Mental Health Advice

A lot, and I do mean a lot, of conservatives continue with this obsession of John Galt, Ayn Rand and her book, Atlas Shrugged. These references always appear either just before, or during, one of their "foaming at the mouth" incidents, where they get themselves all worked up to the point of being in such a tizzy that you can't even talk sense to them anymore.

I think that they would all be much better off reading Robert Heinlein's For Us, The Living. Much more positive and better for one's mental health.

  1. Heinlein is interesting. both conservatives and liberals claim him as one of their own.

  2. People that aren't in either of your stupid little clubs do too. Like, I'd say For Us, The Living isn't "liberal" or "conservative."

I always liked The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

  3. I wasn't so much concerned about Heinlein's politics as much as the economic system that he describes in the book. It would make most conservatives heads explode to see something where everyone can lead comfortable lives without class wars.
