Back to Work Budget

By Jeff Simpson

Everyone knows that Paul Ryan (R- Wall St.) has released his austerity budget he calls "path to poverty". Luckily for America there is an alternative that the Progressive Caucus has released called the "Back to Work" Budget!

Congressional progressives have taken a Keynesian approach to the debt: Spend money now — taking advantage of low interest rates on Treasury bonds — and position the United States for long-term debt reduction.
Overall, the Back to Work budget increases spending by more than $2.2 trillion over the next ten years. This includes more than $156 billion for clean energy efforts, over $230 billion for education, training and social services, $312 billion for income security programs like the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), another $156 billion for health care programs, and $1 trillion in new infrastructure spending, meant to repair old structures (roads, pipes, bridges) and build new ones.
To pay for this, House Progressives propose a full overhaul of the federal tax code, with a new set of tax increases on the wealthiest Americans. For income over $250,000, taxes would revert to Bush-era rates (the Progressive Caucus maintains Bush rates for the remaining 98 percent of taxpayers).

Let's see if the Sunday Morning news shows, give this as much press as they gave pink slip paulie!

  1. Republicans hate Keynesian economics because it accurately predicts how capitalist economies react to government spending. They prefer the “Feel Good” economic philosophy of Supply Side Economics to justify massive tax cuts to upper incomes, while hiding the fact that the tax cuts result in massive budget deficits.

Remember how Romney planned to balance the budget by cutting taxes. The Congressional Budget Office reported it was a fantasy that the budget would balance with Romney’s plan. The Republicans were successful at stifling the CBO report, while Republicans remained in denial that their economic philosophy is delusional.

  2. Is this post for real?

Where is your post reiterating Tom Barrett and Jim (veto) Doyle's assertion that, "Wisconsin will become the wild wild west if CCW is enacted"?

Obviously they are of the same ideology as this hate blog. Clueless, sums it up for those who base their comments on facts.

Apologies graciously accepted, unless you can back up your leaders assertions.

A woman is alive today thanks to a responsible citizen and Scott Walker's signing of the CCW bill almost two years ago. The one Jim Doyle Vetoed, twice.

When you post facts to back up your emotional rants is when I will consider this blog factual.

Keep on hating hard working Americans, hate kills the voice who claims they are supporting us.

Awesome, just awesome. I honestly wish I knew who you were, so I could personally award you with a trophy for the most mind-numbingly bizarre, non-topical, WTF screed I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Do yourself a favor. Reread what you wrote, and ask yourself this, "Does one sentence of what I just wrote make even a modicum of sense?" If the honest answer to that question is yes, then you likely have a serious undiagnosed cognitive disorder. Of course, there is another very real possibility.

Did you, by chance, miss a Haldol injection today? I'm no doctor, but that little diatribe sure has all the earmarks of Schizophrenia. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001925/
I only say this because I care, but perhaps you need professional help? Best of luck to you, and just to be on the safe side, avoid sharp objects and situations that might lead to sensory overload.

  3. Im sorry what does CCW have to do with a federal budget?

At the risk of getting off topic, Id like to ask Bo Morrison what he thinks of the CCW law but he is dead....

  4. Look up the story of 28-year-old Coleman Dybul from Adams County. He shot his girlfriend to death after she startled him when he was asleep. He kept a shotgun by his bed. Had the girlfriend carried a concealed weapon, she could have shot her boyfriend before he shot her.

Can someone tell me who was the bad guy and who was the good guy? Or gal?

  5. According to the first anon, the good guy in that story is Scott Walker and the bad guy is Cog Dis.

  6. I see Coleman Dybul used a shotgun like Joe Biden suggested for home invaders. If Dybul was a Republican, he would have used a Bushmaster like Nancy Lanza kept to protect herself. A Bushmaster would have made it easier to shut up the kid crying in the other room.
