The Wreck Of Scooter Fitzgerald: The Video!

This video could make one think that soon-to-be-former Senator Scott Fitzgerald is feeling the pressure of having to face a recall. It's definitely not the behavior of a leader or that of an adult:

It's also fun to see Sen. Erpenbach doing some serious verbal karate on Fitzgerald and the other Republicans.

  3. I hate to say it but I'm afraid Kathleen Falk made herself unelectable when she made that vow to WEAC. If she wins the nom, Walker and the republicans will harp on her vow 24/7 all over the airwaves. IMO, she made a fatal blunder and should withdraw from the race because she's toast if she wins the primary.

    1. They were saying about that even before she made the pledge. They would have said it even if she never made the pledge at all.

But think about this, the unions are made up of people, working men and women of Wisconsin. Walker is tied in to out of state corporations. Which do you think is worse?

    2. Which is worse is obvious. My view (above) is based on the fact that Walker will outspend his opponent by a huge margin (perhaps 10 to 1 or more). If Falk is his opponent, voters will be incessantly barraged with ads that factually say she pledged to veto the state budget unless collective bargaining is restored. I don't think her pledge will play well with the swing voters who will decide the election.
Of course, whoever is the Dem candidate, Walker will accuse her (no males in the race so far) of being beholden to unions but there's a big difference between making a claim and being able to back it up with an explicit pledge that was probably recorded on video footage.

    3. The Republicans were already doing that before she made her pledge, and they would have done so even if she had not done it.

And after all, it was Act 10 that started the whole mess. Falk is making it clear she is siding with the workers instead of out of state big-money corporate interests.

  4. I am a worker. I do not belong to a union, but I know that my interests as a worker will only be defended by unions. There is no question of 'worse', because the Corporations/Unions meme is an utterly false equivalency. Unions may be imperfect, but they represent *me*, *us*. We need to stop running from the support of unions and allowing this foolish equivalence to persist!

  5. I was on the fence about Kathleen Falk, but now, with Fitzgerald hating her, she is sounding better and better.

  6. +1 to Anonymous at 5:49. Fitz may have just made Falk electable, after all. The Dems in the Senate need to keep poking him again and again to keep giving us great video like this.

  8. I loved the part about Falk actually hugging Mary Bell. Really? Does that bother Fitz? Good.
