A Republican lawmaker in Texas who proposed a bill that would criminalize abortion said the policy would force women to be “more personally responsible” for their sexual behavior. “Right now, it’s real easy,” State Rep. Tony Tinderholt (R) told the Texas Observer. “Right now, they don’t make it important to be personally responsible because they know that they have a backup of ‘oh, I can just go get an abortion.’ Now, we both know that consenting adults don’t always think smartly sometimes. But consenting adults need to also consider the repercussions of the sexual relationship that they’re gonna have, which is a child.” Tinderholt’s bill, the Abolition of Abortion in Texas Act, would ban abortion at every stage of pregnancy and amend the state’s penal code to allow women and providers to be charged with murder for the procedure. The bill has no exceptions for rape or incest, because Tinderhold said he doesn’t think “there should be any exceptions to murder, no matter what.”
Yes this is Texas, but we all know that there are organizations that drive GOP controlled State Legislatures and when one state gets going on a bill like this, there are others that try and out crazy their peers (see Bill, Bathroom). How long until Jesse Kremer tries to one up him?
Elections have consequences! When people put Republicans in charge because Democrats "need a safe space" or numerous other ridiculous reasons, then we must be prepared to live under the rule of the people we put in office.
My best suggestion at this point, is try and move close to a prison so you can visit the people you know who have had an abortion or might need one in the future.
I also look forward to our society in a few years when children of incest, who were not allowed to be aborted, start growing into adulthood!
Police say a Houston-area woman fatally shot her two adult daughters before officers shot and killed her.
The incident happened about 5 p.m. Friday in front of a home on the fringe of the Houston suburb of Fulshear. Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls says a motive was still under investigation, but it appeared the shooting was the climax to a family argument.
Nehls says the daughters had already been shot when a Fulshear police officer arrived and saw the mother with a gun in her hand, apparently preparing to shoot one of her daughters again. The officer shot and killed the woman.
Officials identified the mother as Christy Sheats, 42, and her daughters as Taylor Sheats, 22, and Madison Sheats, 17, CBS affiliate KHOU reported.
What makes this different, than your average daily shooting? The answer is not much but there is a disturbing trend of crazy shooters.
As Christy let it be known, the damm liberals are out to take her guns and keep her from "protecting" her family.

And she had posted multiple times on social media about her support of firearms. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office had been to Christy Sheats' home "for previous altercations" involving Sheats' "mental crisis," sheriff's spokeswoman Caitilin Espinosa tells PEOPLE.
Since the NRA likes to take advantage of such tragedies to sell more guns, I am curious which kind they are going to be selling now? the gun that Ms Sheats used to murder her daughters, or the one the police officer used to make her stop shooting her dead daughters?
At least when Ms. Sheats says "Out of my cold dead hands" she means it!

A Texas judge is in a local hospital after being shot overnight outside her Austin home, according to police.
Travis County District Judge Julie Kocurek has been involved in many cases, including high-profile political cases involving former Texas Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. House Majority Leader Tom Delay.
In addition, Kocurek has also been active in the local community, including serving as a local co-chair in the National Campaign to Stop Violence, a past board member of the Mothers’ Milk Bank at Austin and a supporter of the West Austin Youth Association, according to CNN.
However, the police have not determined what the motivation was for the shooting.
Kocurek, who has been the presiding judge of the 290th District Court since 1999, was struck around 10:15 p.m. (11:15 p.m. ET) Friday near her house in the Texas capital’s Tarrytown neighborhood, said Austin police Lt. Lee Rogers.
The judge was last listed in stable condition at a nearby hospital.
Geez, here in Wisconsin, the Republicans only legalize corruption and buy the judges. Although, to be honest, they probably undid the gun laws we had in case the first plans didn't work.

Greg Abbott announced he was ordering the Texas National Guard to monitor a Navy SEAL/Green Beret joint training exercise, which was taking place in Texas and several other states, everybody here looked up from their iPhones. What? It seems there is concern among some folks that this so-called training maneuver is just a cover story. What's really going on? President Obama is about to use Special Forces to put Texas under martial law.
It can not be true right? No politician that is that stupid(and stupid is THE only word for it) could ever be elected in the United States right?
The lunacy surrounding “Jade Helm 15,” a military training exercise set to take place in Texas (or so they say!) has officially hit a new low: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a man who thinks he should be president of the United States, is assuring his constituents that his office will be demanding answers from the Pentagon about whether or not they are secretly invading Texas under orders from President Obama.

The parents of a teenage drunk driver who walked away with probation
after killing four people will pay a little more than 5% of his monthly
treatment costs at a state hospital, a judge decided.
During a hearing on Friday, Judge Jean Boyd ordered Fred and Tonya
Couch to pay $1,170 every month for their son Ethan’s treatment at the
North Texas State hospital. The in-patient center actually costs $715
per day, which means Ethan’s parents will only pay for two days of
treatment every month.
Taxpayers will shell out the rest.

Gov. Scott Walker is headed to Texas this week for a fundraiser at the mansion of billionaire Harlan Crow, a strong supporter of conservative causes. Politico is reporting that Walker's re-election fundraiser is scheduled for Tuesday at the real estate tycoon's Dallas residence.
Walker announced last week that he had raised more than $5 million in the second half of last year, nearly triple the amount collected by his likely Democratic foe, Mary Burke, in the same period.

A Texas judge agreed with defense attorneys’ claims that a
16-year-old who killed four people while driving drunk had been given
whatever he wanted by his wealthy parents and had never learned to accept responsibility for his actions.
So she sentenced him to 10 years on probation,
setting aside prosecutors’ request for a 20-year prison term after the
teen pleaded guilty last week to four counts of intoxication
manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault causing serious
bodily injury.
Court records show Ethan Couch had a blood-alcohol content of 0.24,
more than three times the legal limit for an adult, when he slammed into
four people who’d stopped to assist a stranded motorist June 15
alongside a narrow Tarrant County road.
All
four pedestrians were killed, including a mother and daughter, and two
of Couch’s friends were thrown from his pickup and severely injured.
Forbeck sentenced Carlson to eight years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.

A Janesville woman is heading to prison for killing someone while driving drunk.
Tara Carlson, 40, will spend the next eight years locked up and ten years after under supervision.
Back in August of 2012 she was driving on highway eleven
outside of Janesville when she crashed into a car killing James Menard,
64, of Chicago.
There are many more stories like this than the former. It is amazing what money buys you in America these days.

"I am pro-life,” Wendy Davis said during a campaign stop at the University of Texas at Brownsville, according to the Valley Morning Star.
“I care about the life of every child: every child that goes to bed
hungry, every child that goes to bed without a proper education, every
child that goes to bed without being able to be a part of the Texas
dream, every woman and man who worry about their children’s future and
their ability to provide for that future," Davis said. "I care about
life and I have a record of fighting for people above all else.”
As we have seen in Wisconsin, the republicans want to hear from you, as long as you tell them what they want to hear. The same crazy tricks the republicans are playing in Wisconsin, they are playing elsewhere also! Representative Michael Burgess (R-TX) on Monday asserted that he
witnessed male fetuses pleasuring themselves as early as 15-weeks after
conception, RH Reality Check reported.
His comments came during a House Rules committee debate on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would ban abortions nationwide after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
“This is a subject that I do know something about,” Burgess said,
citing his experience as an OB/GYN. “There is no question in my mind
that a baby at 20-weeks after conception can feel pain. The fact of the
matter is, I argue with the chairman because I thought the date was far
too late. We should be setting this at 15-weeks, 16-weeks.”
“Watch
a sonogram of a 15-week baby, and they have movements that are
purposeful,” he continued. “They stroke their face. If they’re a male
baby, they may have their hand between their legs. If they feel
pleasure, why is it so hard to think that they could feel pain?”
Burgess said the Supreme Court would be forced to reconsider its landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade
ruling due to legal fights over anti-abortion legislation like the
Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. He suggested the justices
would be far less permissive of abortion thanks to modern sonogram
technology.
Leaving us to answer the question - What is worse? A. That this guy could pass Med School? B. That this guy actually believes the stuff he is spewing? C. That people actually look at a guy like this and think "he represents me" and votes for him?

Wisconsin Right to Life, which scored major victories last session thanks to Walker and the Republican-dominated Legislature, plans to push a series of anti-abortion rights measures that are almost certain to draw opposition from many Democrats.
Among their priorities are requiring doctors to conduct ultrasounds on women seeking abortions and make them available for patients to see; banning all abortions after 20 weeks' gestation, as six states do; banning abortion coverage in public workers' health insurance plans; and prohibiting gender-selection as a basis for abortion, said Susan Armacost, legislative political-action committee director for Wisconsin Right to Life.
If learning that her son was sick was the single worst moment in Jones’ life, what followed just magnified the horror. Texas is one of seven states — along with Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana and Mississippi — that requires ultrasound prior to abortion. In July, Virginia will become the eighth.
When she arrived at Planned Parenthood, the doctor who was to perform the abortion first performed an ultrasound, as ordered by law — despite the fact that it was Jones’ third ultrasound of the day. He also had to describe in detail her baby’s anatomy. “It felt barbaric to have to listen to a description of a baby I had so badly wanted,” says Jones, who is 35. “I could barely breathe.”
Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath, pledging to do no harm. Yet it’s tough to argue that forcing Jones to look at and listen to the description of a baby she would never rock or cuddle didn’t cause her psychological harm. The doctor must have known this; he apologized to Jones and tried to minimize her distress. “I am so sorry,” she says he told her, “but if I don’t do this, I could lose my license.” He did his best to make the ordeal easier. Nothing says smaller limited government more than Robin Vos passing a bill forcing transvaginal ultrasounds upon women who make the very personal and private decision to terminate a pregnancy.
1. “I think it’s a mistake to allow mining companies to write their own mining law. I think it’s a mistake to allow mining companies to bend the rules. I believe in job creation too, but not at the expense of our resources,” Compas said.
Fitzgerald responded that the legislature needs to rely on industry expertise to help prepare legislation and said he was hopeful a compromise could be reached on a mining bill prior to the November election.
Here is a man who is interviewing for a job, in front of the people he wants to hire him, explaining that in one of the biggest issues in Wisconsin, and one that he is basing his campaign on, he has no expertise. Would you hire someone who admitted to no expertise in the job you hired him for?

Fitzgerald talked up the creation of the Wisconsin Development Corporation as well as tax credits and deductions tied directly to job creation, small business tax credits and tax credits for business relocations. He suggested Wisconsin should model its economic development efforts after North Carolina and Texas.
“Get government out of the way with less regulation and less red tape,” Fitzgerald said.
Again, the man who is interviewing for a job to represent WISCONSIN voters, wants to make WI more like North Carolina and Texas. I think he needs to clarify what about North Carolina he is wants to replicate? This or this? Is this the Texas that Scott Fitzgerald aspires to?

15. It's tied (with Missouri) for 19th in terms of the share of its citizens requiring food-stamps (2009).
16. It leads the nation in the amount of recognized carcinogens released into the air (2002).
17. Has the fourth highest amount of toxic chemicals in the environment (2002).
18. Texas’ per capita income growth was the eighth slowest of any state in the country between 1998 and 2008.
