What Does $349,000 Buy These Days?

What does $349,000 buy these days?

*  For about $1200 a month, it will buy you a house and a mortgage. 

*  A Mercedes Benz S 400

*  the payroll of the 1955 St. Louis Cardinals. 

* A Speech by Ben Bernanke;

*  Republican Senator Tom Tiffany:
Races in which AFC(American Federation for Children) has been active, include spending over $259,000 attacking Democrat Jeff Wright and promoting Republican Todd Novak in Assembly District 51; over $241,000 attacking Democrat Mandy Wright and promoting Republican Pat Snyder in Assembly District 85; over $54,000 attacking Democrat Dennis Hunt and promoting Republican Rob Summerfield in Assembly District 67; over $45,000 attacking Democrat David Gorski and promoting Republican Scott Krug in Assembly District 72; over $349,000 attacking Democrat Bryan Van Stippen in his race against Republican Tom Tiffany in Senate District 12; and over $62,000 attacking Democrat Mark Harris in his race against Republican Dan Feyen in Senate District 18.

We have written extensively about the American Federation for Children, and their frontman, formerly convicted felon Scott Jensen, here at CogDis and it is only fitting that they would be playing one big con, since they are primarily funded from the Amway fortune(which is one big scam where only a few benefit from the work of the many).  

That brings up some very serious questions.   

1.  How can an organization trying to steal money from public education afford to spend millions of dollars to do so? 

2.  Why give Tom Tiffany so much more money than everyone else?

3.  Why would anyone who gets less than $349,000 from American Federation for Children give Scott Jensen the time of day?   Is Tom Tiffany seven times more important to the cause than Scott Krug?  That is a question Scott Krug can contemplate when David Gorski is being sworn in in January.   

4.  If an out of state Billionaire has bought the allegiance of a candidate. why would we give them the power to enact their agenda in our great state.   

5.  Has there ever been a more bought and paid for legislator in Wisconsin than Tom Tiffany?

6.  Do you think its ok. and ever ask yourself why, people are so willing to spend so much money on a $50k/yr job?  or if that money could be better spent in the community?


We can change the direction of our state from the bought and paid for government we have no, to one where we actually have a say in our own Government.

Three's Company

As we get closer to election day and the chance to get our state back on the right track, it is time to showcase some more talent that we need to send to Madison.  

We will start out in Hayward, WI where Elizabeth Riley is running for the 87th Assembly seat against Jimmy Boy Edming.   Jimmy boy is known for one thing, being the first person in WI to endorse The Donald.   Yes THAT Donald,and the reason he gives is brilliant (in a Sarah Palinesque kind of way).

Mr. Edming said he hasn’t been in touch with anyone from the Trump campaign and doesn’t have any plans to attend any presidential campaign events. He’s not looking for a job in Washington, though he said “if a good promotion came along, I’d take a look at it.”
He said the news Tuesday that that Mr. Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, was charged with battery for an incident with a reporter only made Mr. Trump more appealing.
“I had one gal around here saying, ‘He’s attacking the women and he’s attacking all this,’ and I said, ‘You’re listening to the malarkey from the opposition,’” Mr. Edming said. “I think he’s going to make it.”
Mr. Edming said his position is common in his part of the state.
“I’ve talked to a kazillion people here in the last two to three weeks,” he said. “The more and more that they attack Trump, the more people are going to vote for him.”

 The guy from an unincorporated area of 92 people has talked to a "kazillion" and they all agree, the more that people get upset at The Donald for his sexual assaults, the more Jimmy Boy is on his side! 

Women need to know their place in Jimmy Boy's and The Donald's world and what do they have to get mad about anyway, he had his tic tacs! 

Ms. Riley, is running on a public education, save the land, and an equal opportunity for all.   My family has owned a cabin on Lake Owen in Cable, WI since the 1930's and I know first hand what an amazingly beautiful place the 87th Assembly district is. We can not continue to let big money treat the environment as a nuisance.     

Please Vote Elizabeth Riley on Tuesday.  "Like" her Facebook page, go to her website, send her a few dollars and give her some time walking the district during this beautiful last weekend. 

  

Another great woman that we can send to Madison is Nanette Bulebosh, who is a writer, teacher and community activist who will represent the 27th Assembly District more than Rep. Tyler Vorpagel (R- who ever heard of this guy).

While it is time to send more women to to Madison, it is also time to retire one.  Jessie Rodriguez in the 21st Assembly District.   No one exemplifies what is wrong with politics in Wisconsin more than Jessie Rodriguez,   She is elected to serve Scott Jensen, and not our state and certainly not her district. 

 It is time we stopped slashing our public schools budgets and start representing the people of Wisconsin and not the Billionaire education profiteers!  Let's send Jack Redmond to Madison next Tuesday!

The Noose Is Loose

The Trump effect is in full effect in Wisconsin.  At the Wisconsin Badgers football game on Saturday night, someone snuck a costume in to the game of President Obama in a jail uniform and a noose.

 Apparently when they saw these lunatics in the crowd, they went and asked them nicely toremove the noose.  The men agreed, and removed the noose but kept everything else the same.

That is not ok, nor is it covered by the first amendment.   The response should have been stronger and more sever, and many people let them know that.

The Reverend Alex Gee penned an open letter to the UW:

Free speech?! Ok, then allow me to speak freely...
I find it difficult to express the depth of my disappointment with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. If this is not hate speech ... a costume of a black president in a noose, then what is?!
Do I need to remind UW of what the noose represents? But wait, the UW has noted departments and courses in Afro-American studies (this was my department), history, sociology, ethnic studies, ethics, social work, law, religious studies, etc., which are able to explain the horrors of the noose.

This speech isn’t free by a long shot. I witnessed the community of families of color, local and out-of-state, refuse to send their kids to Madison because of the mock slave auction. I was there! That snub is one from which the UW has not yet fully recovered.
Take it from a veteran UW promoter, the nation is watching to see if this is a place where diversity is celebrated, or where racist acts are allowed without serious consequences. This issue is no longer merely about the comfort of students of color, it is now about the comfort of white families wanting their students to attend college where diversity is breathed like fresh air and young minds are trained for world-class leadership.
Are we really going to hide behind the free-speech rhetoric?
As a proud alumnus, it had been my hope that the Wisconsin Idea would provoke old-fashioned Wisconsin ingenuity in the area of race relations and diversity much as it has in social policy, patents and life-enhancing innovation.

Please, do not call your black friends to commiserate in private. If you really value diversity and the souls of people of color — do something. If you think this is appalling, say so — to someone at UW. This is a time where white people need to talk to white people about what’s really going on here. You can email Chancellor Rebecca Blank at: chancellor@news.wisc.edu, and email Athletic Director Barry Alvarez at wjd@athletics.wisc.edu.
The ball is in your court. I am not interested in more panel discussions, photo-ops or quick-and-dirty community forums in South Madison where you listen to heartfelt concerns and do very little in return.
This issue cannot be delegated to a few staff of color. It is not fair to hold them responsible for the campus when the entire campus is not yet committed to the ideals of diversity and inclusion. The community needs to know that this issue is being handled by the UW at the highest executive level and that resources of time and money are being put towards changing the toxic climate on campus.
Your action will determine how we tell our story about you. This is a perfect opportunity for a great Wisconsin Idea that will once again inspire the world. And if you choose to not make significant change at a very deep level, you will not only have angered a black man, you will have lost a fan.

Typically, our friends on the right, such as racist joke telling, old white guy in Green Bay Jerry Bader writes,

As offensive as this costume was, I believe our university must resist the desire to outlaw forms of speech and political dissent with which we disagree. We strive to build a campus community in which ideas and expression are exchanged freely, but also constructively, respectfully and in a manner that advances educational opportunities for our students.
Almost immediately social media lit up with the type of political polarity we’d expect from such an episode. Many posters felt the image of an African-American in a noose, let alone the President of the United States, should have meant outright ejection from the stadium. Others felt it was a violation of free speech rights to even take the noose. Here are words you won’t read or hear from me very often: I think the university got this exactly right.

 As has been correctly pointed out, prospective UW Students are closely watching to see how we handle this situation.  It has not been handled correctly yet, but it is not the least bit surprising that the right wing that has spent the last six years criticizing the UW System would be on board with something that cause our University system to bring in less students of color.  

Now is a good time to point out that prominent Republican Senator Steve nASS(R-refuses to pay child support), blasted UW's attempt to increase their diversity programs.

A Republican state senator says a new diversity outreach program at the UW-Madison is “sinister.”
Sen. Steve Nass made the comment in reaction to UW-Madison announcing its plans to improve the experiences of minorities on the flagship campus. The plan calls for having new students discuss social differences, a new cultural center for black students and increased opportunities to take ethnic studies courses.
Nass is vice-chair of the Senate’s committee on universities.
Nass said university leaders “constantly complain about lacking money” but “they never lack money for advancing new and more sinister ways of liberal indoctrination of students.”
He said the initiative isn’t about advancing critical thinking, but about “telling students to think and act in ways approved by the liberal leadership of our universities.”

David Clarke 'Murica's Sheriff!

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, like a spoiled child, is upset that others are getting more attention than he is.   That has led to as many appearances on Fox News as he possibly can(rumor has it he is still the Milwaukee County Sheriff and still being paid by the Milwaukee County taxpayers).  
As Capper pointed out recently, Clarke took to the safety of twitter to call for pitchforks and torches. While some people were upset that he was calling for basically armed resistance, what I saw was someone who did not understand that when people come with the pitchforks and torches, they will not be standing with him, they will be coming for him.

They will come for the people who are making $132000/yr with Cadillac Benefits who never seems to show up at his job because he is too busy promoting himself.   While he is busy flying to New York to be on Fox news or flying to Florida to campaign for The Donald, he has neglected on thing - his job!

While Terrill Thomas was a prisoner in the Milwaukee County Jail, he never made it out of the jail.  Terrill's death was ruled a homicide and the cause was dehydration.  Yes under Sheriff Clarke's rule, a human being was denied water for days until he finally died.

David Clarke apparently has not gotten enough attention for that because he went back to the safety of twitter:

But Wait there is even more yet!   Recently, the whole Cliven Bundy clan, was acquitted.   A quick rundown of the situation, Cliven Bundy was a cattle rancher who decided that he did not have to pay his bills and when the Federal Agents showed up, it turned into an armed standoff.

As many have pointed out, not just anyone can pull a gun on federal officers and live to tell about it.  What did America's Sheriff have to say about that?

Who are these "We The People" on the Bundy ranch?  

The man and woman said to have shot and killed two police officers and a third person in Las Vegas Sunday bragged that they had been involved in the recent standoff with the federal government at Cliven Bundy’s Nevada ranch, neighbors of the pair have told local Nevada papers. And early reports suggest the couple may have been motivated by anti-government extremism.
The couple shot two Las Vegas police officers who were eating lunch at a pizza restaurant, then minutes later killed a third person at a nearby Wal-Mart. The woman then killed the man before turning the gun on herself, in what police have said was an apparent suicide pact.

Is David Clarke really the role model and public servant the people of Milwaukee want?  It is time to hold the Sheriff accountable for his actions:

WISGOP "We're With Hate"!

Today The Donald will be back in Wisconsin, standing tall with his good friends and campaigning to try and be our next President.   Yes that is campaigning to be the next President of the United States.  The most powerful position in the world.   The person who will succeed President Barack Obama.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has looked at the people running and has thrown his support fully behind this guy.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan(R-Wall St), who can not seem to find the time to debate his opponent, did find the time to vote early for "our parties nominee.  The person who is third in line for the Presidency. did not even have the courage to say The Donald's name.   By the way, this is his parties nominee:

A witness who’s backing a woman’s child rape claims against Donald Trump also accused the Republican presidential nominee of sexually assaulting another, even younger girl.
Trump is due to appear in federal court Dec. 16 for a status conference after a judge allowed the lawsuit, which seeks $75,000 in damages, to move forward.
The alleged victim, identified in the suit as “Jane Doe,” claims Trump brutally raped her in 1994, when she was 13 years old, and threatened to harm her and her family if she talked.
Two other women — identified as “Joan Doe” and “Tiffany Doe” — have been added to the newer suit as witnesses.
Both witnesses say they worked as “party planners” for billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who paid them to “attract adolescent women” to events he hosted at the Wexner Mansion in New York.
Tiffany Doe says in court documents that she lured Jane Doe to a party with the promise of money and meeting contacts in the modeling industry.
She claims in the documents that she personally witnessed the girl being forced to engage in various sex acts with Trump and Epstein, who she said were aware of her age.
“I personally witnessed four sexual encounters that the Plaintiff was forced to have with Mr. Trump during this period, including the fourth of these encounters where Mr. Trump forcibly raped her despite her pleas to stop,” Tiffany Doe alleges.
Tiffany Doe said she also witnessed Trump forcing Jane Doe and a 12-year-old girl identified as “Maria” to perform oral sex on him and then physically abuse both of them afterward.
The woman said her job duties required her to “personally witness and supervise encounters between the underage girls that Mr. Epstein hired and his guests,” according to court documents.
Epstein, a financier who was also friends with Bill and Hillary Clinton, was convicted in 2008 of soliciting an underage girl for prostitution and served 13 months of an 18-year prison term.
Tiffany Doe said both Trump and Epstein threatened to harm Jane Doe if she ever revealed the physical and sexual abuse she endured — and she said the future GOP presidential nominee’s warning was particularly ominous.
“I personally witnessed Defendant Trump telling the Plaintiff that she shouldn’t ever say anything if she didn’t want to disappear like the 12-year-old female Maria, and that he was capable of having her whole family killed,” Tiffany Doe alleged.

Current United States Senator Ron Johnson (R-Class Rings), will also appear on stage with The Donald to talk about how important this guy becomes our next President:

Republican Assembly Majority Leader Robin Vos (R-Adultery) also firmly backs The Donald, I guess this endorsement helped him make up his mind:

Some others in Wisconsin like Pat Snyder, Jimmy Boy Edming(who made national news by jumping on the Trump train early), Mike Gallagher(the former Marine who supports the guy who said that he only likes the troops who weren't captured), Todd Novak, Glenn Grothman, Sean Duffy, among many others on the right in Wisconsin all support this thrice married guy who wrote this letter of sympathy to Kelly Preston and John Travolta when their teenage son tragically passed away:

I have always respected people who were loyal and faithful–which brings to mind Kelly Preston. A long time ago, before I was married, I met Kelly Preston at a club and worked like hell to try and pick her up. She was beautiful, personable, and definitely had allure. At the time I had no idea she was married to John Travolta.
In any event, my track record on this subject has always been outstanding, but Kelly wouldn’t give me the time of day. She was very nice, very elegant, but I didn’t have a chance with her, and that was that.
When I later found out she was married to John, I liked and respected her even more. Some people have values that matter to them, and she is one of them. Her loyalty was unwavering and I have always remembered that about her.
Being true to someone is very close to being true to yourself. That’s a valuable attribute in today’s world. I’m sure she was a wonderful mother to Jett and my thoughts are with her and her family after their terrible loss.

Yes the Wisconsin Republicans are ALL aboard the Trump Train, the problem is that train is rolling over, women, minorities, Muslims, disabled, children and anyone else who is not lily white middle age males.

Remember when you show up to vote, who is engineering the Trump train!

To Paul Tittl Your Life Is Worth Less Than $20

In Manitowoc, 17 people learned the hard lesson of trying to live under WISGOP rule.

MANITOWOC - Seventeen people suffering carbon monoxide poisoning in downtown Manitowoc were taken to local hospitals Monday morning, Manitowoc Fire Chief Todd Blaser said during a 2 p.m. news conference Monday.
Ten people — two families and two individuals — who resided on the upper level of the buildings on the block have been temporarily displaced. Seven people who were in Susie Kay's Café were also treated for carbon monoxide poisoning.
Four people were taken to Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee to be treated with a hyperbaric chamber. One was flown to Milwaukee by helicopter.

What does this story have to do with the WISGOP?  While it was never mentioned in the news story, Rep. Paul Tittle (R-American Federation for Children), is the owner of the building.   Rep. Tittl saved himself $20(being a fiscal conservative), and almost cost 17 people their lives!  

While government regulations and carbon monoxide detectors are not welcome, feel free to bring your gun(sign in Tittl's store front)!  




Apparently CCW does not protect you against slum lords who refuse to follow code and install simple carbon monoxide detectors.  Who Knew?

Luckily, for the people in the 25th Assembly District have someone running who values their life more than a green piece of paper with Andrew Jackson's picture on it - Ron Kossik!

Only One Choice In The 72nd

Currently, the 72nd Assembly District is being misrepresented by Scott Krug.   Scott Krug is a guy who will say anything to get elected, like he wont take daily per diems(he does big time), or that he believes in the Constitution(he doesn't), or that he is being endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters(he wasn't).




Yes the League of Conservation Voters endorsed the only true candidate in the race - David Gorski!

David Gorski is the Democratic Party nominee(link is external)(link is external) for Wisconsin's 72nd state assembly district race in central Wisconsin.
The race, along with the race featuring Lynn Utesch in Assembly District One in northeastern Wisconsin, is being watched by political insiders and clean water activists as a political compass(link is external)(link is external)pointing to the power of citizen action fighting Big Ag and its Republican protectors.
Citizen groups are fighting Big Ag's practice of directing millions of tons of liquid and aerilized cow manure into the environment, while Confined Agricultural Feeding Operations, (CAFOs), deplete groundwater using industrial, high capacity water well.

David Gorski will actually do what he says, which will be a nice change of pace for our friends in the 72nd.   Please "like" his facebook page, send him a few dollars and/or give him some time.  

Since Scott Krug will say anything to get elected, it is time to make sure he gets unelected because he will say anything!

The Bitch Deserved It

Most everyone not living under a rock, or in Waukesha, has seen the so called "pussy tape" of Republican Presidential Nominee The Donald, telling little Billy Bush how he likes to treat women he finds attractive.  

Our friends on the right's first line of defense was, that the Donald never actually did it but just liked to brag about committing sexual assault on random women(plus nothing like sexual assault to make little billy laugh his head off).  

However, as everyone could expect, this gave an opening for women, who Trump has actually sexually assaulted, to come forward with their story and come forward they did.

One in particular stood out, Adult Film Star Jessica Drake.  This accusation was different, because Trump did not deny doing it, he just basically said - The bitch deserved it:

Donald Trump on Monday addressed the latest accusations of inappropriate sexual contact made against him, saying of the accuser, an adult film performer, "Oh, I'm sure she's never been grabbed before."

Since she is an adult film star, The GOP Presidential nominee felt that he did nothing wrong because he is certain others have done the same.   If she chooses to do adult films she chooses to make her body public for anyone who wants to grab her.  

That is the man you are going to vote for for President?

Wiggy just cant seem to be bothered that Trump has attacked Ms. Drake, of course we know from past instances within the WISGOP, that they have always put politics over sexual assault.  

 Wiggy being a "#nevertrump" person shows it is not politics with him, he just does not care about women.

Christian Schneider - Zero Charm, Zero Facts

In the immortal words of Ronald Reagan, "There you go again" Christian.   Christian Schneider. who has an aversion to actual facts in his writing, has chosen another topic he has no knowledge of to address.

This time it is the world of college athletics.  

Within minutes, Hayes was being hailed for “speaking out” against the “injustice” suffered by college athletes.Yet this is perhaps the most obnoxious type of praise we heap on young people in modern culture.  Celebrating millennials for “speaking out” or “starting a conversation” merely praises them for exercising their right to speak — a right everyone already knows they have.  It’s a linguistic participation trophy.

An opinion writer berating other for having an opinion.   We are off to a nice start.

 Such undeserved celebration absolves the speaker from actually having to defend the position he or she is taking. 

Says the guy who broke the story about Kyle Wood and when he found out it was completely fictitious, deleted the story like it never happened.  

But his histrionic protest in this case leaves out one vital fact that he obviously can’t see. Literally, every student on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus would instantly switch places with Nigel Hayes. Every single one.

Yes, "every single one", when they were 12 years old maybe.  For instance, Kevin Stonewall has his sights set on curing cancer not shooting threes, I doubt he would want to "instantly switch places".  However in Schneider's world view minorities play sports and white people are the ones who cure diseases and run our Government.

   And last year, Hayes turned down the chance to play professional basketball for a living, where he would make millions of dollars doing what he ostensibly loves.  If he was truly living a life of abject poverty on campus, he could have easily rectified that by leaving before he graduated.(Hayes is a marginal NBA prospect, but many American players do very well overseas.)

Actually no he did not turn down millions of NBA dollars(he would not have been drafted in the first round), no he is not a "marginal NBA prospect"(he heads into this season as one of the top prospects in college),  Hayes could go overseas. but why would he go play in Turkey and not stay and get his degree and a shot at the NBA?  That involves sacrifice, hard work and a passion that is foreign to someone who has sold his soul for a paycheck.

But the bottom line is that athletes are paid — in the form of full tuition, room and board. In the case of an out-of-state student such as Hayes, this can run up to $200,000 for four years at UW. Just because this benefit doesn’t look like payment because it’s not money in his pocket doesn’t mean it’s not hard cash being shelled out by taxpayers and other students who pay their own tuition to subsidize his.

 The conference had $448.8 million in total revenue during a fiscal year ending June 30, 2015 — a figure that represents a nearly $110 million increase over what it pulled in during its 2014 fiscal year.As a result, the conference distributed roughly $32.4 million to each of its longest-standing 11 members, amounts that put those schools on par with amounts the Southeastern Conference distributed to each of its 14 member schools from conference revenue that totaled $527.4 million.

I am curious how much Mr. Schneider thinks the tuition would be if Nigel did not help bring in an extra $32 million plus.   Also, I am not sure Mr. Schneider knows, but the state only provides about 17 %  of the total funding of the UW Budget!   To think that Nigel's tuition being covered is "hard cash out of the taxpayers pockets" is downright laughable.

 And if rules mandating equity weren't implemented, this could give a major recruiting advantage to the schools that could pay the most.

There is already a major advantage to schools that pay the most.  The ones with multi million dollars facilities, the ones paying assistant coaches 7 figure salaries,  the ones with major television deals, all have a major recruiting advantages.

The unintended consequence of this would be to restrict access to those disadvantaged African-Americans who use their athletic scholarships to overcome their tough upbringings.

I recently attended a talk with Maurice Clarett and Chris Borland.  For those of you who do not know, Maurice Clarett was an All American RB and High School Player of  the year.  Clarett then took his "tough upbringing" to Ohio State where as a freshman he was a starter, and major part of the offense, on the National Championship team.  

Clarett, then successfully challenged the NFL rules of eligibility, and was allowed to enter the draft early.   The rules were in place for a reason, and he was not yet ready for the NFL and after a couple years and bouncing around leagues found himself out of football.

Clarett, ended up with no football, and no college degree and was left with major debt, and ended up in prison for 3 1/2 years for some very bad decisions.   He has since changed his life around and is a successful entrepreneur.  

However, the thing that stuck out to me, is Mr. Clarett told us that in his year at Ohio State, he took such rigorous classes as Officiating tennis and officiating swimming.  Without a strong family structure to advocate for you in college(remember the "tough upbringing" kids, then even if you graduate, your college education is not the same college education that others get.  

One interesting thing is Mr. Clarett told us that he had recently asked former LSU coach Les Miles, if he would let his kids take the same classes in their college career as Leonard Fournette was taking.  The answer was No!  

There’s a simple solution to all this, actually — any athlete who wants to give up his or her scholarship and work his or her way through college accumulating debt like every other student is free to do so.

There is even a better solution.  Allow the student athletes within the system, the ones who are living it everyday, to be students and athletes.   Let's be proud and listen when they become the student part of student athlete.

 Especially Nigel Hayes, who can say more in 144 characters than Christian Schneider has in miles of column inches!  

End Rashism Vote For Sarah!

There is a huge election in Wisconsin's 6th Congressional District.  It is currently being "represented" by national embarrassment Glenn Grothman.   Grothman is such a fool, that he recently made national news:

Yes Glenn way to represent. It is impressive that he can go be a career politician, do nothing in Washington and still catch the eye of comedians with his lunacy.  

Wisconsin can do so much better.  

As John Nichols put it recently in the Cap Times:

And Sarah Lloyd would seem to be an ideal challenger. 

A farmer who (with her husband Nels Nelson) runs a 400-cow dairy operation near Wisconsin Dells in Columbia County, Lloyd has deep roots in rural Wisconsin, where she has served as a member of the Columbia County Board. Yet she is, as well, a state and national leader regarding rural development, food policy and related economic issues. She has worked for many years with the Wisconsin Farmers Union and she represents Wisconsin dairy farmers on the National Dairy Board and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. She’s a member of both the Advisory Board for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources and the Citizens Advisory Committee for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems.

Lloyd is, as well, one of the most internationally experienced congressional candidates Wisconsin has seen since Petri and former Congressman Les Aspin began their careers in the 1970s. With degrees from Brown University, the UW-Madison and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, she has worked on sustainable forest management and development issues in Russia, Sweden and Finland. She’s fluent in Swedish, conversant in Russian, and more prepared than most sitting members of Congress to discuss global environmental and trade policy.
Lloyd is dramatically better prepared to serve in Congress than Grothman. And she is dramatically more serious about representing the 6th District, which includes farm country, small towns and industrial centers across a vast stretch of central and eastern Wisconsin.
A Democrat and an economic realist who recognizes that the policies of Republican and Democratic presidents have failed to effectively challenge the destructive influence of Wall Street speculators and multinational corporations, she has a 21st century worldview that rejects failed approaches to trade and job creation. On trade policy, in particular, Lloyd has the experience, and the vision, to recognize: “Trade deals must be designed and negotiated so they put workers, farmers, and communities first. They must have strong provisions to limit currency manipulation, which is a major factor in creating trade deficits.”
“Congress’ authority to set trade policy must be protected,” explained Lloyd, who pointed out: “‘Fast track’ trade authority is not acceptable. It undermines Congress’ role in protecting the interest of the American people.”
Lloyd is right on the specifics. More importantly, she gets the full picture, arguing, “Now is the time for all of us, as citizens, to push back and demand an economy that works for people and communities and not just for the multinational corporations.”
That’s a populist message that is in tune with the sentiments of a district where Democratic voters overwhelmingly backed Bernie Sanders in the April 5 primary and Republican voters displayed deep skepticism with regard to the elite consensus on economics.

Luther Olsen: My Beliefs Are None of Your Business!

Luther Olsen did something recently that many Republicans have refused to do - debate their opponent!   Mr. Olsen also showed why many Republicans are avoiding debates - they get exposed.

The candidates were asked a "gotcha" question of  "Do you support the Presidential candidate of your party"?  While Democratic challenger Brian Smith easily answered yes.  Then Luther Olsen, danced around the subject like he was trying to burn calories from judging a pie eating contest.

But Olsen dodged the question, essentially saying it wasn't anyone's business if he's going to vote for Trump, Clinton or someone else.
"They call it a secret ballot for a reason and really it's not my intention to tell you who I'm going to vote for honestly, because I'm running for the 14th Senate District and I think my body of work is what you need to look at and - whenever I'm asked - what I stand for," said Sen. Olsen. "What I say to people is - if we are a country of 300 million people, and if these are the best two we can come up with, I don't know what's going on here. Honestly I don't like either of them."
When asked point-blank by a second person if he supported Trump, Sen. Olsen said: "Have I endorsed him? No."
In a statement to 27 News, Smith accused Sen. Olsen of consistently lacking when it comes to transparency.
"Sen. Olsen's refusal to answer a simple question from a local constituent is just the latest example of him hiding from voters. After all of Donald Trump's attacks on women, veterans and people with disabilities, it's no surprise that career politicians like Sen. Olsen want to keep their support secret," wrote Smith.

By the way, remember when Senator Dale Ellis was the victim of an attack by the O'Keefe crew Project Veritas, and was actually forced to resign because he said this:

As O’Keefe points out in the video, candidates under state law are not allowed to coordinate the actions of a campaign with an independent group. But Ellis “appears to intend to create a PAC and not disclose his involvement” in order to attack state Rep. Penny Bernard Schaber, D-Appleton, his 19th Senate District opponent.
“I have a $400,000 committee, and Judi Rhodes will, I’m raising the money, and she will manufacture the crap,” Ellis says in the video sting. Rhodes is apparently Judith Rhodes Engels, who has handled fundraising for the Committee to Elect Republican Senators and founder of political consulting company Cross Rhodes Strategies, based in Cottage Grove.
“She’s (Rhodes Engels) good at what she does, so I told her, ‘Judi, if I raise $500,000 then you attack her,’” Ellis says in the video, again apparently referring to Bernard Schaber. “I don’t want to attack her. I want Judi, somebody else to attack.”

Guess who has hired Cross Rhodes Strategies?   Here is a hint, starts with an L ends with Uther Olsen!  

The choice in Senate District 14 is very clear.....Brian Smith will make a great Senator.   Like his Facebook page, check out his website, send him a few dollars and/or go knock some doors or make some calls for him.  

O' Darling!

Sen. Alberta Darling, leader of the exclusive club "Wisconsin women for Trump", gave an interview to Mike Gousha, and it was a doozy.

In a Sunday interview on “UpFront with Mike Gousha,” Darling said that Trump’s policies align with women’s interests and argued that undecided conservative voters in Wisconsin will come around to Trump as the election nears.
“When you listen to the policy discussions that Trump has, he is on point with what women want. They want a secure country for their children and for their families,” Darling said. “They think national defense is extremely important, especially since a lot of the terrorism has started to hit our streets in the United States.”

"Trump is on point with what women want"  I assume she means that women want a guy to suck on some tic tacs before they get attacked.    As The Donald let us know, that is his main strategy.  Luckily Peter Griffin was there to film it for us. 

Then Darling added fuel to the ignorance fire when she defended these comments:

Host Mike Gousha asked whether Trump’s lewd comments about women, showcased in a 2005 video, bothered Darling. She said that the comments did bother her, calling them “indefensible.” But she noted that they were made 11 years ago, and Trump has “since married and has a wonderful little child.”

I know it never stops any of the WISGOP from speaking about things they have no idea about, but a quick Google search tells us that not only was The Donald and Melania married at the time if this video, she was pregnant with that "wonderful little child"at the time.  He actually met Melania, while he was married to his second wife, and on a date with another woman. 

I wonder if Ms. Darling would feel comfortable leaving her daughter alone in a room with Mr. Trump or if her son acted like The Donald around women.
