CRG Removes All Doubt

There is a maxim that has been contributed to Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain and numerous others that goes:
It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
The completely inappropriately-named special interest group Citizens for Responsible Government has successfully removed all doubt about themselves.

On Wednesday morning, the Clowns of Reprehensible Gimmickry decided to announce that they were going to "assist" a group of people that wanted to recall Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic. Their contention was that Dimitrijevic was apparently being somehow irresponsible by advocating for and voting for fixing Scott Walker's illegal 2011 budget.

This is, to say the least, extremely ludicrous. First of all, they are getting their undies all knotted up over a $7.49 increase. That comes to 64 cents a month or two cents a day. That is not exactly what any rationale person would say is worthy of disrupting the normal democratic process.

To further show their foolishness, they totally ignore the fact that Dimitrijevic is a wildly popular official who won her last election with 73% of the vote. Furthermore, she has won numerous awards and honors, including being on the cover of Wisconsin Woman this year and winning the Eleanor Roosevelt Award last year and being named the Best Supervisor two years in a row in a survey by the Shepherd Express.

Dimitrijevic has also brought such useful, responsible and money-saving ideas like having campaign financial statement put online and Green Print legislation.

Maybe CRG is still upset from having Dimitrijevic condemn the incident from last year when one of their disciples physically attacked two union workers, including a woman.

Actually, the truth is that Dimitrijevic is already being considered a strong candidate for county executive. CRG is only pulling this minor publicity stunt in a lame effort to discredit her before her campaign can start to take off with even greater momentum.

Another reason why this is nothing more than in inane exercise in futility is the fact that they tried the same thing last year against Supervisors Theo Lipscomb and Patricia Jursik. Those recall efforts were even less successful than the two they tried against Governor Doyle. They never really got off the ground, nor did they appear to have any influence on how these two supervisors voted. However, CRG did get their way for the most part and Walker's budget was relatively intact.

The result is a projected $8 million deficit which is guaranteed to hike up the taxes in 2012. If they were truly for a responsible government, they would have gone after Walker years ago.

But it is not surprising that they don't live up to their moniker.

Like I said at the beginning of this piece, there is no doubt about whether they are fools.

  1. Let me get this straight, if I am or represent organized crime and I threaten a sitting politician with a recall because they did not vote the way I wanted them to, wouldn't I be violating the RICO laws as it relates to racketeering? CRG is fronted by a slumlord named Orville Seymour, who if you look him up on ccap you will find a litany of charges and legal claims filed against him due to his slumlord enterprize. Conclusion; CRG is an extreme right wing group with a tiny minority voice that is using threats to try to polarize politicians from representing their constituency. Isn't that racketeering under the RICO act? What's even more ironic is that the group who is against tax increases wants to waste millions of tax payer dollars on recall elections instead of just waiting for the next election cycle to begin. Recall elections should be declared unconstitutional because of their effects to polarize politicians and undermine the democratic process. Think about it, that's why we have short two and four year terms to begin with!

  2. CRG was also instrumental in getting Chris Liebenthal investigated for illegal political blogging, which resulted in the DA's office finding evidence of blogging and an HR issue for Capper. Does a 20 day suspension ring a bell?

I can see why Capper is bitter. He had to shell out money to that moneygrubbing defense attorney.

    FUCK YOU CHRIS LIEBENTHAL!

  3. "illegal political blogging"

Wow! Talk about heinous crimes! The man is an absolute threat to society! Why, the very thought of someone engaging in such despicable activity makes my skin crawl! If ever there was a good reason for re-instituting the death penalty in Wisconsin, this is it. Please excuse me, I need to go lock my doors and windows.

  4. Anonymous, show some proof. Back up these claims.

As for your claims that Chris is bitter, I'd suggest taking a good long look in the mirror, because you seem to be awfully bitter and angry.

  5. Anon 1150: A, the DA did not find that Chris was blogging. When pressed by Chris's attorney, the DA explained that Chris's computer showed evidence he visited websites, like the JS or Milwaukee Magazine, that may have had political content.

B, Chris was not suspended for 20 days, or even one. If someone out there is telling you that he was, they are lying to you. Demand proof.

  6. If in fact you believe Capper was suspended I would love to see the evidence. As far as I know the end result of this investigation was absolutely nothing, which I also am sure will be the result of this recall.

  7. Some anonymous idiot/CRG supporter can't get the facts straight. Go figure. Perhaps he/she was thinking of the 20+ days capper has been furloughed because of Scott Walker's irresponsible budgeting.
