Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare will eliminate 51 positions in southwest Wisconsin as it transfers its transcription services to a Madison firm. While Walker is making the occasional in state appearance to glad hand it with some campaign donor and falsely claim he is creating some potential jobs that may or may not become reality someday, the sad truth is that real people are losing real jobs here and now.
“This was a very difficult decision,” Joe Kruse, Mayo-Franciscan’s chief administrative officer said in a statement issued Monday. “Our transcription staff produces high-quality work and has served our patients and our organization well.”
Medical transcriptionists convert doctors’ dictation into written reports, as well as review and edit medical documents created with speech recognition technology.
