How The Right Want To Raise State Taxes

Plastered all over the news, and all over this blogsite, has been the story of how the State is going to take over the Income Maintenance program in Milwaukee County.

Dad29, who lives in Waukesha County, and Owen Robinson, who lives in Washington County, both express their displeasure with the state's plan. One of their major grievances is that the plan would continue to have the front line workers remain employees of Milwaukee County. They both feel that the workers should be State employees.

In other words, they feel that the entire State of Wisconsin should pay for Milwaukee County's programming. The State did that once, with child welfare. It raised taxes by some $40 million dollars per year. Who knows how much more it would cost the State to run this program for the County as well?

I wonder how much the rest of the State would like that idea?

  1. Everybody in the State already DOES pay more than 50% of the costs--County, City, and Schools--for the sewer-drain in the SE corner.

    What's another $40Million?
