Blue Wave Causes Scott Walker To Go Into Panic Tweet Mode

Tuesday's Blue Wave crossing Wisconsin has left Scott Walker really rattled and rightfully so. Not only is he facing being homeless with a crushing personal debt in November, it will put a stop to his plans of being POTUS someday.

Walker is so rattled that he took a page from Trump's Twitter Manual and went into full fledged panic mode, sending out a handful of tweets in a matter of minutes:

Not only are they amusing in and of themselves for revealing just how scared he is, but he inadvertently helped #BlueWave becoming a trending topic on Twitter. But then again, no one has ever accused him of being smart.

But Walker would really be better served if he started packing his bags and having someone help him dust off and update his resume. Maybe he can get a job he's truly qualified for, like being a human footstool for the Koch brothers.

Clarke: All Hat, No Cattle, And An Abundance Of Manure

When he was Milwaukee County Sheriff, David Clarke wasn't very good at his job. There were at least six deaths at his jail in just over a year. He pulled almost all of his deputies off of highway patrol. Instead of doing his job, Clarke spent most of his time traveling the country - and to Russia - to give paid speeches and to stump for Trump.

Having an approval rating in the 30s and facing almost certain defeat in next year's election, Clarke suddenly resigned to take a job in Trump's cabinet. But this quickly got shut down by General John Kelly, Trump's chief of staff. So Clarke ended up being a special consultant to Trump's PAC. There's no knowing if he's actually doing any consultation work, since he is still extremely busy making an ass out of himself on Twitter.

For example, when Congress woman Fredrica Wilson started calling out Trump for disrespecting the grieving family of a fallen soldier, Clarke jumped into action:

Clarke's defense of his master turns into comic relief a few days later when Clarke killed irony with one tweet:

Yes, this is coming from a guy who wears an ill-fitting cowboy hat himself and a chestful of fake medals. At least Rep. Wilson has a reason to wear her hats. Clarke's only reason is that he's trying to be more like a white conservative.

If you thought that was the ultimate faux pas, you would be wrong. There's more. There's always more.

Clarke topped off the week with this doozy of a tweet, which I decided to screencap before he deletes and/or changes it:

Surely, the gentle reader will recognize that the picture of a crying Obama was from when Obama was discussing the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, where 20 children and six teachers were gunned down in cold blood.

To make things worse, this isn't the first time Clarke has used that picture and exploited these deaths for a cheap political shot. In 2016, Clarke used the same picture to claim that black voters were rejecting Obama to vote for Trump:

That is definitely the signs of a sick, twisted mind.

This shameless exploitation of such a tragedy makes his typo seem trivial, when he says that Trump has the "metal" instead of mettle.

On second thought, maybe Clarke is just a graduate of the Trump University School of Tweeting.

Walker To Trump: Tweet More!

Trump catches hell almost daily for his asinine, inappropriate tweets, as he rightfully should. But Scott Walker thinks he's not tweeting enough:

Former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker disagrees with many of his fellow Republicans on President Trump's infamous Twitter account.

"Unlike others, I'd tell him to tweet more, to be on Facebook more, to get the message out more, but to be focused," Walker told host Julie Banderas on "America's News HQ."

The former 2016 presidential candidate said he is glad the president has an "unfiltered" way to speak to Americans, but he should be focusing on policy.

Say what?

"Former Wisconsin Governor..."?

Do they know something we don't?

And where does Walker, who has been blasted as being one of the most boring twits out there, gets off on giving anyone advice? Does Walker think Trump should tweet more pictures of steak with ketchup on it?

Has Walker gone insane, that he thinks Trump should tweet more? Maybe, maybe not.

Walker still has his eyes on the White House and he knows that Trump's tweets will only cause him problems if he chooses to run again (presuming he hasn't been forced out before then). That would open the door for an open primary again and Walker desperately wants to get away from Wisconsin while he still can.

RoJo: Trump Meant Comey Recorded Their Conversations

By now, the gentle reader is assuredly aware of the threat that Trump issued to former FBI director, James Comey, via Twitter:

Wisconsin's dumb senator, RoJo, shows that he is dumber than most when it comes that tweet. WKOW-TV caught up with RoJo during the Wisconsin GOP convention this past weekend and got an answer that no rational person would have expected:

When asked by 27 News if it would be troubling to find out the President secretly recorded conversations with a sitting FBI Director, Sen. Johnson replied - "That'd be troubling, sure."

27 News followed up by asking if he thought there should be an investigation into whether such tapes were made, Sen. Johnson seemed puzzled why such a question would be asked.

Sen. Johnson then explained he disagreed that President Trump was trying to suggest he may have recorded those conversations.

"No, he said that Comey had better not have recorded it," said Sen. Johnson.

Refusing to speculate on a hypothetical, Sen. Johnson refused further comment on whether the matter should be investigated - saying the important thing is that a credible FBI director be appointed to replace Comey and continue the investigation into Russian collusion.

You read that right.

RoJo thinks Comey had secretly had secretly recorded the conversations between he and Trump. Unfortunately, RoJo refused to explain how, if that were true, the tapes would be a threat to Comey.

Interestingly, we do know that Trump does have a history of recording conversations although Trump's staff won't come out and admit it.

I think I'm starting to see why RoJo is deathly afraid of holding any town hall meetings.

Baldwin Burns Walker In Twitter Flame Fight

Wisconsin Republicans have decided to ignore what usually happens in midterm elections and go all in in trying to defeat U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin in 2018. They have already started to attack and smear Baldwin at every turn.

Going along with that, and kissing up to Trump, Scott Walker went after Baldwin to try to force her to vote for Trump's nomination for SCOTUS, Neil Gorsuch:

Baldwin, who has already come out to say she won't vote for Grosuch, was having none of it and leveled Walker with one tweet:

Walker got his fee fees all hurt and sent out no less than sixteen petulant tweets, showing his immaturity and inability to cope with the truth.

Ironically, some of Walker's sniveling accused Baldwin of pandering to "liberal special interests. Yeah, this is the same guy who was described by prosecutors has being the center of a "criminal scheme" with dark money conservative groups.

Since Walker obviously didn't learn from the first time, Baldwin slammed him again:

Walker quickly backed down, saying he was happy being governor and had no interest in being a senator. I reckon he is hoping that no one will remember that he was so happy being governor that he ran for president, even though his campaign lasted only 10 weeks before imploding completely.

The real reason Walker doesn't want to trade jobs is that he thinks he has a better chance of being president being a governor rather than a senator. And trust me, he will run again. He's sucking up to Trump now, but once he gets what he wants from him, Walker will turn on Trump in a heartbeat, just like he did to Mitt Romney during the 2012 elections.

David Clarke: Outrageous Wingnut Or Hypocritical Sellout?

The Interwebs are abuzz with Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke's latest outrageous tweet:

It makes one wonder why Milwaukee County's top cop is trying to incite a riot. If he wasn't the sheriff and if Wisconsin's governor and attorney general as corrupt as they are, he might have been investigated for misconduct in office.

But, as the gentle reader might have guessed, there's more. There's always more.

As if Clarke's tweet trying to incite an open riot wasn't bad enough and only serves to highlight his outlandishness, it also shines a light on his hypocrisy.

Clarke, as it turns out, is even more corrupt as those he would have us riot against:

This "America's Sheriff" gig is certainly paying off for David A. Clarke Jr.

The Milwaukee County sheriff burst on the national scene not quite two years ago with his mix of pro-cop rhetoric and searing blasts at Black Lives Matter and President Barack Obama. Clarke's sudden rise to national prominence, earning him the nickname America's Sheriff, has been accompanied by an equally dramatic jump in his outside income.

Clarke's ethics disclosures show that he brought in slightly more than $150,000 in speaking fees, travel reimbursements, gifts and other items during 2015 — more than what he made as Milwaukee County sheriff, a job that pays $132,290 annually.

Notably, Clarke received a $40,000 trip to Israel and Russia funded largely by the National Rifle Association, earned $26,000 in speaking fees, locked up $22,500 in car services to shuttle to his various media appearances, took a plane flight valued at $9,000 to speak at an Idaho conference and scored playoff basketball tickets from the Milwaukee Bucks' GM.

During 2015, private groups or individuals paid $51,840 in airfare for Clarke to fly to 25 events, meetings or speaking engagements. That included $9,110 in airfare for Clarke, donning cowboy hat and uniform, to speak at the 33rd annual Allen & Co. conference — a four-day retreat for moguls and media figures — in Sun Valley, Idaho, on July 10, 2015. Overall, he had 11 flights that cost more than $1,000.

Among other items given to the sheriff in 2015 were:

• $26,000 in honorariums for speeches he gave to seven groups. His biggest was a $10,000 payment from the National Shooting Sports Foundation — the trade association for the firearms industry — for a talk at the group's annual trade show on Jan. 19, 2015. He was also given a $1,159 firearm.
• Two $175 tickets to a Milwaukee Bucks playoff game against the Chicago Bulls from general manager John Hammond on April 23, 2015. He also received four $58 tickets to a Milwaukee Brewers game on Aug. 14, 2015, against the Philadelphia Phillies.
• $22,500 in car services for media interviews. Clarke's form says this expense occurred in 2016, even though the report was supposed to cover only 2015 and was signed in January 2016.
• $600 annual membership to the exclusive National Republican Club of Capitol Hill. Clarke, who runs as a Democrat but lines up politically with Republicans, likes to say he belongs to neither political party.
• A black powder muzzleloader valued at $350 for winning the Charlton Heston Courage Under Fire Award in 2015 at the Conservative Political Action Conference, an annual gathering of thousands of GOP activists. Clarke's campaign reimbursed CPAC a little more than $3,000 for his expenses for this event.

If the gentle reader is thinking, "There oughta be a law!" against this sort of stuff, well, there is:

A former attorney for Milwaukee County says Clarke may have trouble justifying all of his gifts and expenses from last year.

"County ethics code is confusing, contradictory, frustrating," said the former official, who asked not to be named. "(But) Clarke’s fees, trips, meals, etc., seem a clear violation."

The ex-county attorney said it appears that Clarke is being given gifts and being paid fees to give speeches because of his position as sheriff.

The trips, in particular, do not seem to have any benefit to the county, the ex-county attorney said. They are not generating grant money for Milwaukee County or bringing support for positions taken by the County Board or the executive.

"Most of his trips are not publicized, or not until after the fact," the former county attorney said. "They are not publicized or promoted in any fashion beneficial to the county, only to himself."

Like I said at the beginning of this, if the governor and attorney general weren't as corrupt as they are, Clarke would be investigated and charged.

Ann Coulter Makes Holocaust Reference About Bernie Sanders

We all know that Ann Coulter is an attention-seeking, vile, wretched excuse for a person.  But on Tuesday night, she went way over the line when she sent out this tweet regarding the Democratic National Convention:

This tweet would cross the line in anyone's book (except maybe a Republican's), but it goes way beyond the pale when one remembers that Sanders is Jewish.

Is it any wonder why she is such a big fan of Donald Trump? He's almost as disgusting as she is.

UW Professor Naively Harrasses Incoming Republicans

UW Professor Sara Goldrick-Rab is under fire from local right wing fringe groups for trying to keep her college students informed.  '

Sara Goldrick-Rab is a professor of educational policy studies and sociology with a national profile in both her field of research and the ongoing debate over faculty tenure in Wisconsin public universities. She has openly said she's looking for another job because she believes academic freedom is in jeopardy in Wisconsin.

Goldrick-Rab acknowledges that she searched Twitter for individuals who identified themselves as future Badgers. The prolific Twitter-user says she wanted to inform them of changes to faculty tenure and shared governance that were about to become part of state law — changes she says would hurt the quality of their education, but that the university wasn't telling them about.

Professor Golrick-Rab took to twitter, to have informative discussions with incoming freshman and many were happy to get the personal attention and information.  Unfortunately though for Professor Goldrick-Rab, she also ran up against some incoming right wingers and that is where she made her mistake.  

Professor Goldrick-Rab made the mistake in thinking that all 18 year olds would be interested in gathering as much information about the world they are heading into as possible to help form a world view that is bigger than the sheltered one they have been living as high schoolers. 

Six days later, Goldrick-Rab reached out to all six students on Twitter: "I hate to bring bad news but," her tweet began. She then linked to an opinion piece published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel with the headline: "Threats to shared governance and tenure put mission of UW at risk."

Fairly safe there, just some quick info to a group of incoming freshman.  Then after some back and forth banter, Professor Goldrick-Rab crossed the line.

 "We don't want students 2 waste their $. It's info that's all," her tweet said. "University is changing as we speak. Maybe look at info?"

In case you missed the one sentence that disgusts and repels hard core WI right wingers than this line: "Maybe look at info?"

 Has Ms. Goldrick-Bab not listened to any of the right wing hate talked filled radio shows she would know that Republicans in WI have no interest in looking at info.  

They know what they know when they know it.   One of the kids said it best in their incredibly rude response to their Professor:

"No one cares sara," one of the students replied.

 When I went to college no one would call Professors by their first name (at least unless we have had numerous classes of theirs), however that was long before this kind of Governance took hold in WI:

The head of the college Republicans at UW-Madison, the aptly named Arthur Birch even went so far to accuse Professor Goldrick-Rab of harrassment:

College Republicans of UW-Madison Chairman Anthony Birch on Wednesday confronted Goldrick-Rab in a news release posted on the group's Facebook page: "Professor Sara Goldrick-Rab: We find the way you have approached the dialogue around the intersection of politics and our university's future disgusting and repulsive."

Goldrick-Rab crossed "all boundaries of professionalism and respect by seeking these recent graduates out on Twitter and proceeding to harass them with articles intended to lobby and persuade them to not attend the University of Wisconsin," the College Republicans statement said.

 Professor Goldrick-Rab needs to immediately stop harassing college students with articles and information.  

Does she think these kids came to college to be challenged intellectually or something?  

One thing we can take from this horrible incident though, is that our children are being indoctrinated in today's society.  I however would much rather they get their information from a degreed and award winning teacher as opposed to a thrice divorced radio talker.   

Deanna Alexander Does It Again - Money Matters, Black Lives - Not So Much

Two days ago, I reported about a very disgusting and vile racist tweet made my Deanna Alexander, in which she mocked the last words spoken by Eric Garner, a black man who was choked to death by a New York cop:

To say that her racism set off a firestorm would be an understatement.

She has spent the last two days deleting comments off of her Facebook page and locking down her campaign Twitter account.  The only three other people I have seen do that are her good friends and benefactors - Scott Walker, David Clarke and Chris Abele.

Unfortunately for her, not all of her friends support her overt racism.

A friend of Cog Dis has shared these tweets made by Alexander, showing that while she might not think that black lives matter, she does care about one thing - money:

In other words, she is more concerned about businesses making money than she is about people making a living wage or the reason for the protests- another black man being unjustly killed by a white cop, something which has become epidemic across the country.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that Alexander opposes raising the minimum wage, much less making it a living wage, making her complaints hypocritical and hollow - much like her spirit.

The fact is that Alexander is an embarrassment to the Milwaukee County Board and to Milwaukee County in general.

If she had a shred of dignity or respectability, she would apologize and resign immediately.  Don't hold your breath for either of those things to happen, since she doesn't possess either of those qualities.

I again call on the Milwaukee County Board to censure Alexander for her overt racism and attempts to fan the flames of the racial tension that envelops our community.

Yet Another Embarrassing Tweet By Scott Walker

After the Green Bay Packers routed the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night, Scott Walker decided to post this tweet to commemorate the occasion:

Considering that one of the bigger contributing factors to the Packers easy win is the fact that the Vikings' premier running back, Adrian Peterson, was not playing due to allegations of child abuse and the NFL's recent spike in incidents of domestic violence, Walker again put his cyber foot in his cyber mouth with this insensitive tweet.

And to think, this is coming from a guy who was just campaigning about how sensitive he is to domestic violence, too.

Chalk it up as just one more lie told by a master liar.

Right Wing Trolls

The past couple of months for me on Twitter has been...interesting, to say the least. If a psychologist ever needed to conduct an experiment in psychotic human behavior, all they'd need to do is read the right-wing tweets of nut job Scott Walker supporters and Knot My Wisconsin members.

I've been a regular user for a few years, but it's only gotten this bad for myself recently. It started at the end of December 2013 when I was browsing through tweets under the #wiunion hashtag. What I found among the few tweets of progressive intellectualism, were an army of Knots and various other right-wing nuts harassing Twitter users expressing progressive views. Of course, being the person I am, I engaged with one of this knuckle dragging morons and immediately I found myself becoming the target of vicious and disgusting personal attacks. I can handle that. I'm Irish and Norwegian, so I was blessed with a quick wit and smart ass attitude. I can trade barbs with the best of 'em. However, what I cannot deal with, accept or tolerate, it this:

Yep. This is a Scott Walker supporter telling me how much he wished Nazi's had killed all of my family back in Norway. Isn't that lovely? Hmm...can't say I ever recall a progressive saying something to this extreme. And you know, I could accept that this idiot and his right-wing ilk were just a vocal minority until I saw this tweet begging has been couple Chris and Dana Loesch, to re-tweet a hilariously ironic tweet about honoring a ww2 vet (is Tom aware that vet was fighting against fascist Hitler?)

The attacks didn't just fizzle out after awhile. Once you're on their radar, you stay there forever. They took it above going after me. They moved onto harassing my husband and stalking our every bit of information online on a near daily basis. They managed to find out things I had no idea anyone would know, or even care about. So I have to ask - is this really who the GOP wants to have representing their party? It's safe to say, "birds of a feather flock together." These Knots pray to the alter of Charlie Sykes, Vicki McKenna and local Republican parties. Charlie Sykes certainly could never tell someone he wished Hitler slaughtered all of someone's family (though I'm sure he thinks it) so they have their Twitter orcs to do their bidding for them.

Oh yeah. They're really racist, too.

Social media is a curse and a blessing. If we needed more proof that civil discourse in America is dead, just browse through Twitter. "Debates" turn into a toxic puddle of verbal poisons lobbed back and forth. And I won't play the innocent card - I've told my fair share of people exactly where they can go, but only because they never even tried to debate me. They ignore the meat of my points and go right for personal attacks. "You're fat!" "You're ugly!" Ohh, you sure got me, guys. I guess not everyone could graduate from elementary school. And these Knots are certainly examples of what happens when you don't.

Where is Scott Walker calling on his supporters to curb the rhetoric? Does he really support something like this?

The right-wing revels in this behavior because it whips their base into a frenzy. This is the Tea Party. This is the modern GOP. This is why they're losing supporters and elections. But really, we should just continue to let them speak. It shows the truth about what being conservative really means.

James Wigderson: Thin-Skinned and Thick-Headed

James Wigderson, who could most generously be described as a free lance propagandist, sure is thin-skinned and thick-headed.

Wigderson, who produces vast amounts of inanity for MacIver Institute (Motto: Anything but a news service!) and White Wisconsin, is trying - rather unsuccessfully - to join in the preemptive damage control which is coming from the Son of Doe investigations into the illegal collaboration between groups like MacIver and the political campaigns of Scott Walker and the other Teapublicans who were subjected to recalls.

Their strategy consists of trying to smear and discredit anyone who might report on the investigation, regardless of how foolish their attacks might make them look.

Wigderson tried to do that to Scot Ross of One Wisconsin Now and Jason Stein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.  The result of Wigderson's efforts was to get blocked by Stein on Twitter, which Wigderson promptly whined about on his blog.

When I first saw this in my reader, I found this hilariously hypocritical of Wigderson, since he had blocked me and several other lefties years ago.  And checking now, I find that I am indeed still blocked:

But as with all right wing nut jobs, there's more.  There's always more.

When I actually went to his blog to get the link for this post, what do I find but that Wigderson is apparently selling ad space to people targeting - well, let's just say lonely men:

I can't wait until he starts lecturing us on how to live a pure and proper life and all about his family values.

Um, Governor, Your Slip Is Showing...

Earlier this evening, Scott Walker's handlers made the mistake of allowing him to access his Twitter account:

Oh dear me!*  It looks like Walker had a Freudian slip! 

Obviously, the recent recommendation from his transportation commission, in which they recommended increasing the gas tax and raising fees through the moonroof, is weighing heavily on his mind.

On one hand, if he supports his commission's recommendations, he'll have to turn in his tea bags and be ran out of the state by his own supporters.

On the other hand, he needs to create a huge cash flow to the road builders who spent a lot of money in supporting his campaigns.  Furthermore, he'll need even more money for his legal cooperation fund.

What's a corrupt governor to do?

Well, one thing he shouldn't do is try to correct his previous mistake:

The lame attempt at trying to explain away the gaffe is bad enough, but what is really embarrassing is a governor that goes "LOL."  Well, at least it wasn't ROFLCOPTER or something like that.

Last night, Scott Walker made the following tweet:

This fits in with the latest right wing meme that the only way to succeed is on your own and that the government can't solve or even help with people's problems.  With people like him in charge, he just might have a point.

However, true to the nature of the weasel that he is, that statement didn't last 12 hours before he blew himself out of the water.

Bright and early this morning, Walker was part of the joyful news that Kohl's was going to keep its headquarters in Menominee Falls, WI.  He sent out a press release on how his administration is giving Kohl's up to $62.5 million in tax breaks for staying in the state and adding jobs.  On top of that, the village of Menominee Falls will be giving the company $41 million in the form of a TIF.

Obviously, right-wingers must consider Kohl's to be a failure since they needed over $100 million in government assistance.

But Kohl's is not the only failure.

Walker is one as well, by his own standards:

Governor Walker requested a Federal Disaster Designation for 23 Wisconsin counties due to significant damages suffered from the ongoing drought conditions, according to a news release from the Walker administration.

Under the designation, Wisconsin farmers could apply for emergency loans through the Farm Service Agency.

Like I said, he just might have a point. For example, if we wait for Walker to create 250,000 jobs, it might never happen.

Are Governor Ensures His Aides Our Kept Busy

The other day, I pointed out one of Scott Walker's latest examples of his abysmal spelling and rotten grammar.

The next day, despite it being already all over the Internet, Walker's aides deleted it.

It's bad enough that Walker made that faux pas in the first place.  But in reality, it was a trivial point suitable only for snark.  But by making it disappear, they actually make things worse by showing just how insecure they are feeling about things right now.

They're making this almost too easy.

Today's Twitter Etiquette Lesson -- Retweeting

From the inbox, an email from NOI, the folks that brought me fame (but, alas, no fortune) as a panelist, regarding the use of a Twitter feature, the automatic retweet button:

Recently, Matt Stempeck recommended that you use the official RT feature on Twitter. I’m here to recommend that you DON’T use it, at least not for advocacy tweeting.

Why not? Say you’re tweeting about someone, and you want them to be flooded with mentions when people start retweeting you. Twitter and most Twitter clients will not show your target a tweet in which they are mentioned if the re-tweeter uses the retweet button. However, that person will see every retweet, if people use the traditional RT.

For example, you tweet:

Hey @BarackObama – Why haven’t you put solar panels on the White House yet?

If 30 people hit the retweet button, President Obama will only see your one tweet. He will not know that 30 people retweeted your question.

However, he will see the tweet 30 times if your followers tweet this instead:

RT @YourTwitterHandle: Hey @BarackObama – Why haven’t you put solar panels on the White House yet?

This means it’s your responsibility on advocacy tweets to make sure that you include enough characters for someone to do the traditional RT. These traditional RT’s are much more effective in terms of advocacy and putting pressure on decision makers.

For those newer to Twitter, the retweet function was created a little over a year ago. Before that, any retweet had to be done by adding "RT @Whoever" to the beginning of the tweet, hence the name “traditional RT.” The retweet button is a perfectly legitimate form of tweeting and spreading information. It allows you to share information easily, but unfortunately it diminishes the power of direct advocacy on Twitter. So if you’re trying to get someone’s attention by swamping them with mentions, have people do the “traditional RT” instead of using the RT button!
