Today's Political Ad Is Brought To You By The Letter "E"

The Republicans are circling their wagons fast and hard around their favorite cowboy, Sheriff David Clarke.

Among his biggest supporters is the ALEC/dark money group, NRA, which has been running ads left and right.

That said, one has to wonder how much they really support the cowboy.  Take a look at these screenshots of the ads they've been running on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's website:

The gentle reader will notice that not only is the "e" in Clarke silent, it's gone missing!

You would think that if they wanted to support the guy, they might want to at least spell his name right.

I reckon that we can say that NRA should really stand for Not Real Astute.

Fortunately, after Tuesday, we can learn how to spell Moews, as in Chris Moews.

Or is it Chris Meows?

Republicans Encouraged To Do Crossover Vote For Clarke

Ever since he was appointed as Milwaukee County Sheriff by then Governor Scott McCallum, David Clarke has not had an opponent that presented as a serious threat to being reelected to office.

That has changed this year with Chris Moews running a solid campaign.  For months, one could not attend an event in Milwaukee County without running into Moews being there, working the crowd like a pro.

But as hard as Moews has been working to win this election, he has not had a bigger asset to his campaign as Clarke.  Clarke has been consistently been doing more damage to himself than Moews could have ever done.  Clarke has been embarrassing himself regularly with his immature temper tantrums, outlandish comments, ineffective law enforcement, scandals, and irresponsible stunts, like telling people that they shouldn't call 911 in an emergency.

Clarke's behaviors and failures have been so egregious that even some of his fellow conservatives are pulling away from supporting him.  Fortunately for Clarke - and unfortunately for the rest of us, he still has the NRA and its deep pockets supporting him.

But even with the dark money behind him, Clarke and his supporters know that he is in serious danger of losing.  And with that knowledge, they are getting desperate.

Besides sending out whackadoodle mailers to random households, his supporters are urging Republicans to cross over in the primary to vote for him.  The most notable of these attempts is a letter that was sent out by former Governor TOMMY!!! Thompson:

As with Clarke's mailers, Thompson's letter was apparently mailed to random homes.  These images of the letter are courtesy of State Senator Chris Larson.  I am quite sure that Senator Larson was already planning to vote in the Democratic primary.  I am also quite sure that he won't be voting for Clarke.

It is stunts like this that shows the importance of voting in each and every election.  Yes, it's "only" a primary. Yes, it's in the middle of August, when most people are squeezing in vacations and enjoying the warm weather while it lasts.  But it is the lackadaisical attitude towards voting that has allowed people like Scott Walker and David Clarke to stay in office as long as they have been.

Milwaukeeans need to make sure that they get themselves to the polls on Tuesday, August 12, to vote Clarke out once and for all.

David Clarke's Funniest Flier Yet!

David Clarke, the current Milwaukee County Sheriff, has been proving himself to be quite the fool and the spendthrift by sending out multiple campaign fliers to people like myself and James Rowen, who simply demolished Clarke's first mailer.

I have received three such fliers from Clarke so far.  Most of them have the same talking points.  He touts his education, even though he doesn't know that heroin is a depressant and not a hallucinogen. And of course, Clarke boasts of his law enforcement expertise, such as helping drunk drivers get out of snow banks.

It is Clarke's third and most recent mailer that had me laughing out loud.  Take a look for yourself:

The first thing one would notice is the picture of Clarke, playing cowboy.  That is one of the biggest examples of the way Clarke loves to squander taxpayer dollars.  Instead of using that money for fighting crime or something, he uses it to rent a horse and pose for photo ops.

Also, if one looks at the postage mark, one would notice that the mailer originated from West Bend.  Why would a Milwaukee County official seeking reelection for a Milwaukee County office send their mailers from Washington County?

But the thing that made me do a spit take was the middle paragraph in the center.  It reads:

As you know, in Milwaukee County there is a political class that does not tolerate a different viewpoint like mine.  However, I have made the Sheriff's Office nonpartisan, and I have provided high-quality law enforcement for all.  This disturbs the courthouse "insiders." If they succeed in their all-out efforts to end the Sheriff's Office mission of protection, and return it to politics, you, the people, will lose your voice in public safety.

Really?! He made the Sheriff's Office nonpartisan?  Really?

Do I really need to mention how Clarke pulled Milwaukee County deputies to escort and guard then presidential candidate Mitt Romney, a Republican, for an event in Waukesha County?  Or how Clarke refused to provide even basic protection for President Barack Obama, a Democrat?  How is that not political?  I should also point out that Clarke has a pattern of speaking at the Koch Brothers-funded TEA Party events.

Needless to say, Clarke made the office as partisan as he possibly could.

Now, if the gentle reader would like to see what a nonpartisan sheriff would look like, we can see a glimpse of the future with Chris Moews, who is the only person who could pull of being pictured with the very progressive Marina Dimitrijevic and her bipolar opposite, the plutocratic Chris Abele:

Let us be rid of that doofus Clarke once and for all.  Vote for Chris Moews on August 12th!

That's Not Debatable

In the Milwaukee area, with two weeks to the primary election, there were two very important debates scheduled for Tuesday night.

One debate was for the candidates running for Milwaukee County Sheriff.  Somehow, the incompetent failed to show for the debate.  Apparently, he's not interested in keeping his job since he is so willing to insult the voters and/or so afraid of  his opponent, Chris Moews.

At least it gave Moews the chance to shine and show that he is easily the better choice.

The other debate was between the candidates for Assembly District 19, which include Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic, Jonathan Brostoff, Sara Geenen and Abele Party Candidate Dan Adams.

It has been reported to me that Dimitrijevic was very polished and presented herself very well.  Likewise,
Brostoff showed that he is no slouch and also did well for himself.  Geenen appeared to be very intelligent but timid.

That said, it was Dan Abele Adams that provided the comedic relief for the evening.  Not did he only prove himself to be a dyed-in-the-wool Abelebot, but spent a great deal of time trying to convince the audience he really is a Democrat.  Between that and trying to justify Act 14, which concentrated power in Milwaukee County in Chris Abele's inept hands, he had members of the audience laughing at him.

Here's a pro tip for Abele-Adams: If you're running for office in one of the most progressive districts in the state and you have to waste time trying to convince people that you're really a Democrat two weeks before the primary, you've got serious problems.

Beware Plutocrats Bearing Gifts

Last month, AFSCME District Council 48, which represents public sector workers inside Milwaukee County, sent out the following advisory letter to any politician running as a Democrat:

In politics, it can be hard to tell the difference between a true friend and a pretender.  A true
friend is always willing to listen and will consider your point of view -- even if you end up disagreeing now and then.  A pretender will nod along and then go out and actively undermine you.

We once thought we had a friend in Chris Abele.  We endorsed him in his first run for County Executive.  We didn’t expect that he would always agree with us or even agree with us most of the time.  But AFSCME members believed that he would at least be decent enough to listen to us.  We thought he would respect the real life experience that front line employees bring to the table.

Instead, we found that once he began consolidating power in his office, Abele had absolutely no interest in listening to front-line workers.  Worse, he has made a point of actively undermining our workplace rights and undercutting the already modest paychecks we bring home to our families.

• Abele opposed our efforts to work with the county to extend our contracts, as we have done in other communities where leaders truly respect and value collective bargaining. 
• He has twice attempted to strip away rights guaranteed to us by the county Status Quo ordinance, which preserves longstanding work rules and contractual rights not explicitly prohibited by Gov. Scott Walker’s union-busting Act 10. 
• He eagerly jumped on board a Republican initiative to neuter the County Board and concentrate even more power in his own office. 
• He vetoed a county Living Wage Ordinance and then, when his veto was overridden, he ran to Madison to push unsuccessfully for legislation pre-empting Living Wage Ordinances. 

Abele happily touts his close working relationship with a Governor who lusts for the destruction of public employee unions and whose policies blatantly favor those who, like Chris Abele, are already rich and powerful.

In short, though he has styled himself as a Democrat and spreads a token bit of his wealth around by writing checks to Democrats – his actions as County Executive are more closely aligned with the policies of his Tea Party predecessor in that office.

We write today because we want to make sure you are aware of this record.  We believe his record speaks louder than his words, and it should speak louder than his political checkbook.  If he can burn “friends” like us to fuel his own political ambitions, extreme caution is warranted by any who might find themselves getting drawn in by him and his blinding quest for unchecked power.

Indeed, the point that Chris Abele can't be trusted, regardless of who you are, is one that I have repeatedly made.

When Chris Abele was buying the first election for county executive, he was endorsed by at least two county supervisors, Marina Dimitrijevic and John Weishan.  During the campaign, he said that he looked forward to working with them and the board of supervisors.  But when Abele was told "no" on some budgetary items, he immediately set about to do his power grab and make himself emperor.

And to prove he knows how to hold a grudge, he is trying to buy any elections that a supervisor might be running in - supporting the likes of Dan Adams, Tia Torhorst and Joe Sanfelippo to do so - all the while claiming it's nothing personal.  Apparently, Abele found it to be more efficient to just buy elections than to try to frame people for crimes they didn't commit.

Abele has said that he is in support of Mary Burke in her gubernatorial campaign and has even given her some cash.  However, Abele has also been dragging his feet on releasing the documents and emails for the original John Doe investigation.  The release of those documents would be invaluable to the Burke campaign but Abele has instead willfully chosen to give cover to his friend and mentor, Scott Walker.

Likewise, Abele has stated that he supports Chris Moews' run for Milwaukee County Sheriff.  Again, he has thrown in some money endorsed Moews.  But with just six weeks to go before the primary, Abele decides to join the incumbent Sheriff David Clarke in their mutually favorite pastime, going after employees.  Which do you think will have more impact on this race - Abele giving Moews some chump change or Abele standing with Clarke saying how they are protecting taxpayers' money just weeks before the election?  (And don't get me going on the whole irony of Abele or Clarke saying that they are protecting taxpayers - that's another whole post in itself!)

As the gentle reader might have surmised, these are just a few of the examples that could be cited showing the duplicitous nature of Abele.

The thing that one can take away from these stories is that Abele does not stand with Labor, the Democrats or anyone else.

The only people that Abele stands with his himself and his fellow plutocrats.  And he doesn't really care who he has to buy or step on in order to advance their agenda for the 1%.

If Abele comes out in favor of any particular candidate, be careful, especially if he is carrying a load of money.  Because in that pile of cash, Abele is holding the knife with which he will stab you in the back.

Clarke Needs To Return Award

Last year, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke was named "Sheriff of the Year" by the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), an extreme right-wing collection of nut jobs.  Among some of the questionable things that have come from the CSPOA was their stands that the federal government was a bigger threat than terrorists and that they wanted to nullify any federal laws with which they didn't agree.

When confronted by Dan Bice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on their level of nuttiness, Clarke said he was proud of the award:

"I am extremely proud and humbled at the same time for this recognition by an association of my peers," Clarke said in a statement.

Then he added: "Have you ever been recognized by an association of writers as Journalist of the Year? If you ever are, and I read about it, I will congratulate you, not try to poop on your recognition."

The CSPOA are again in the news for taking their nuttiness to a new level, wanting to take Utah back from the homosexuals:

On Saturday, the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA) organized what it called an “uprising” in Utah to protest a federal court’s decision that struck down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.

U.S. District Judge Robert Shelby struck down the ban, then upheld his ruling three days later, leading Utah conservatives to take extreme measures to oppose it.

The CSPOA’s “uprising” consisted of a meeting in which a standing-room only crowd of same-sex marriage opponents watched PowerPoint presentations about the federal government overstepping its authority. Organizers and speakers claim that Governor Gary Herbert has failed the people of Utah, and that it is up to the sheriff’s to “take back” the state from “the homosexuals.”

Former Graham County, Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack said that “[t]he people of Utah have rights, too, not just the homosexuals. The homosexuals are shoving their agenda down our throats.”

Now that the CSPOA has crossed the line and is espousing blatant bigotry, it's time for Clarke to denounce the group and return the award that these crackpots gave him.  Unless, that is, he feels that he is somehow being honored by having his name tied to a group of homophobic goofs.  If Clarke doesn't return his award, we can only presume that he agrees with the homophobic stance of this group, making him unfit for office.

Now, I really don't expect Clarke to suddenly change course and do the right thing by returning the award and distancing himself from these reprobates.  After all, we are talking about a guy that is willing to bend the law enough to keep Fran McLaughlin, one of Scott Walker's former staffers who did politicking on county time, as his mouthpiece.

What I do expect is for people to get fed up with Clarke and his crazy antics and his bigoted friends and ousting him by voting for Chris Moews.  It's time for Milwaukee County to stand up for itself and get rid of this sideshow clown that we have for a sheriff now.

Irrefutable Evidence That Chris Moews Would Make A Better Sheriff Than David Clarke

Just about everyone in Milwaukee County knows that there is a three way power struggle going on in county government.

Milwaukee County Emperor Chris Abele hates the County Board, especially Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic.  Abele also hates Sheriff David Clarke.  His hatred has caused him to usurp power from the County Board and to try to cut the Sheriff's budget and staff to irresponsibly low levels.

At the same time, Clarke has shown his hatred towards the Board and towards Abele by issuing immature, reckless and offensive press releases.

Meanwhile, the County Board has been increasingly forced to be the adults in a room and keeping Abele and Clarke from ruining the county with their ego trips.  For this, Abele and Clarke have only stepped up their assaults and insults.

Obviously, the county would benefit greatly from a new county executive and a new sheriff.

The bad news is that - short of a recall - we are stuck with Abele until 2016.

The good news is that we can rid ourselves of Clarke in 2014.  The better news is we have a very viable and much more qualified candidate in Chris Moews.

Not only would Moews be a more effective law enforcement official, but he could also help the entire county government by being able to work with both Abele and the County Board.

Yes, I know Abele looks like he just swallowed a live toad, but the fact is Moews got him to pose in the same picture with Dimitrijevic.

You would never get Clarke to pose with either Dimitrijevic or Abele much less both of them at the same time.

A higher level of public safety and less drama in the courthouse are more than enough reason why we need to support Chris Moews for Milwaukee County Sheriff!

The Abele/Clarke Feud - The Public Safety Edition

It is no secret that there has been an ongoing feud between Milwaukee County Emperor Chris Abele and the Sheriff of Nutty Ham David Clarke.  It could stem that they are very similar to each other. Both are tyrannical bullies that excessively reward their yes men and punish anyone who dares to stand up to them.  Maybe they're fussing at each other simply because they are fighting over the attention of their mutual BFF, Scott Walker.

Whatever the cause, their childish antics have continued this week in a social media fire fight.

It started when Clarke took to Twitter and posted this tweet and picture:

The funny thing about this picture is that there is one horse head but two horses' asses.

Clarke really doesn't have much to say about public safety though.  He would rather squander his severely slashed budget on horses like the one pictured than on something like highway patrols.  Furthermore, Clarke isn't very good at doing patrols himself, since he wouldn't know a drunk driver when he's helping one out of a snowbank.

And let's not forget when Clarke admitted the sheriffing is hard work:

Abele responded to this attack on Facebook when he turned it into a plug for Chris Moews, a candidate for Milwaukee County Sheriff:

Yesterday, Sheriff David Clarke posed an interesting question on his Twitter account: “Who would you trust with public safety decisions in Milwaukee County?” While it’s nice to hear from the Sheriff in a medium other than a press release, I think this is an important question. My response is simple: Public safety decisions for our county are not a game. We deserve those decisions to be made with discipline, by leaders who care more about outcomes over politics and personalities – leaders like Lieutenant Chris Moews for Milwaukee County Sheriff

This is again the flip side of the same coin.

Abele has no business speaking about public safety when he is just as bad, if not worse than, Clarke in that area.

Abele, for the second year running, is trying to foist park patrols on the City of Milwaukee's already overburdened police department, not to mention sticking the citizens of the city with the bill for his abdication of duty.

Abele is also evicting the patients at the mental health complex, even though there are not sufficient supports for them in the community.  We've already seen that this immoral, reckless stunt is actually endangering people.

Another alarming sign of how clueless Abele is when it comes to public safety is that his 2014 proposed budget has Emergency Preparedness being transferred from the Sheriff's Office to his office.  When the Finance and Personnel Committee asked about this part of Abele's budget, Abele's staff admitted that they didn't really have a plan on how to transfer these extremely important responsibilities, much less what it would look like or how much it would cost.

About the only thing Abele got right in the area of public safety is that Moews would be a far better sheriff than Clarke.

Although, if I were Moews, that is one endorsement I wouldn't be bragging about.

After watching the clownish antics of Sheriff David Clarke in Milwaukee, I am very glad to be in Dane County where we have a Sheriff who cares about the rule of law and actually doing his job! 

Sheriff Clarke in Milwaukee is at it again. 

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. recently announced that he had been named the "sheriff of the year" for 2013 by the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.

Clarke put out a press release saying he was "both honored and humbled" by the award, which will be given out at a convention later this month.

What the sheriff doesn't disclose, however, is anything about the little-known group behind the award.
Perhaps with good reason.

Founded in 2011, the sheriffs association is the brainchild of Richard Mack, a former Arizona lawman who says he wants to organize sheriffs who understand their primary duty is to protect local citizens from the tyranny of the federal government.

His association, he says, will be "the army to set our nation free" -- albeit a non-violent army, he adds.
"The greatest threat we face today is not terrorists; it is our own federal government," Mack says on his personal website. "If America is conquered or ruined it will be from within, not a foreign enemy."
In a 15-minute chat this week, Mack -- or "Sheriff Mack," as he prefers to be called -- reaffirmed these sentiments and went even further. He voiced his support for states to nullify federal laws they deem unconstitutional. He also called the U.S. government "universally corrupt."
In other words, Mack's group is not your typical trade association.

The Southern Poverty Law Center-- an Alabama-based nonprofit that tracks hate groups -- has accused Mack of espousing "radical-right" views and trying to create a "nation of county sheriffs who believe the government is the enemy." Mack's group got some media attention when it compiled a list for more than 400 sheriffs who vowed not to enforce President Barack Obama's gun control measures.

 How cute, a sheriff happily accepting an award from a hate group.  Sheriff Clarke must be so proud.  That would look  very well next to a John Birch "Man of the Year" award and the Joseph McCarthy Advancing Democracy Award!

Milwaukee, it is time to end the circus and elect someone who actually wants to be the Sheriff of Milwaukee!

Congratulations, Governor Barrett And Other Election News

The results of the races are still coming in at the time I write this, but several of the races, especially the bigger ones, have already been called.

For the race for governor, Tom Barrett was the first declared winner. In all likelihood, the Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor will be Tom Nelson. (Any guesses on how long it is before some wag on the right side will say "We'll beat the Tom-Toms like a drum" or some such nonsense?)

On the Republican side, they nominated Scott Walker and Rebecca Kleefisch for their ticket. Oh, this will be delicious.

On one hand, you have two moderate Democrats. Barrett has a balanced budget and the 2011 budget looks like it will be mostly harmless to his campaign. He also has a solid record on bringing jobs to the area and the ability to make tough decisions. The city is in pretty good shape and he is a genuinely likable person who actually listens to the people. Barrett also has a pretty decently sized war chest amassed.

I can't say I know much about Nelson, except that he is from the Fox Valley area and has held office for six years, working his way up to Majority Leader last year. For a Democrat to win so many elections in GOP country shows that there is a vulnerability for the Walker/Kleefisch ticket in their own heartland.

On the Republican side, you have Walker with enough baggage to fill every car on the high speed rail that is coming. There is the O'Donnell Park tragedy, the other county buildings crumbling, the horrors at the mental health complex, borrowing $400 million and still not fixing the pension problems, the gaping hole in this year's budget, a gaping hole in next year's budget, diminished transit services costing tens of thousands of jobs, losing control of the income maintenance program, losing control of the Private Industry Council (because he doesn't know how to create jobs), and that's just the stuff out there now. There are also investigations going on with at least two of his staffers and other stuff that he is trying to squelch until after the election, when it will be too late for the state.

On top of all that, Walker had to go through a boatload of cash to win the primary by a much narrower margin than he was hoping. And let's not forget his campaign staff, who is almost as damaging to his campaign as his track record.

To further bog Walker down, he gets saddled with Rebecca Kleefisch, Wisconsin's own Sarah Palin wannabe, as his Lt. Governor. She's the one that lives in a house worth a third of a million dollars, is married to a state legislator, and is claiming to be just like us. She also has said that she would go by her religious teaching as opposed to things like the Constitution or the law.

Like I said, this will be delicious. And you know I will be writing more on this race in the next six weeks.

Also, congratulations goes out to Senator Feingold for his re-election, since the Republicans have chosen to go with Ron "Sunspot" Johnson. I firmly believe the only reason he won is because his opponent, Dave Westlake, couldn't match RoJo's $15 milllion, and thus was drowned out by all the ads and other nonsense.

In other news, Chris Larson and his amazing staff has put an end to Plale's ineffectiveness in Madison. Although it will be a great blow for Milwaukee County, perhaps we can find another person who can step up to keep Walker from trashing it in his vainglorious pursuit of the governor's chair. I just wonder who it could be. Jason?

Also winning their primaries was Elizabeth Coggs and JoCasta Zamarripa. Congratulations to both of them.

On the down side, Chris Moews failed to oust David Clarke. Clarke had the edge with a much war chest 30 times the size of Moews' and the name recognition. It looks like I'll be voting for Steven Duckhorn. If I have to vote for a Republican, I'll vote for the honest one. I just hope he has his site fixed.

The other bad news is that Scot Dettman didn't oust the job-killing Peggy Krusick. Aw, well. I might just be skipping that one in November, or doing a write in.

David Clarke Admits To Poor Leadership

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has an article highlighting the Democratic primary race for Milwaukee County Sheriff. In said article, they point out that both the D.I.N.O.S.A.U.R. incumbent David Clarke and his challenger, Chris Moews, are running on Clarke's record. If that's true, Clarke just gave the race away.

We already know that Clarke is a poor excuse for a law man, when he not only tried to aid a drunk driver get back on the road, but then tried to cover up his error by smearing a good deputy who happened to be the one to prevent further tragedy.

Then there was the failed GRIP program which diverted officers and funding from the normal duties so that Clarke could bathe himself in glory by taking all of the guns off of the mean streets of Milwaukee, which is normally the jurisdiction of the Milwaukee Police Department. But despite all of the money and manpower spent on this project, it netted only six or so guns.

Clarke also violated his deputies' Constitutional rights by having religious groups preaching to them during roll calls.

Then there was the problem with Clarke's office not collecting DNA samples like he was supposed to and then lying about the problem. Even more telling was the reason why they failed:

Again, sources in the department who are familiar with the situation gave a very different story. They said they are certain that inmates and others were released without giving DNA samples. In addition, the sources said, there are many more individuals at the County Jail who may have been missed.

"This wasn't done intentionally," said one source, who suggested the problem was due to lack of staff and supervisors. "It fell through the cracks."

Not usually the self-effacing type, Clarke acknowledged that his department had slipped up. He said he didn't have the manpower to assign someone to DNA duty full time.

Now from today's article, we see Clarke shooting himself in the foot by admitting his poor leadership:

"You can lead by fear all you want and people are going to follow you - to a point," said the 38-year-old Moews, accusing Clarke of an autocratic style. "But if you are an effective leader that gains the respect of your peers and workers, they are going to work that much harder for you."

His rapport with deputies and other local law enforcement officials would bolster his effectiveness, Moews said.

Clarke, 54, said Moews was just plain wrong.

He believes in strong leadership and admits to rubbing some deputies the wrong way over his efforts to overcome years of complacency, Clarke said.

Keep in mind that Clarke has been the sheriff since 2002. Either the complacency developed while he was sheriff or he has failed to straighten the ship in eight years. Either way, it is an admission of failure.

To further enforce the suspicion that Clarke's leadership style is more about egomaniacal control than anything else, I recently learned that Clarke has suspended an officer for twenty days without pay. The officer's penalty to receive such a harsh sentence? Taking off for his father's funeral and putting the time off in the wrong slot on Ceridian. That's something that could have been fixed in less than minutes. To give a grieving officer who just lost his father that much time for a silly mistake is beyond excessive.

All of this only serves to show why Chris Moews is having a groundswell of support from all corners of the county. We are in need of responsible leadership, not grandstanding narcissists.

"Running As A Democrat"

Remember back a couple of years ago, when Scott Walker was running for County Executive for the third time, even though he only promised to run for it twice? Sheriff David Clarke did some ads endorsing Walker and kept referring himself as having "ran as a Democrat." This is because he really is nothing more than a DINOSAUR (Democrat In Name Only, Secretly An Undercover Republican).

The cats is out of the cellophane bag now as he had a meet and greet with the Conservative Young Professionals* last night:



Notice that while at the fund raiser, he doesn't want to talk about crime, but things he has no jurisdiction over. But that kind of fits in, doesn't it? Phony Democrat, phony sheriff, phony politician.

*It always strikes me as sad that these young people already have had their idealism stolen from them.

If you want to vote for the Democratic candidate for Sheriff, look at Chris Moews, who is a Democrat and has experience upholding the law, which already puts him many steps ahead of Clarke.

Duckhorn Blunders On First Day of Campaign For Sheriff

Steven Duckhorn is the sole Republican candidate running for Milwaukee County Sheriff.

Or perhaps I should say, the sole Republican candidate stumbling out of the gate for Milwaukee County Sheriff.

He has launched his website for his candidacy, and there is already a couple of problems with it.

My, how the race has quickly narrowed down to one candidate that is worthy: Chris Moews.
