Rep. BROUN: God's word is true. I've come to understand that. All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell. And it's lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior. You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I've found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth. I don't believe that the Earth's but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That's what the Bible says.
And what I've come to learn is that it's the manufacturer's handbook, is what I call it. It teaches us how to run our lives individually, how to run our families, how to run our churches. But it teaches us how to run all of public policy and everything in society. And that's the reason as your congressman I hold the Holy Bible as being the major directions to me of how I vote in Washington, D.C., and I'll continue to do that.
Then there is the reality version for the rest of us.
Bill Nye: Denial of evolution is unique to the United States. I mean, we're the world's most advanced technological—I mean, you could say Japan—but generally, the United States is where most of the innovations still happens. People still move to the United States. And that's largely because of the intellectual capital we have, the general understanding of science. When you have a portion of the population that doesn't believe in that, it holds everybody back, really.
Evolution is the fundamental idea in all of life science, in all of biology. It's like, it's very much analogous to trying to do geology without believing in tectonic plates. You're just not going to get the right answer. Your whole world is just going to be a mystery instead of an exciting place.
Two things. It serves the interests of the "puppet masters" that most people in America do not actively attend church and are unfamiliar with reading the bible themselves. They are content to get a 'religious feeling" on Holidays and by supporting and PUBLICLY agreeing with conspicuous religionists. This puts the religionists in charge of re-writing, or at least selecting, what that religion will be. The bible has a HUGE (huge) number of edicts, observations, laws, customs, expectations etc etc. If you want to condemn violence and call for an end to wars - look to the bible. If you want to beat your wife and kids, smite and degrade your enemy of choice and feel good about it - look to the bible. Either way, you can hold the bible aloft and claim it as your guide. The heads of any given church pick, choose and "interpret". So this amounts to the most powerful of Shadow Governments.
ReplyDeleteWhat these people are working for is not (as they say) a return to the 1950s or EVEN the 1850s, but instead a return to the much much earlier days of Divine Right Kingship. Look it up if you never heard of that justification for power in the hands of the be-robed few.
SECOND!
and this is worthy of note -
Earlier today the Church of LDS put out a communique to its people (via their own "government" they call the 12 Apostles, and I have to say I wonder what the REAL Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Simon Peter et al think about these guys usurping the name of their band for their own self-aggrandizing purposes, pretty arrogant offensive stuff) Anyways, they (The LDS)are planning a significant worldwide expansion of influence. Mobilizing a new influx of missionaries, getting serious on the grassroots outreach thing. They said this is because "The Lord" has expressed a need to step up his game and "needs" more Mormons in more worldwide faces ASAP. God tells these old guys what he needs, and they get to control everyone else.
Pretty slick operation.
Third point for this evening. Romney IS NOT okay with a PBS TV channel, yet he IS OKAY with an LDS TV Channel. If you watch it, you can see their announcements of global expansion. I did.
The Mormons are coming! The Mormons are coming! (For all you modern Paul Reveres, the new code is - one if by Land, two if by Sea, three if by Cable)
Slam the doors in their Mormon-y faces while you still can.
For anyone who doesn't believe there is a concerted effort between the GOP and Catholic/Evangelical/Mormon faiths to create a theocracy in the US of A, you'd better head to the library and check out "The Family" authored by Jeff Sharlet. Truly frightening and it's playing out before our very eyes.
ReplyDeleteWhat'll be really interesting, is, that, should Romney/Ryan be elected, the various religious factions will begin warring between themselves...just like in radical Islamic countries.
i agree. That is one of THE most underreported stories out there right now. these guys are insane.
