Screnock The Supreme Sham

By Jeff Simpson

Next week, we get a chance again to tweak our Wisconsin Supreme Court.  The choice is down to Hard Core right winger Mike Screnock and Rebecca Dallett.   While Dallett has run an all over the board, low road campaign, she has to be the choice.

Screnock, who likes to pretend he is nonpartisan and will follow the rule of law to a T, yet his whole career has proven the exact opposite.

When Screnock was younger, he took time away from playing tennis and the tuba for the Baraboo Thunderbirds:

To get himself arrested twice for blocking women's access to healthcare and refusing to give his name to the police when arrested

It is always nice when the Supreme Court Justice can share his mugshots.

But wait there is more, there is always more:

Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC), Scott Walkers boss, have spent north of $600,000 to elect Screnock.  The Republican Party of Wisconsin, is in for about $150,000, The NRA has given him their strong endorsement and Right Wisconsin gives him unlimited free press because he is their largest advertiser.

Screnock has hired some of the worst of the worst right wing extremists to run his campaign:
His campaign is staffed by longtime Republican operatives including Sean Lansing and Luke Hilgemann, both formerly with the Koch brothers’ Americans for Prosperity, and Nathan Conrad, formerly a spokesman for the state GOP.
To make matters worse, Screnock knows that he is running as a GOP Justice and has unlimited funds trying to get him elected.   That means he has no interest in even attempting to do the work needed to win grass roots support!
Screnock has blown off candidate questions from the League of Women Voters. He avoided some joint appearances prior to the primary and backed out of a March 13 debate before the Dane County Bar Association, after originally agreeing to take part. The group’s treasurer, David Friedman, says that “to the best of the DCBA’s knowledge,” no other major candidate for state Supreme Court has ever failed to appear at its candidate forum.
Screnock has even engaged in artful dodging to avoid discussing his own actions in court.
While Mike was in Mock Trial his senior year, it seems that all he has learned to mock are the citizens and voters of Wisconsin.

It is time to upgrade our Supreme Court even if it is only slightly.

Please do not vote Screnock!

Santorum Speaks to the Republican Base

This is Rick Santorum.

Rick Santorum was brought to WI, during the last election as a headliner by Americans for Prosperity and Luke Hilgemann, in their defending the American Dream summit.

On Saturday, March 24, Americans for Prosperity Foundation-Wisconsin will host the Wisconsin Defending the American Dream Summit.

AFP Foundation-Wisconsin is proud to announce presidential candidate Rick Santorum, Senator Ron Johnson, and Congressman Paul Ryan will speak at the Defending the American Dream Summit.
This is who Rick Santorum is:

That Americans for Prosperity in Wisconsin feature Mr. Santorum as a "conservative" speaker and that Paul Ryan and Ron Johnson enjoy sharing the stage with him, tells you what you need to know about them.

Its only post racial America when we hold people accountable for their racism.

*Edit note - This speech was not given at the AFP-WI summit, but shortly before it.    Santorum was still allowed to speak.

Americans for Hypocrisy!

By Jeff Simpson

We have written alot here at CogDis about Americans for Prosperity and their old gopher boy Luke Hilgemann.   Although Luke has kind of had the last laugh, in that as he has become a VERY rich man (more on that story soon) and no longer has to live under the oppression of Scott Walker's regime.

When Luke got promoted from local gopher to national coffee boy, the koch brothers, in their Wisconsin division of the Walker Campaign, needed a replacement, and they found one in David Fladboe.

They found Fladboe the same place that they found Hilgemann and Sean Lansing - straight from Scott Suder's office.    If your going to have an unethical, misleading organization like Americans for Prosperity, which is led by the vermin Tim Phillips, then Scott Suder is the perfect person to train your up and comers (United Sportsmen anyone?)!

Now that we are caught up on the backstory of AFP, here is their current campaign:

In case it does not just JUMP right out at you......

Americans for Prosperity - STANDS WITH low-income workers, and unemployed Americans by opposing the minimum wage increase.

Nothing says prosperity like low income workers and the unemployed!

The High Cost of Low Elected Expectations

By Jeff Simpson

I brought you my thoughts of what happened in the special elections yesterday and how to start fixing them in the future.   As I was going through the articles regarding the elections, something hit me that did not stand out at first.

In the 69th, to replace dirty little Scott Suder,  republican Bob Kulp won.    Now we know that he will not be the brightest bulb on the legislative Christmas tree already but this one made me wonder.

See dirty little Scott Suder knew that when the United Sportsmen calamity came to light he had better be as far away from elected office as he could get.   DL Suder also knew that his friends Robin Vos and Scott Walker would give him cover to get out of there, because in the end he was giving hundreds of thousands of dollars of our taxpayer money to his friends, but they were also their friends.    Suderman just was willing to take the heat, as long as he got a nice promotion out of the deal.

In recruiting his replacement, he found someone who would not upset the apple cart with any new thoughts or ideas and picked Bob Kulp to replace him.

Contrast that with Kulp, who had created a campaign Facebook page the weekend before Suder even officially announced he was leaving the Assembly. Kulp also received the support of top Assembly Republicans, and Walker spoke in support of Kulp at a Marshfield fundraiser last week that drew hundreds of supporters.

However this from the person who ran a "jobs" campaign:

Kulp said his first priority is figuring out what is stagnating job growth in the state.
So Mr. Jobs, in the party of jobs, who has been a candidate to replace dirty little suder for months, who knows he is the best person to represent the 69th assembly district in Madison, will soon get around to figuring out why Scott Walker has not created any jobs yet.

Does anyone vet these people?   Is it any wonder our economy is a disaster?

(Notice Luke Hilgemann in the background,  whispering in Kulp's ear.  As long as Kulp is an elected official, Hilgemann will be whispering in his ear.   Luke wants his $500,000 back)

The Incredible Ron Johnson

By Jeff Simpson:

Recently after one of the cuckoo conferences in Florida, our friends at Americans for Prosperity, rented out Universal Studios in Orlando as a way to thank you to all of the legislators that do what they are told all year.    How that is remotely legal, no one knows, but welcome to the 21st century in politics.

Here is Ron Johnson and Vicki Pyzinski enjoying time together, free from the constraints of hanging out with the Boss's Daughter or fighting the police.   I wonder how this day shows up on RoJo's campaign finance report?

Anyway we see these guys having such a great time, all we need is a caption!

Robin Vos Runs!

By Jeff Simpson

NO...Robin Vos is not running from his oath as a married man that he swore before God twice(at least) - He already has done that twice(at least)!  Nor is he looking to run for Governor....he knows he has no chance!

No Robin Vos is running from responsibility, again.  He is trying very hard to distance himself(and his party) from the debacle that is the United Sportsmen Scandal.

However, it is not working.  As typical, when Robin Vos speaks, ethics go flying out the window

First some background on United Sportsmen.

Scott Suder wrote a grant of WI taxpayer money into the last budget.  This money was written specifically for one group, a bunch of old Suder Staffers and republican donors.  It was for the sum of $500,000 and it was also written to give this group a sum of $250,000 annually for as far as we could see.

The problem was, that as is typical for the WI republicans, the former Suder staffers were not qualified in any sort of useful talent to actually justify such a payment, so Suder disguised it as a fishing and hunting grant.  Then Suder resigned his position to take another government position to double dip and help pad his WI taxpayer provided pension by joining the Walker Administration.

Almost from the minute he wrote this horrendous piece of WI taxpayer theft, (it was debated all of 7 minutes then quickly passed by the Joint Finance Committee),  there were major problems.

First, as is par for the course for Wisconsin republicans, they lied from the start.  First about their tax exempt status

 - A sportsmen's group is apologizing for misleading lawmakers and the public about its federal nonprofit status in winning a controversial $500,000 grant to promote hunting and fishing.

The Journal Sentinel reported on Friday that the United Sportsmen of Wisconsin Foundation Inc. appeared to be improperly claiming a federal tax-exempt status during the process of receiving a grant to promote hunting and fishing in the state.
OOPS....But whats a little lying to the legislature amongst friends, because there is more.   Then Suder said the legislation was incredibly important for the future of hunting in WISCONSIN.

In an interview, Suder said the grant would help to avert a "looming crisis" for hunting and fishing and ensure the future of those pastimes in the state.
The problem here?  His good friend, the former head of AFP-WI and former Suder staffer Luke Hilgemann does not EVEN LIVE IN WISCONSIN!

Hard to ward off a "looming crisis" in WI when you live in Burke, Virginia.

Not ones to be deterred by minor details such as this, they plodded on.  As regular readers know, there is ALWAYS more.

The head of United Wisconsin, the hunting training experts, Andy Pantzlaff, was cited for illegal hunting AND lied to the DNR about it

OOPS.

This turned out to be the final straw, as hard as he tried to give his friends $500,000 of OUR money, after this latest guffaw, the 2016 pretend presidential contender had to draw a line somewhere.   The final straw was probably main cheerleader the JSONLINE editorial board even asked their boy Scott Walker to rescind the money.

As the saying goes, when you lose the JSONLINE editorial board....

So finally Cathy Stepp had to be drug, kicking and screaming, to stop the ridiculous payment.

In a statement, Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp said she spoke with Walker on Thursday and he canceled the grant to United Sportsmen, which had been aimed at promoting the state's sporting heritage. Instead, Walker ordered the DNR to find other means to achieve that goal.

"We also agreed that it is essential for any organization that receives financial support from the state to have the trust of the public in its capabilities to produce concrete results. Even though United Sportsmen of Wisconsin Foundation Inc. did and does still meet the statutory criteria established by the Legislature for the grant award, the governor asked me to not finalize the grant award. I will honor this request and fully support this decision," Stepp said.
DNR Secretary Stepp, really really wanted to give them the money.  I get it though, they are all friends and im sure her friends at United Sportsmen already had that money spent!

Its a tough thing for people like Hilgemann, havin to tell his wife the vacation to Hawaii this winter has to be called off for now.

Now back to Robin Vos, who took time away from his paramour and attacking the UW  System to weigh in( Those paying attention will notice, that the longer Robin Vos has power the more arrogant he gets, but thats another blog).

What did Robin Vos have to say?  Exactly what you would think he had to say.   It was not his fault!

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, said former Rep. Scott Suder, who recently stepped down as majority leader to take a job with the Public Service Commission, took the lead in adding the grant to the 2013-15 state budget.
Gov. Scott Walker asked DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp late Thursday to rescind the grant.
Vos said he “was not directly involved” in adding the language, which resulted in only one group, which has political connections to Suder, applying for the grant.

Vos is only the leader of the party and the head of the power joint finance committee that passed the amendment allowing this theft of WI taxpayer money but he was "not involved".   I'm guessing the party tries to cut him out of as many decisions as possible.    The party of "personal responsibility" is trying desperately to shirk the blame.   I am surprised in the article that Vos did not find a way to blame Obamacare.

The light shone on the cockroachs and everyone went scrambling and two people who deserved much scorn and have escaped all scrutiny are Neil Kedzie and Al Ott.

The five-member Sporting Heritage Committee is scheduled to meet Thursday in Madison to review the application.

The committee is composed of Gunderson, DNR executive assistant; Sen. Neal Kedzie (R-Elkhorn), chairman of the Senate Natural Resources Committee; Rep. Al Ott (R-Forest Junction), chairman of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee; and Mark LaBarbera of Hazel Green and Bill Torhorst of Oregon, both appointed to the committee by the DNR.
Both of these "fiscal conservatives" could not give our money to their friends fast enough, no questions asked!

My dream is that maybe one day, a reporter in the state will point out how truly not conservative, the Wisconsin "conservatives" are!

The Wisconsin republican party are NOT "fiscal conservatives", they are fiscal opportunists and its costing us all dearly!

Terrorism or Not Terrorism

By Jeff Simpson

AFP-Wisconsin, our resident Koch brothers Shrill group, is now carrying water for Chris ClineLuke Hilgemann will sell out to anyone.    Today on facebook they posted the youtube video of a protestor in Northern Wisconsin, swearing and pulling a camera from someone who worked for the mine.   They posted it with this caption:

Only one way to describe this - Eco-terrorism.

So lets break it down for Luke.

 ter·ror·ism
[ter-uh-riz-uhm] Show IPAnoun

1.the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.
2.the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3.a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.
 Hmmm

Definition of ECOTERRORISM

1: sabotage intended to hinder activities that are considered damaging to the environment
2: political terrorism intended to damage an enemy's natural environment

if you look up the items needed to Mine our pristine Northwoods, no where is a camera part of the essential items.    So grabbing a camera from someone's hands is dumb it is NOT "ecoterrorism!

So let us sum it up for you:

THIS is terrorism:

THIS is NOT terrorism:

If you insist that the above video IS terrorism, then this also has to be terrorism:

If you insist that the northern Wisconsin incident is terrorism, then THIS also has to be terrorism(PS- Santorum was AFP's guy):

Or Hilgemann is just a hypocritical partisan hack who brings nothing to the table.

Just Another Day in Wisconsin!

By Jeff Simpson

A quick look at the headlines, and you will find out that April 30, 2013, is just your typical day in Wisconsin.

First thing we see is that there are more Wisconsinites losing their jobs, 100 at one plant and 90 Wisconsin workers at another.

While we lose hundreds of jobs a day, the two papers of record are on it.  The Wisconsin State Journal is so upset that they decided to attack public school teachers (yet again) in their editorial.  JSOnline has decided to prioritize advocating for less democracy in Milwaukee County.

While we all wish that our media was more competent, its the legislators that can really get something done. With Wisconsin dropping to 44th(out of 50) in jobs created and obviously losing jobs by the day, let us check in and see what the legislature has on its plate to help fix this:

1.    The extremist personhood law, declaring life at first date!

2.    Limiting voting hours.

3.    More Austerity!

These days all of this right wing extremist crazy and hundreds of job losses in WIsconsin are so common place that no one even blinks*.

Except AFP-WI who parties everytime we have bad Wisconsin news!

Fallone!

By Jeff Simpson

Capper has done an excellent job letting us know who Ed Fallone is, and why he is the absolute right choice to be our next Supreme Court Justice in Wisconsin.

I want to cover a slightly different aspect.  The Walker agenda.  I received this email today from our friends at Americans for Prosperity Poverty:

Dear Jeffrey,
Act 10 is working for Wisconsin but the courts still hold this important reform in their hands. The last challenge to this law is on the doorstep of the State Supreme Court and could be decided this spring.

Ed Fallone has made it very clear that he would overturn Act 10 and turn back the clock to record deficits, out of control spending and rising property taxes.

He called the current challenge to Act 10 "Serious" and has written about his opposition to the first time the Supreme Court upheld the law. He has also gotten support for his positions from the very public employee unions that are working to overturn the law.

Act 10 has saved taxpayers $2 billion, turned a $3.6 billion deficit into a surplus and lowered property taxes for the first time in 12 years. Pure and simple, Act 10 is working.

Call Ed Fallone at (920) 540-5875 to tell him that Act 10 is working for Wisconsin families.

Yours in Liberty,

Luke Hilgemann
State Director
AFP- Wisconsin

Lets take a look at this quickly.

1.  Act 10 is absolutely, unequivocally NOT working for Wisconsin.

2.  Ed Fallone has absolutely NOT made it clear he would overturn ACT 10.  Ed Fallone, in his duties as a Constitutional law professor at Marquette, has written that Judge Colas' ruling overturning parts of ACT 10 is a well written, thought out decision and that Judge Colas was correct in taking the lawsuit seriously.

When Hilgemann writes that Fallon "has made it clear" Hilgemann is lying

3.  Public unions have endorsed him.  At least public unions are run and funded by public employees from WI.   AFP-WI has endorsed Roggensack, who funds your operation Mr. Hilgemann?

4.  Act 10 has "saved taxpayers" $2 billion?  We know that is also not true, in a recession what ACT 10 has done is taken $2 billion worth of demand out of our economy.

5.  While some people's taxes have gone down slightly(mine have risen), in their actual bill(I could explain to you how everyone's taxes have skyrocketed under walker but thats another post), are we supposed to elect Supreme Court Justices because they will "lower our taxes"  or because we trust them to follow the law?

Is Hilgemann being deceitful here or is he just ignorant as to what a Supreme Court Justice's responsibilities really are?

Call Luke Hilgemann at 608-204-5915 and tell him to stop using out of state billionaires money to advance right wing lies to the people of WI.

The AFP Steal Our Kids Money Tour!

The Americans for Prosperity Poverty recently did a little tour around the state telling us why they wanted to take our children's education money.  Here is a recap of their stop in Beloit, WI.  Unfortunately it was written by a stenographer who either didn't want to ask questions, or wasn't allowed.   Since this reporter dropped the ball....allow us here @cog_dis to pick it up and run with it!

* Kristi Lacroix makes $74,000 a year which is more than anyone in our district or Janesville's district.  What is she in the top 5% of teachers paid in the state? i guess the union really screwed her over!

* I wonder how much @afp-wisconsin pays her to run around to these things.

*  More from Kristi:
She said schools afraid of competition should get it together or get out of the business of education. And she doesn’t accept excuses of kids not performing well because they are poor or come from bad homes.
 - Schools are NOT a business, there is no profit margin, Schools are an INVESTMENT!

 -  Secondly, to dismiss poverty as a factor in learning  shows you do not know how to google, or you are being paid to not Google.

* more Kristi:   "Stressing that the best teachers won’t lose their jobs in the event of expanded school choice,..."
               - Without Collective bargaining agreements and the redefinition of "just cause", what do you base that on?

* finally with Kristi;   “I’ll save you tons of money. Let me watch the best teachers in the state,” LaCroix said. “When school choice really opens up in Wisconsin, it’s not going to be to suburban schools, it’s going to be to successful schools who invested in their teachers.

-Well one thing Kristi, we as a school district are only able to "invest in the teachers" up to the CPI and not a penny more!  I will give you a break on that one as I am sure that economics is not your strong suit and you obviously have no idea what ACT 10 says.

*   Next comes Tony Katz, who they flew in from out of state(for some reason) then put together a false video for him to show and get the blame for(with friends like @AFPWI , who needs enemies?).

Katz played a video presenting statistics, including a claim that “51 percent of Beloit schools were failing,” which prompted Beloit Superintendent Steve McNeal to interject that the claim was false.

* We only get a few glimpses of AFP director Luke Hulgemann;

 - “We believe that competition drives innovation and results for all children,” Wisconsin State Director of AFP Luke Hilgemann said. “We need better results. We are falling behind other states and other countries.”

-  (speaking to the false video)  Hilgemann said the statement comes from reading the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) report card. In October the report cards indicated that School District of Beloit has seven of its 14 schools meeting or exceeding expectations, and half of the schools in the district meeting fewer expectations.

Yet we get enough to know that Hilgemann is NOT the sharpest pencil in the box, but probably plays the role of stooge for his Masters very well!

Kudos to those who showed up to bring sanity to this parade of propaganda, but it appears that people actually spoke up and said "thanks but no thanks" to the AFP snake oil!

Some attendees voiced concern over the images shown, and what they considered to be exaggerated claims.
Parent Rick McGrath noted the images shown weren’t from Beloit.
“Images can be very powerful. Those were very dour and provocative photos. You’re casting the wrong impression of my community,” McGrath said.
McGrath said Beloit just passed its $70 million referendum and hasn’t had time to act out its plan yet.
Teacher Kathleen Woodman said she felt hurt by the video, and said it implied the School District of Beloit is failing, which she rejected.
“I want choices for our kids, but we also must speak about public education with honest facts,” Woodman said.

Finally, local rep Amy Loudenbeck showed up and realized that this is a losing proposition distanced her self from it(also obviously trying to pretend that the mess the republicans made when they rammed through the 18 of ACT10, which she proudly voted for): :

Loudenbeck said she would like to see a parental choice debate focused on the children and families that could benefit from school choice and private school vouchers, without targeting individual school or district performance.
“I realize that may be difficult, but I am willing to work with community members to continue a respectful and open discussion on this issue,” Loudenbeck said.

With such a false and sloppy presentation, do we really want these people in charge of educating our children???

More Caption Fun

As long as Americans for Prosperity continues to pretend they are a serious "grassroots" organization and as long as they continue to provide us with material(this from their facebook page), I will be there to make fun of them.

Caption this -  Here is their caption for the picture(not sure which is funnier):

“Where there is a spark of patriotic fire, we will rekindle it!” - AFP's President, Tim Phillips.

I would say this looks like the committee that decided on bringing Ann Coulter to WI for their GOTV strategy!

More AFP-WI!

We have written alot about our friends at Americans for Prosperity Poverty - WI! As we get closer to the election, we know that the koch funded astroturf organization will be stepping up efforts.  The Kochs have made no secret of that!  Their problem is in their messaging.   Since the Koch brothers are despicable people, it makes sense that they would bring in people who are just as despicable, to try and get out the right wing vote.

This time they are bringing in an all-star from the despicable line up: Ann Coulter!

Dear Jeffrey,
Don’t miss our rally and book signing this week featuring Ann Coulter in Madison, Wisconsin! You will be educated, motivated and receive tools to fight back against Obama's failing agenda.

Meet New York Times best seller Ann Coulter after you are educated on economic freedom and the failing policies of the administration. Join AFP-Wisconsin, Coulter, and other activists alike to demonstrate the grassroots are demanding a change in policies from the administration.

Where: Monona Terrace Community Center, 1 John Nolen Drive, Madison

When: Sunday, November 4, 12 - 1 PM

The failures just keep piling up. We need an agenda that will lead America to Prosperity, not one that puts us deeper in debt.

I hope to see you on the road!
Sincerely,
Luke HilgemannWisconsin State DirectorAmericans for Prosperity

Luke Hilgemann, and the rest of his AFPWI group would like to introduce you to Ann Coulter.  Let me save you some time.

(talking to a disabled Vietnam vet) "People like you caused us to lose that war." -- Ann Coulter on MSNBC
Disgusting. This disabled Vietnam veteran fought against communism when no one else like Ann would. She was fired from MSNBC because her comment was so bad.

"There is a growing body of evidence that radiation in excess of what the government says are the minimum amounts we should be exposed to are actually good for you and reduce cases of cancer." -Ann Coulter, on fears over the fallout from Japan's nuclear crisis, Bill O'Reilly interview, March 18, 2011

"I was going to have a few comments about John Edwards but you have to go into rehab if you use the word faggot." --Ann Coulter at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity." Ann Coulter

"The swing voters -- I like to refer to them as the idiot voters because they don't have set philosophical principles. You're either a liberal or you're a conservative if you have an IQ above a toaster."  Ann Coulter

Then let's not forget her recent "tweet" during the presidential debate:

“I highly approve of Romney’s decision to be kind and gentle to the retard.”

Not everyone thinks she is funny.

So this is the person that AFP-Wi felt was best suited to come to WI and help "get out the vote"?  Are you going to take your family to see her?  Is what she said acceptable?  Do you find these statements funny?   Is such hateful and stupid rhetoric what makes one a "rockstar" on the right?  Iw onder if Paul Ryan or any other republican politico will show up and endorse this?

Those are all questions that you have to decide.

Let them know how you feel!

@AFPWI

FREE GAS!!!

We all know that Americans for Prosperity is a right wing extremist shadow group, financed by the Koch brothers and likes to wallow in the state of Wisconsin's misfortunes

In the same vein as illegally handing out subs for votes, AFP- Americans for Poverty, has taken buying of votes a step further.

Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin has taken President Obama’s failing economic and energy policies into its own hands, pledging to ease Wisconsinites’ pain at the pump by returning to $1.84 gasoline.
When President Obama took office in January 2009, gas cost just $1.84 per gallon,” said AFP-Wisconsin State Director Luke Hilgemann. “Because of the president’s failing economic and energy policies, we’ve seen gas prices go as high as $4 per gallon recently.”

To help relieve the pain at the pump and show Wisconsinites that there is a better way, AFP-Wisconsin will be paying the difference for you Tuesday, October 30th from 11am to 3pm at the Mount View Mobil Station (County Road NN exit on I-39) in Wausau.
Be one of the first 300 cars to show up, and AFP-WI will help remind you what it was like to fill up before President Obama took office, and to put grassroots pressure on the President to get serious about reducing energy prices.

Under President Obama, domestic energy production has hit an all-time low. By failing to achieve American energy independence and pursuing short-sighted economic policies, the president has helped send gas prices through the roof across Wisconsin.
Now for us thinking Wisconsinites, we know that Luke Hilgemann and AFP are lying to us when they say that domestic energy production is at an all time low.  We also know that Mr. Hilgemann and AFP-WI are lying to us when they whine about current gas prices!  Forget that, because Mr. Hilgemann makes good money to lie and mislead you, so congratulate him for that and set that aside and GO GET YOUR FREE GAS!!

Next Tuesday from 11AM - 3 PM at the Mount View Mobil Station on County Road NN(exit on I-39)!!
Take a picture of AFP-WI filling up your tank, with your favorite progressive bumper stickers on your car,  and then share them with us - jeff_simpson7@yahoo.com!

One last thing, in case you were suffering from #romnesia, what were the gas prices july 2008 under the oil men bush/cheney? Mr. Hilgemann must have forgotten!

Finally, so you do not feel like you are a total "taker", after you get your free tank of gas, donate $10 to your favorite progressive candidate- in the name of AFP of course!

Another Caption post

Americans for Prosperity Poverty is the gift that keeps giving.   Every time we get bad economic news in Wisconsin, AFP throws a party

The fact that they are so incompetently run and rejoice when Wisconsinites get bad news gives plenty of blog fodder but the best thing about them is they keep giving me "caption this" photos.  While none will beat this one, here is another,  I could not resist!

Here is the description from AFP:

One of AFP's youngest activists gets involved to make phone calls and change the policies that are failing our country.

Click "LIKE" if you're excited to see activists of all ages making a difference!

Im sure you can come up with a better description.

AFP is Partying Again!

I have never done a caption this post before, however this picture was too hard to pass on.

Here is a picture from an "Americans for Prosperity" rally in Charlotte during the week of the Democratic Convention....So please caption this below in the comments!

While we are on the subject of  "Americans for Poverty", not only can you not believe anything they say, nothing screams grassroots more than this(fresh from their defunding the American Dream tour, they are now on a President Obama is failing to do everything the Koch brothers tell them tour):

AFP knows how to party

AFP- WI Is At It Again!

We brought you the story of how, after finding out that WI led the nation in job losses in June and that we are 2nd in the Nation in Construction job losses(thanks Alaska), Americans for Prosperity Poverty (AFP-WI) the Koch funded shadow group, decided that this news  was so exciting for the State of Wisconsin that they decided to party!

They are back at it.  Now AFP-WI is holding a birthday party for deceased and discredited economist Milton Friedman!

Milton Freidman 100th Birthday Celebration

July 31st
6:30pm to 8pm
Country Springs Hotel
2810 Golf Rd Pewaukee, WI

With Rep Robin Vos, AFP State Director Luke Hilgemann, President of School Choice WI Jim Bender, and Brian Pleva of American Federation for Children
It is good that they are going to celebrate a discredited economist, by having no economists in the room!   As for the collection of wingnuts speaking who want to privatize our schools so they can profit off of them,  it did not seem to work in Philadelphia
