Oh! The Horrors of Obamacare!

Jake at his Economic TA Funhouse is having fun tearing apart the false arguments of Scott Walker and friends as they try to do a smear and fear number on the Affordable Health Care Act. My favorite snippet in which Jake repeats their talking point and responds in italics is this:
Individuals will be dropped from their employer’s health plans. It is estimated that 100,000 individuals will be involuntarily dropped from employer sponsored health insurance. (And those employers will now have more funds available to pay employees, expand, or not deal with the uncertainty of higher insurance costs in the future. Again, this is bad because....?)
Do read the whole thing. You can thank me later.

  1. So you agree that when government policy reduces costs for corporations, they pass some of the savings on to employees in the form of higher wages and/or expanded employment?

Can't wait for your post arguing for a repeal of the corporate income tax!

  2. You're right, Jeremy.

Businesses have had every break, from not paying taxes to getting free healthcare via not offering their employees any and sending them to BadgerCare for their coverage.

Yet they only want to hog those windfalls and not create any new jobs. But at least this way, hundreds of thousands of people will now have coverage, which is a good thing.

  3. And oh yeah, the Walker Administration lied about and edited the actual report, which showed that Obamacare is an extremely good thing in Wisconsin. How do we know this? because the author of the report says that's what they did!

The more you know, the less you buy the GOP's lies and bullshit.
