If you think high school dances are the same as 20 years ago, get
ready for some shocking news. After witnessing Homecoming last fall I
thought this kind of dancing can’t be real and I tried to forget what I
saw. Then, this weekend, was another dance. The only way I can describe
it is an orgy with clothes on. And that is an understatement.
This is in every school, in every state. Yes, that means your kid's school too.
Yes, attending parts of two high school dances, and Google images are all noted family values expert Ms. Litjens needs to know what is happening in every high school in Wisconsin. Then her small government "conservatism" kicks in and she calls for the end of all high school dances!
Parents can’t bury their heads in the sand. Prom is just
around the corner. Parents need to stick around at dances and tell
schools that this kind of behavior is unacceptable. It is easy to drop
girls off at the mall to buy a dress you won’t see till the night of the
dance. Parents need to make sure these dresses are appropriate.
Parenting isn’t always easy, but a little investment today will pay off
tenfold tomorrow.
And if that means no more school dances, then so be it. It may be the right thing to do.
Hasn't Michelle read the Bible?
Maybe Ms. Litjens thinks we should all follow her example and save the horizontal bop for late nights in the People's House(as long as they are not singing)!
PS: H/T @rightwisconsin for this hard hitting piece of Litjens wisdom!
Speaking of Vos and Michelle Litjens, Samantha Vos is a student at Concordia University School of Law, in Boise, Idaho.
Robin Vos tends to leave things in ruins ...good for Samantha for getting out from under Robin Vos' suffocating incompetence. From illegal voting to future lawyer. Kudos!
Imagine how much better as a state, Wisconsin will be when we are able to do the same!
Why let little things like marriages and children get in the way of true love.
The loving doesnt stop there....plenty more where that came from.
The next up is Governor Walker's hire for Secretary of Department of Health Services Dennis Smith. We published his story here at CogDis in a two parter ---- Part one here and part two here.
See a quick run down of the story is Dennis Smith used his sweet state job to bring his unqualified high school crush here to work, also in a sweet state job, reporting to him, so he could get what he has been after for years.....her. They just ran into one problem. Her husband.
Her husband, Andrew Spear, found out and unfortunately freaked out. Knowing your wife of many years is having an affair with her boss is not an easy thing to handle. There were also some other extenuating circumstances(that are in the two part series that I will not rehash here) that led to a perfect storm. While Mr. Spear admits that he did over react, that is big news to find out and he did not handle it the best. He also does not have a history of abuse and took a lot of blame to shield his wife.
Anyway, Mr. Spear originally had a bad blow up with Mrs. Spear that resulted in many false charges and
some jail time. The problem that Mr. Spear also ran into is Dennis Smith was a weasel in a different class. One that he was not prepared to handle. See Dennis Smith was able to use the over reaction to his advantage and force the focus away from the affair he was having to Mr. Spear's emotional state and Mr Spear was eaten alive by it.
At a hearing on June 12, in discussing a request from Brian Brophy,
the attorney for Mr. Spear, for discovery of potentially exculpatory
evidence showing an affair had occurred, Hanrahan said this wasn’t
necessary.
“It’s very bizarre that you would come to court asking the court to
turn over information that might tend to suggest that she (Mary Spears)
was actually having an extramarital affair when he (Andrew Spears)
already knew it, as evidenced by the letters that were in the provider’s
files sent by your client,” Hanrahan noted. “I think any objective,
reasonable person, upon reading the e-mails that he furnished, would not
have such a hard time believing it.”
Scott Walker has oroven, that if you will help advance his presidential ambitions, he will gladly open up the Wisconsin taxpayer check book to you. Smith was able to use the cover of two Wisconsin government jobs, unlimited use of WI taxpayer funded cell phones, computers, buildings and countless expenses to carry on an affair with his lifelong crush. Mrs. Spear however, had a 20+ year solid marriage so Smith needed to to bring out the big guns to close this deal:
After Democrats took over the White House in 2008, Smith became an
activist for the Heritage Foundation on health care, writing a piece urging states to drop out of Medicaid.
He became a high profile hire for Walker, who brought Smith on in
January 2011 as Health Services Secretary. Smith quickly became the
point man for Walker in resisting Obamacare in Wisconsin, and was known
nationally as a state official who could be depended on to criticize Obamacare.
But Smith meanwhile made contact with an old friend he had known
since grade school, Mary Spear. While she had worked as a lawyer in
years past, there is no evidence she had a job at the time Smith hired
her as his chief legal counsel in January 2012. A lawyer with the
Department of Health Services told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel there
was no other candidate for the job, but Smith claimed he contacted other
candidates, without naming any names. Within just eight months of her
hiring, their affair had gotten to the point that their revealing emails
were discovered by Andrew Spear, precipitating his misdemeanor battery
against his wife.
At the June 12 hearing for Andrew Spear, Brophy noted that “at some
point in time Mr. Spear saw… e-mails between Ms. Spear and her father
talking about going to Washington should candidate Romney have won the
election.” The implication is that Smith would have returned to
Washington D.C. if Mitt Romney won the 2012 presidential election, and
Mary Spear would have joined him.
Of course that didn’t happen, but Smith ended up moving anyway after
the Spear scandal heated up. He now serves as managing director of the
DC office of McKenna Long & Aldridge. As for Mary Spear, she is
divorcing Andrew and a source tells me her condo in Madison now looks
un-lived in. The rumor mill has it that she now spends much of her time
in our nation’s capitol.
Anyone who truly thought that the Romney/Ryan ticket had a chance of winning the White House, truly was vulnerable. Apparently, causing tens of thousands of people to lose their healthcare is not a big enough of a thrill. Dennis Smith preyed upon his direct report Mary Spear's vulnerability, and his position of power, to get laid, all on our dime. Something he should be proud to explain to his wife and kids.
BIG and I mean BIG, government Wisconsin republican Dean Kaufert, with the approval of the Speaker of the ASSembly Robin Vos, have authored a bill telling you what you must eat daily! Seriously!
The party that threw a fit when NYC Mayor Bloomberg wanted to ban big gulp soda's, is now planning your daily meals. You can not make this stuff up!
FoodShare Reform legislation, authored by Rep. Dean Kaufert [R –
Neenah], passed the Assembly State Affairs committee Tuesday, April 30
on a 7-2 vote. An amendment to the bill which was also passed by the
committee added specificity to the reform proposal and would require
FoodShare recipients to use at least 2/3 (67%) of their monthly benefits
on staple food products. Eligible staple food products would include
the items on the WIC list, meat, pork, chicken, fish, and vegetables.
“The FoodShare Reform legislation will make sure we continue
to help those truly in need in our communities with basic food
necessities, while at the same time reduce the abuse and misuse of this
program,” Kaufert said. “The original intent of the food stamp program
was to provide the basic necessities, not luxury items and this bill
will move us back in that direction.”
Those takers in society dont need ketchup or mustard or salt or pepper or what bread. They will eat what the Wisconsin republicans tell them to eat and they will expect a "thank you"card n return!
We also know that Vos is quite the ladies man, and after throwing his 2nd wife to the curb is back on the market. (edit note: rumors of why he got divorced and coincidences between his divorce and other republican family value lawmakers divorces will remain as rumors for the time being. However know that since the republicans have taken over our government, it has been like Melrose Place in Madison. . Draw your own conclusions for the time being)
Which brings us to asking some questions that need to be asked:
* Did Robin go to the polls with his wife? Did she tell Robin that she voted those days? Why would she be a resident of Idaho and living in WI? What is the difference between Robin Vos & John Edwards? How can a family values "conservative" bring themselves to vote for Robin Vos? Is it simply because he has an "R" after his name? Why doesn't the Racine Journal Times cover this? If she voted during the recall, does that mean that Scott Walker is not a legitimately elected Governor? Why doesn't the republicans who SEEM to care so deeply about "free and fair" elections, not seem to be the least bit upset about this? Why has Robin Vos gotten away with such despicable behavior?
voter fraud in general is rare. And that particular form of voter
fraud is "virtually non-existent," according to the extensive
public-records search conducted by News21, a nonpartisan investigative
news project funded by the Carnegie and Knight foundations. Researchers
filed more than 2,000 public-records requests and reviewed nearly 5,000
court documents, official records and media reports to get their
information.
They identified 2,068 alleged cases of voter fraud since the year
2000, a period during which there have been more than 600 million votes
cast in presidential elections alone. That, the study noted, is an
"infinitesimal amount." It also showed a total of 10 cases of in-person voter fraud during that period.
10 cases of in-person voter fraud in more than 600 million votes cast!!! Let that sink in. But wait there is more!
The News21 analysis of its election fraud database shows:
In-person voter-impersonation fraud is rare. The database shows
207 cases of other types of fraud for every case of voter impersonation.
“The fraud that matters is the fraud that is organized. That’s why
voter impersonation is practically non-existent because it is difficult
to do and it is difficult to pull people into conspiracies to do it,”
said Lorraine Minnite, professor of public policy and administration at
Rutgers University.
There is more fraud in absentee ballots and voter registration
than any other categories. The analysis shows 491 cases of absentee
ballot fraud and 400 cases of registration fraud. A required photo ID at
the polls would not have prevented these cases.
“The one issue I think is potentially important, though more or less
ignored, is the overuse of absentee balloting, which provides far more
opportunity for fraud and intimidation than on-site voter fraud,” said
Daniel Lowenstein, a UCLA School of Law professor.
Of reported election-fraud allegations in the database whose
resolution could be determined, 46 percent resulted in acquittals,
dropped charges or decisions not to bring charges.
Minnite says prosecutions are rare. “You have to be able to show
that people knew what they were doing and they knew it was wrong and
they did it anyway,” she said. “It may be in the end they (prosecutors)
can’t really show that the people who have cast technically illegal
ballots did it on purpose.”
Felons or noncitizens sometimes register to vote or cast votes
because they are confused about their eligibility. The database shows 74
cases of felons voting and 56 cases of noncitizens voting.
Voters make a lot of mistakes, from accidentally voting twice to voting in the wrong precinct.
Election officials make a lot of mistakes, from clerical errors —
giving voters ballots when they’ve already voted — to election workers
confused about voters’ eligibility requirements.
Their final result?
Voter fraud at the polls is an insignificant aspect of American
elections,” said elections expert David Schultz, professor of public
policy at Hamline University School of Business in St. Paul, Minn.
“There is absolutely no evidence that (voter impersonation fraud)
has affected the outcome of any election in the United States, at least
any recent election in the United States,” Schultz said.
The problem with Professor Schultz, is he has not extensively studied the republican party!
Right here in Wisconsin, we know that powerful republican Robin Vos's third ex-wife, was recently caught voting in WI(during the recall election, when she was still married toVos), despite the fact she is currently a resident of Idaho.
Secondly we have the video of Joel Kleefisch running down the line and voting for whoever is not around.
Then of course we have Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan buying votes at Cousins subs.
White, a Republican, was accused of lying about his home address on
voter registration forms in order to continue receiving a stipend for
serving on his town's council. To comply with state law requiring the
removal of convicted felons from office, Gov. Mitch Daniels, a fellow
Republican, appointed White's deputy as an interim replacement. The
irony is that White has been an outspoken defender of controversial
voter identification laws, which are purportedly aimed at stamping out
the kind of fraud he was found guilty of committing.
Of course while the republicans continue to pretend they are just worried about everyone's vote being counted we know that is flat out not true!
How do we know it isn't true?
They keep telling us! From the OHIO GOP Election official Doug Preisse:
I guess I really actually feel we shouldn’t contort the voting process to accommodate the urban — read African-American — voter-turnout machine. Let’s be fair and reasonable.
To Wisconsin's own, and one of the founders of the "tea party" movement Paul Weyrich!!!
It appears the best way to save the integrity of our elections are to keep republicans away from the polls!
