A total of 27 jobs in central Wisconsin will be lost as a result of a restructuring by Sentry Insurance, according to a news release from the company. And he was ripping on President Obama for creating jobs? Really?
The company, headquartered at 1800 Northpoint Drive in Stevens Point, announced Wednesday it is restructuring its strategy for selling personal lines policies, and as a result will be reducing the number of sales agents outside of the region. The restructuring also will affect 144 home-based sales positions across 10 states.
“The decision to restructure is largely based on the cost associated with our business model of using employed agents working out of their homes,” the company said in an email.
Sentry officials were unavailable for further comment when contacted Thursday.

Scott Walker really is a disastrous failure at job creation, and he tries to deflect the public's perception of his performance off by trying to blame Obama. The economy is making a slow recovery nationally based on stimulous money, but Wisconsin's recovery is really lagging behind.
ReplyDeleteWalker's idea of job creation would get rid of all union jobs, being replaced by low-wage/low-benefit McJobs. More profit for employers to pocket that way.
cap, will yu post when jobs are created in wisconsin ?
ReplyDeleteIsn't Sentry Insurance the company that made a habit of rewarding Governors, Lieutenant Governors and State Senators who voted the right way with cushy jobs after they left office?
