Education Reform Vultures

By Jeff Simpson

We have brought you the stories of the disgusting acts of the "education reform" leaders(term used loosely), in WI.  From all of Scott Jensen's life work, to Jim Bender trying to get the height, weight and phone numbers of our children and even has trickled down to Zeus Rodriguez, the snake oil salesman from Milwaukee wanting to cash in on Texas school children now.

They are at it again, this time the education "reformers" are looking at ways to cash in on the riots in Baltimore:

Who sent this stupid tweet(since deleted)?  That would be the Jeanne Allen, senior fellow, President Emeritus and founder of the "Center for Education Reform".

Thar's GOLD in them thar classrooms!   And Jeanne wants to get her fingers on it as badly as Scott and Jim do!   It is unfortunate that our children are being used as collateral damage for their greed!

  1. We owe our thanks to Jeanne, for giving away the game in that one tweet. These people don't care about helping communities or educating children, they just want to GET PAID, and they don't have to deal with the consequences they leave behind

  2. Like Baltimore's public schools have championed minority achievement. In 2013, according to the U.S. Department of Education, only 16% of the eighth graders in the Baltimore City Public Schools scored at or above grade-level proficient in the NAEP reading test. That same year, only 13% of the eighth graders in the Baltimore City Public Schools scored at or above grade-level proficient in math. Teachers Unions Uber Alles!

    1. Im guessing the Baltimore schools are underfunded and poverty is high, but still those numbers surpass what Zeus Rodriguez did and people hail him as a charter school hero.

  3. You would be guessing wrong, Jeff. Baltimore public schools ranked third in the country in per-pupil spending, behind only New York and Boston. Yet … 55 percent of Baltimore fourth graders scored “below basic” in reading.

    1. Or not:

Richetta showed 11 News her facility. Music classes are held on the auditorium stage because there is no classroom for music. Auditorium chairs are falling apart.

The pipes in the bathroom are continually breaking and leaking. Counselors use the hallway as a classroom because there is no office space for them. One stairwell was turned into an office.

"The environment sometimes is not conducive to learning because of the facility problems like the lack of air conditioning or not having appropriate space to work in," Richetta said.
