready for some shocking news.  After witnessing Homecoming last fall I thought this kind of dancing can’t be real and I tried to forget what I saw.  Then, this weekend, was another dance. The only way I can describe it is an orgy with clothes on. And that is an understatement.

Think I’m over exaggerating? Take a look. 

This is in every school, in every state. Yes, that means your kid's school too.

Yes, attending parts of two high school dances, and Google images are all noted family values expert Ms. Litjens needs to know what is happening in every high school in Wisconsin.   Then her small government "conservatism" kicks in and she calls for the end of all high school dances!

Parents can’t bury their heads in the sand. Prom is just around the corner. Parents need to stick around at dances and tell schools that this kind of behavior is unacceptable. It is easy to drop girls off at the mall to buy a dress you won’t see till the night of the dance. Parents need to make sure these dresses are appropriate. Parenting isn’t always easy, but a little investment today will pay off tenfold tomorrow.

And if that means no more school dances, then so be it. It may be the right thing to do.

Assembly Speaker, popcorn king and ladies man Robin Vos was out with his version of the upcoming GOP agenda.   However, I stopped reading early on when he admitted to a complete lack of competence:

From Day One in the Assembly, Republicans made private-sector job creation our top priority.

 Umm Robin, if you have been working hard on private-sector job creation as your "TOP PRIORITY".... You failed.   

 The Nation's most recent employment report, which examines job creation in all 50 states, raises a familiar question with renewed urgency: Why is Wisconsin a chronic laggard? According to Wednesday's report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Wisconsin gained 23,963 private-sector jobs in the 12 months from June 2012 through June 2013, a 1.0% increase that ranks the state 37th among the 50 states in the pace of job creation during that period.
The state's ranking slid from a revised rank of 32nd three months earlier, which covered the 12 months through March 2012.
Wisconsin continued to trail the national rate of job creation, as it has since July 2011. The United States created private-sector jobs at a rate of 1.9% in the latest 12-month period, nearly double Wisconsin's 1.0% rate, the data show.

D'OH! 

Robin vos is as good of a legislator, as Homer Simpson is at his job! 

His incompetence at his job, leaves more time for Lobbyists to help him pretend he is Rambo(they let him win):

The lobbyist said that Republicans have become much more creative with fundraising events than Democrats. In July, for instance, RACC held a paintball outing to raise funds for Rep. Travis Tranel, R-Cuba City, that pitted lawmakers against lobbyists.
“It was the first time I did paintball and it was absolutely fantastic,” recalled Tranel, who was reached by phone.
“As far as I remember (the legislators) won, of course,” he said. “(Assembly Speaker) Robin (Vos) is seriously competitive, as you know, and he was the commander.

 Since his fellow republicans in the assembly have to call him Commander, I wonder what his mistress/lobbyist girlfriend calls him?

Any suggestions?

Sex On The Beach(and in the Capitol)

Giggly Cathy Stepp, the fawn killing head of the DNR is beside itself trying to figure out how they curb sex happening at Mazomanie's nude beach:

The agency has been trying to put the kibosh on the bad behavior for more than a decade. In the late 1990s, it closed the beach at night, banned camping on the beach and installed a gate to block vehicles and halt drive-in, drive-out trysts. In 2007, it closed sections of the surrounding woods and cut down brush near the beach to eliminate cover for sex.

But arrests for sex and drugs hit a five-year high in 2011, when wardens arrested 42 people in nine days of surveillance. Last year, the DNR closed another 70 acres around the beach, but it had little effect; wardens issued 22 citations — most for sex — in less than a week of surveillance.

 Of course worrying about the nude beach at the start of winter is a very good distraction from the fact that they are letting eco terrorist Bill Williams, not only run free, but also run the legislature and her office.

Be that as it may, in the holiday spirit and in the spirit of bipartisanship, I am going to offer Ms. Stepp some advice on how to curb the problems at the Mazo Beach.

Stop The Problems At The Capitol And The Walker Administration FIRST!

Monkey see - Monkey Do!

Let's start with Dennis Smith.  Dennis Smith was Karl Rove's buddy who Scott Walker hired to kick thousands of Wisconsinite's off of their healthcare.   Dennis Smith was very glad to do so, he just wanted something in return.

To get laid.

 

Smith,  used Wisconsin taxpayer's money, cell phones, lap tops, offices and travel expenses to bring his MARRIED high school crush here, to do a job that she was unqualified for.  Smith brought Mary Spear to Wisconsin to be his chief legal counsel, a position that she was unqualified for and where she was his only interview(imagine the questions in that interview)!  Not only did Smith use his position to bring to Wisconsin and sleep with his old high school crush, he brought her in as a subordinate to make sure he had the ultimate power over her.

While Dennis Smith was using State taxpayer time and resources to send out this press release:

 "I categorically and unequivocally deny that I have ever had a relationship with Mary Spear beyond friendship," Smith stated.

Married man Dennis Smith was using Wisconsin taxpayer resources to send this to his married subordinate:

“My dearest Mary Elizabeth, let your heart be at peace and rest tonight. We shall weather this storm together. All will be well.”

As Judge William E. Hanrahan said: 

 Three months later, at a June 12, 2013 hearing, in discussing Brophy's request for potentially exculpatory evidence showing an affair had occurred, Judge William E. Hanrahan said this wasn't necessary. Hanrahan essentially said the files provided to the court by Andrew Spear showed that he knew his wife and Smith were having an affair. "I think any objective, reasonable person, upon reading the emails...would not have such a hard time believing it," the judge said.

Who did not care what was happening in this despicable case?  Smith's boss - Scott K Walker.

Apparently Walker felt that two married people having an affair on the taxpayer dime was ok.  Walker also had no problem with Smith's sexual harassment of his subordinates as  Walker did not fire Smith, call for an investigation or even slap him on the wrist.   Women of Wisconsin, there will be NO workplace protection for you if your boss does exactly as Scott Walker wants! 

Finally, after CogDis broke the story of the affair and Smith's role in it - Dennis Smith tucked his tail between his legs and ran away.   Mary Spear is following him to Washington DC.  Its very nice of Smith's wife and children to allow her to do that.   

 Another email surfacing in the case showed that Mary Spear expected to move with Smith to Washington, D.C., once he was tapped for a job by Mitt Romney (had he been elected president). Smith ended up moving anyway after the Spear scandal heated up. He now serves as managing director of the D.C. office of McKenna Long & Aldridge. As for Mary Spear, she is divorcing Andrew.

As Capper says, but wait there is more.   The whole republican Assembly and Senate has been treating the Capitol like its Melrose Place.

Hey wait a minute.  That's not your wife .....and that's not your husband.  What's in the doggy bag?  where you going?  You are the leader of the republican party and now sleeping with a lobbyist?  Is that even legal?  Hmmmmmm!  


When these are your role models, what do you expect out of the citizenry?
