Erpenbach/Maddow
By Jeff Simpson
From 11/11/13 - H/T Democurmudgeon
A couple observations.
* I did not know that Scott Walker started his career as a carpetbagger.
* Educated professional people have been calling him a "kook" his whole career.
* Scott Walker has always favored BIG government and always will.
* We should be wary of anyone who has this much blind ambition.
* Isn't it ironic that the standard bearer the last three years for "tea party" politicians is "jam through legislation with no public hearing".

Government Shutdown
BY Jeff Simpson
Rachel Maddow breaks down the Government Shutdown in detail
Some takeways;
1. There has been NO significant legislation passed since Boehner/Cantor/Ryan have taken over the house!
2.
Maddow also mocked Rep. John Culberson (R-TX), who invoked the 9/11 rallying cry, “Let’s roll,” during a gleeful meeting with party mates about pushing for a delay on the Affordable Care Act.
“Let’s roll – let’s bring the U.S. government to its knees,” Maddow said sarcastically. “Just like on 9/11. Except the other way.”

Reince's Resume
Two years ago, in the 2010 national elections, the republican party won EVERYTHING. They took over the House of Representatives, and numerous state houses and could legitimately be argued it was the greatest year for republican's electorally ever. Republican National Committee chair, Michael Steele, who oversaw that election, was rewarded for the victory by being stabbed in the back by his friend Reince Priebus. Priebus instigated a Coup and kicked Steele out and took over the party himself!
It has been two years and now its time for Reince Priebus's review. We can look back at of his accomplishments and see how they translated electorally. In charge of his review is Rachel Maddow, let's let her run down Reince's resume:
This really is what cognitive dissonance looks like. Rachel Maddow puts it all together in 3 minutes. Nails it. This is that moment when you realize just how much stuff conservatives have come to believe that has no attachment to reality whatsoever. From the video:

“Ohio did go to Obama last night. And he really did win. And he really was born in Hawaii, and he really is legitimately President of the United States, again, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics did not make up a fake unemployment rate last month, and the Congressional Research Service really can find no evidence that cutting taxes on rich people grows the economy, and the polls were not screwed to oversample Democrats, and Nate Silver was not making up fake projections about the election to make conservatives feel bad, Nate Silver was doing math, and climate change is real, and rape really does cause pregnancy sometimes, and evolution is a thing, and Benghazi was an attack on us, it was not a scandal by us, and nobody is taking away anyone’s guns, and taxes have not gone up, and the deficit is dropping, actually, and Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction, and the moon landing was real, and FEMA is not building concentration camps, and you UN election observers are not taking over Texas, and moderate reforms of the regulations on the insurance industry and the financial services industry in this country are not the same thing as communism.”

Paul Ryan & Scott Walker Disgust Me!
When the Janesville GM Plant closed it ended an era that went back to the original opening of the plant in 1919! It's official closing date was December 23, 2008 - Merry Christmas Janesville!
President Obama while elected in a landslide November 2008, was Inaugerated January 21st, 2009.
Paul Ryan (R-Wall St.) even knows the hard times that the closing heaped on the city and surrounding area's because he supposedly has many "friends" affected.
All of the pain and suffering that that plant closed and now Paul Ryan is lying about it and using it as a way to gain political capital. That shows the complete disdain he has for the middle class, and the people of the 1st congressional district.
To make matters worse, his good friend and political sell out Scott Walker, couldn't wait to throw the people of Janesville under the bus also and help his good friend Pink Slip Paul out. However he made a major mistake when we stepped to the mic with Rachel Maddow who is far and away his intellectual superior:
Sorry Scooter your not on Fox & Friends anymore!
The complete lack of morals and character that allows them to lie about something so important to the people of Wisconsin shows that they are even worse people and have worse character than I ever imagined! They disgust me!

A lot of guys I went to high school with worked at that GM plant. Right there at that plant, candidate Obama said: “I believe that if our government is there to support you … this plant will be here for another hundred years.” That’s what he said in 2008. Well, as it turned out, that plant didn’t last another year. It is locked up and empty to this day. And that’s how it is in so many towns today, where the recovery that was promised is nowhere in sight.Yes do the math and read the quote and you realize what an incredible POS Paul Ryan really is! The closing of that plant severely effected many families. The Pure devastation to some families is documented in the film As Goes Janesville!

Voter Fraud Is A Problem!
When Republicans vote!
There has been a nationwide(Koch Brothers Sponsored)push to enact restrictive voter ID laws throughout the Country. Luckily our restrictive voter ID laws, have been stopped by the courts. Despite J B Van Hollen's insistence on disenfranchising Wisconsin voters.
Now, after an exhaustive study, we find out that the republicans perpetual claims of massive voter fraud is pure unadulterated bullshit!
10 cases of in-person voter fraud in more than 600 million votes cast!!! Let that sink in. But wait there is more!
Right here in Wisconsin, we know that powerful republican Robin Vos's third ex-wife, was recently caught voting in WI(during the recall election, when she was still married toVos), despite the fact she is currently a resident of Idaho.
Secondly we have the video of Joel Kleefisch running down the line and voting for whoever is not around.
Then of course we have Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan buying votes at Cousins subs.
Let's also not forget the red state of Indiana, where Indiana Republican Secretary of State Charlie White was convicted on SIX counts of voter fraud!
Finally, Mitt is no stranger to voter fraud, himself. Since he committed it himself when he voted in some Massachusett's election.
Of course while the republicans continue to pretend they are just worried about everyone's vote being counted we know that is flat out not true!
How do we know it isn't true?
They keep telling us! From the OHIO GOP Election official Doug Preisse:
It appears the best way to save the integrity of our elections are to keep republicans away from the polls!

voter fraud in general is rare. And that particular form of voter fraud is "virtually non-existent," according to the extensive public-records search conducted by News21, a nonpartisan investigative news project funded by the Carnegie and Knight foundations. Researchers filed more than 2,000 public-records requests and reviewed nearly 5,000 court documents, official records and media reports to get their information.
They identified 2,068 alleged cases of voter fraud since the year 2000, a period during which there have been more than 600 million votes cast in presidential elections alone. That, the study noted, is an "infinitesimal amount." It also showed a total of 10 cases of in-person voter fraud during that period.
10 cases of in-person voter fraud in more than 600 million votes cast!!! Let that sink in. But wait there is more!
Their final result?
The News21 analysis of its election fraud database shows:
“The fraud that matters is the fraud that is organized. That’s why voter impersonation is practically non-existent because it is difficult to do and it is difficult to pull people into conspiracies to do it,” said Lorraine Minnite, professor of public policy and administration at Rutgers University.
- In-person voter-impersonation fraud is rare. The database shows 207 cases of other types of fraud for every case of voter impersonation.
“The one issue I think is potentially important, though more or less ignored, is the overuse of absentee balloting, which provides far more opportunity for fraud and intimidation than on-site voter fraud,” said Daniel Lowenstein, a UCLA School of Law professor.
- There is more fraud in absentee ballots and voter registration than any other categories. The analysis shows 491 cases of absentee ballot fraud and 400 cases of registration fraud. A required photo ID at the polls would not have prevented these cases.
Minnite says prosecutions are rare. “You have to be able to show that people knew what they were doing and they knew it was wrong and they did it anyway,” she said. “It may be in the end they (prosecutors) can’t really show that the people who have cast technically illegal ballots did it on purpose.”
- Of reported election-fraud allegations in the database whose resolution could be determined, 46 percent resulted in acquittals, dropped charges or decisions not to bring charges.
- Felons or noncitizens sometimes register to vote or cast votes because they are confused about their eligibility. The database shows 74 cases of felons voting and 56 cases of noncitizens voting.
- Voters make a lot of mistakes, from accidentally voting twice to voting in the wrong precinct.
- Election officials make a lot of mistakes, from clerical errors — giving voters ballots when they’ve already voted — to election workers confused about voters’ eligibility requirements.
Voter fraud at the polls is an insignificant aspect of American elections,” said elections expert David Schultz, professor of public policy at Hamline University School of Business in St. Paul, Minn. The problem with Professor Schultz, is he has not extensively studied the republican party!
“There is absolutely no evidence that (voter impersonation fraud) has affected the outcome of any election in the United States, at least any recent election in the United States,” Schultz said.
White, a Republican, was accused of lying about his home address on voter registration forms in order to continue receiving a stipend for serving on his town's council. To comply with state law requiring the removal of convicted felons from office, Gov. Mitch Daniels, a fellow Republican, appointed White's deputy as an interim replacement.
The irony is that White has been an outspoken defender of controversial voter identification laws, which are purportedly aimed at stamping out the kind of fraud he was found guilty of committing.
I guess I really actually feel we shouldn’t contort the voting process to accommodate the urban — read African-American — voter-turnout machine. Let’s be fair and reasonable.
To Wisconsin's own, and one of the founders of the "tea party" movement Paul Weyrich!!!
It appears the best way to save the integrity of our elections are to keep republicans away from the polls!

Is Paul Ryan Legitimate???
Time to look at the Akin/Ryan/Romney/Abortion ties/fiasco in-depth.
Todd Akin started the mess by saying that a woman’s body has a defense mechanism that keeps her from getting pregnant if she was the victim of “legitimate rape”, this only drew outrage because most people have not heard anything else he has said.
After Akin said his disgusting comments, the right wing went into full defense mode.
The problem they ran into, was that the rest of the country had some free time on Sunday afternoon and paid attention to his disgusting statements and were outraged. This led to the right wing quickly changing course and condemning Akin. For the first time in his life, Wisconsin's Junior Senator Ron Johnson took a leadership role. He was one of the first to call for Akin's resignation.
The problem with the outrage was that people started looking at Todd Akin, and when they did they found he was connected to our very own and Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan ( R- Wall St.)
WKOW 27: Madison, WI Breaking News, Weather and Sports
See the problem is, that paul ryan co sponsored a bill with Todd Akin where they "redefined rape" as having to be "Forcible Rape" as the only kind of rape that gets covered under government assistance.
While some people think this was in no way a gaffe, while others felt the need to also weigh in.
Amongst the outrage column, Eve Ensler weighed in, and so did Shauna White, who became pregnant after being raped.
On the whats so bad side, Iowa Representative Steve King, said that maybe you can get pregnant but he has never heard of such a thing and Mike Huckabee, pointed out that "forcible rape has created admiral human beings."
Amongst all of this scrutiny and outrage, then it turns out that while the RMoney/rAYN ticket was "outraged" they actually put Akin's ideas right into their platform!
While the republican party put that exact language in their platform, no one told Reince! More in depth from Rachel Maddow here:
Finally, How long until Senator Johnson and Paul Ryan call for the resignations of Rebecca Kleefisch??

"Todd Akin's statements are reprehensible and inexcusable," said Johnson, who endorsed Akin rival John Brunner in the three-way primary. "Gaining a Republican majority in the US Senate and fixing the huge challenges that face our nation is more important than any one individual's political ambitions. Todd Akin should do the right thing for the nation and step aside today, so Missouri Republicans can put forth a candidate that can win in November."Senator RoJo was not upset by what Akin said, he was upset that other people were upset. Akin was not hurting women by what he said, Akin was hurting the republican party, and that can not be.
The problem with the outrage was that people started looking at Todd Akin, and when they did they found he was connected to our very own and Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan ( R- Wall St.)

– Redefinition Of Rape: The bill sponsor Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) faced serious backlash after he tried to narrow the definition rape to “forcible rape.” By narrowing the rape and incest exception in the Hyde Amendment, Smith sought to prevent the following situations from consideration: Women who say no but do not physically fight off the perpetrator, women who are drugged or verbally threatened and raped, and minors impregnated by adults.
While some people think this was in no way a gaffe, while others felt the need to also weigh in.

"I think that the comments made by Todd Akin are abhorrent, they are insulting, they are disgusting, reprehensible, unacceptable," said Lt. Gov. Kleefisch.
Protesters like Dunn say that because of House Resolution 5939, a 2010 piece of legislation designed to ban all taxpayer funded abortions, except in cases of what the authors defined as "forcible rape."
The resolution failed and that language was changed to "rape" in 2011, when the bill was re-introduced as HR 3.
But Lt. Gov. Kleefisch differentiated the language in HR 5939 from the language Akin used in his comments.
"Well, I think there is a way to have a more forcible rape, the same way there are different types of assault," said Lt. Gov. Kleefisch.

War on Women
Is there a republican war on women? Lets take a look, Roll Video:
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
Rachel Maddow does her research and really breaks it down and she is not done:“Democrats did not make this stuff up,” Maddow said. “This is not a liberal plot to make it sound like Republican’s are prioritizing attacking women’s access to health care and abortion. They really are. I could do a segment like this pretty much every other day.”But wait there is more: And if that is not enough we go to Mississippi, where the extreme right has taken over & it is not pretty. This is what happens when these crazies take over. No thank you!
One clarification, they stopped access to abortions NOT stopped abortions. The war on women is real, it is also happening in Wisconsin. Vote on June 5th!
