Amber Moreen, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele's chief of staff, is leaving for California, Abele's office confirmed Friday. The article goes on to say that Abele will do a nationwide search for Moreen's replacement, although he doesn't specify at the county or at Argosy or both.
Abele hired Moreen to the chief of staff post about two years ago after she served a stint as a county policy adviser. She also worked for the Abele family's Argosy Foundation.
Moreen is leaving for Los Angeles, where her husband has a job opportunity, Abele said in an email to county department heads.
For the would be candidate, I hope it's both, since the county gig is going to last less than two years.
I also can't help but feel a little bad for the others in Abele's office that has had to put up with his tantrums and hissy fits - on a nearly daily basis - but then get passed up at the first chance for advancement.
Maybe they should have joined the union.
Nice catch on the decision NOT to hire from within.
ReplyDeleteThe horrible message this sends is that experience actually working in Milwaukee County government isn't very valued.
