Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.

Martin Luther King, Jr., Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?, 1967.

  1. Considering how stupid that statement is - those of us who are rather fond of MLK ignore it.

It needs no further comment. Particularly when we recall that King was a REPUBLICAN.

It's one of the reasons why some of us even say nice things about JFK and even Bobby.

No doubt, if they had enjoyed the ripeness of age, they would have sounded as bad as Teddy did.

We do the same for the idiotic things that Barry Goldwater said in his late years.

And none of us cared to hear from Nixon or Ford.

Sadly, things are so bad right now, it is actually refreshing to see Clinton.

  2. LOL, in other words, you have to ignore King's words to justify your fantasy that he was a Republican. How pitiful for you.
