The Moment you have all been waiting for....the primary is over, the race to replace Scott Walker has been decided as Tom Barrett/Mahlon Mitchell have emerged the victors. Now instead of the democrats infighting, it is time to turn our attention to Scott Walker. Scott Walker has spent an unprecedented, $20 million ALREADY on ads and has yet to move the needle. Now its our turn to introduce the real Scott Walker to the state. Not the fantasy one that Macgyver keeps trying to make.
Here is the first stop on The Real Scott Walker Express(by the way do not forget he stopped our high speed rail system from being built and costs us thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars, but thats another story).
Check back here often, the Real Scott Walker Express will stop here almost everyday, and the post that Capper is working on now will be a MUST READ!
How much of the job stagnation do you think can be explained by business uncertainty about who will be in charge of the government after June 5? If I ran a business, I wouldn't add jobs until I knew whether the state government was going to be business friendly.
The chaos began when the 14 cowards fled to Illinois rather than face the responsibility to vote their conscience, and it has continued through the Supreme Court recount and the various recalls. If Walker doesn't win by a substantial margin June 5, there'll be lawsuits and recount demands. If he does win by a substantial margin, there'll be other, as-yet-unforeseen efforts to monkey-wrench the state government. If Barrett wins, at least business owners will have a clear signal that Wisconsin prefers the Doyle style of open hostility to business, but that won't help the jobs picture either.
Walker isn't killing this state. The folks who refuse to accept the results of the November 2010 election are killing this state.
thats an easy answer WATF...0 jobs. if there is a CEO with high demand for their product and are holding out meeting that demand because of "uncertainty' over whether scott walker will be re elected or not, then please let the Board of directors know so they can immediately fire that CEO. Also please tell anyone who uses that as an excuse to take econ101.
As for the election, it will be close however it goes, Are you trying to imply that if barrett wins a close call the repubs will not file the EXACT same lawsuits and recount demands?
By the way the "chaos" started when Walker dropped the bomb!
How many days has Walker spent out of the state begging for money from FL,MO,TX, NY,NV millionaires? He's been out of state for far more days than the Fab 14 ever were.
WATF. If I owned a company, I'd be asking questions such as "will there be demand for my product?", "can people actually afford my product?", "will my family be secure there?", "will my children get a good education?", "will my family be exposed to environmental contaminants and run higher, or lower risks of asthma?". I would weigh the answers to these sorts of question against the answers I get from other states and make a business decision based on that.
The fact that many companies already present in Wisconsin are closing their doors and laying employees off suggests that the economy may be more complex than you would like to think and that maybe, just maybe, Walker's supposed "business-friendly policies" aren't actually that effective after all.
Finally, if it really is the 'uncertainty' that is causing all of the problems and hemorrhaging jobs out of the state, then surely this is STILL Walker's fault as he is the man in charge (remember that old "the buck stops here" thingy?) If he can't negotiate his way through modern politics, then maybe he should find something else to do and leave the task to someone more suited.
