To Doors! To Phones! The Koch Heads Are Coming!

It is no deep dark secret that Scott Walker and the Republicans are the bought and paid for property of the Koch Brothers and other big money special interest groups that look to take over Wisconsin, take away our rights and our livelihoods, rape the land of all our natural resources and make Wisconsin a wasteland for no other purpose than to make themselves even richer and more powerful.

We've known it for over a year when Walker was licking the boots of the caller he thought was David Koch.

Walker's servitude to the Kochs was further evidenced earlier this year when Koch was boasting about his level of influence at a party in Florida:

Asked about his efforts to sway public opinion, Koch acknowledges his group is hard at work in places such as Wisconsin, where Gov. Scott Walker is facing off with public unions and grappling with a likely recall vote.
"We're helping him, as we should. We've gotten pretty good at this over the years," he says. "We've spent a lot of money in Wisconsin. We're going to spend more."
By "we" he says he means Americans for Prosperity, which is spending about $700,000 on an "It's working" television ad buy in the state. It credits Walker's public pension and union overhaul with giving school districts the first surpluses they've seen in years. The unions and the left see things differently.
Besides the illegal push by AFP, we know that the Kochs have also been pouring money into the race through the Republican Governors Association and the propagandist groups like MacIver and Wisconsin Reporter.

As sickening as what we've been through has been, that's only the beginning.

It has now been disclosed that these elitist bastards are sending in an army of outside agitators to wage a ground war against our citizenry:

AFP said as part of their tour, 70 staff members would be recruiting volunteers to call voters and canvass neighborhoods to promote Walker's achievements over the past two years. In a release, the group said they would launch similar efforts in other states later this year.
More needs to be done but this tour is a chance to celebrate what has already been accomplished and show that Wisconsin is ready for more," Hilgemann said in his statement.
Let me tell you, seventy people is a lot of manpower and money to be throwing at one state.

But that doesn't mean that they will find an easy go of it.  We Wisconsinites, we have sisu!  And we know what we have to do.

We, and I mean each and every one of us, have to hit the streets and win this state back one person at a time.  That means canvassing.  That means phone banking.  That means talking to our families, our friends and our neighbors about the importance of this election.

We have to point out that Walker's agenda is not only not working, it's making things exponentially worse.  We have to remind them that taxes didn't go down, they went up.  We have to remind them that jobs didn't go up, they went down, more than anywhere else in the entire country!  We have to remind them that there is a reason why Walker has a legal defense fund, and it's not because he wants to cooperate.

It's been shown in numerous studies that one-to-one contact, such as the knocking on doors and the phone banking, helps increase voter turnout by as much as 30%.  We've come this close now, we can't give up or get tired yet.  Think of the energy you had, the anger and fear that propelled you then, and reach deep for it now.  We have just over two weeks to get this done.

And never has been each and every vote counted as much as the ones we will cast on June 5, Wisconsin's Independence Day!

My union brothers and sisters can find a list of volunteer centers here.

The recall headquarters are also looking for help.  You can find them here.

Let's do this!

  1. Although I live far away now, I grew up in Wisconsin. I do believe you can recall Walker! Don't lose faith. I would like to send the little bit of money I can spare. Where's the best place to send it? Where could it do the most good at this point? Thank you.

    3. Thank you for the advice about donating. I am always hesitant to use my credit card online, but my brother is braver in this regard. I will call him and ask if he will make a donation for me today, and I will send him a check to cover it.

I don't want to wake up on June 6th and ask, "Did I do my best to help?"

      Keep positive. Walker must go.
