BMO Harris Bank is eliminating 74 positions in Cedarburg and Sun Prairie as part of about 200 job cuts.Maybe we can start asking the rest of the country, which is having real job gains, to send us food baskets out of sympathy.
BMO, which acquired M&I Bank in 2011, told state officials 37 people would lose their jobs at BMO Harris Bank Mortgage Investment Management in Cedarburg and another 37 jobs would be cut at the bank's Sun Prairie Data Center.
"The employees who are losing their positions at the Cedarburg and Sun Prairie locations have roles primarily focused on data processing and underwriting," BMO Harris spokesman Jim Kappel said Thursday. "There are also some additional reductions that are taking place. The other reductions represent mostly jobs in corporate functions that were overlapping with others resulting from integration efforts. The reductions will take place over the coming five months."
The 200 job reductions are "throughout our geography," Kappel said.

BMO is switching up the signs at all the western WI M&I locations.
ReplyDeleteI think the cuts from BMO is kinda funny, since M&I originally started firing one full-time person with benefits and replacing them with two part-timers at multiple locations across Wisconsin.
This was a good purchase for BMO.
It's unfortunate that our banking system is so de-stabilized that a Canadian bank is buying up all the local banks. You see, the Canadian government didn't push them to make loans to people who could not afford home ownership.
ReplyDeleteWow. I didn't know anyone was stupid or racist enough to still buy that line.
DeleteI thought Canada was too bankrupt from their socialist healthcare to have banks available to buy up U.S. "local" banks?
DeleteHere's a bit of education for you. I know, its against everything you believe in because it doesn't blame Walker or the Koch brothers, but tell me its not true. Unlike two decades ago, these videos are accesible to all, so you can't re-invent your own version of history. Well, you can keep trying.

Canadian banks don't fund the health care, that would be the government. Feel free to move there if you think its a better system.
I worked with the loss control specialist BMO brought in after the takeover, his job was to minimize the loss on all the bad loans they weren't able to dump off on the government before the bubble burst. His staff are part of the layoffs in Cedarburg as he has liquidated most of the foreclosures. I helped build his home, remodel the office space in Cedarburg, and renovate some of the properties to ready them for market. Tell me again I don't know.
DeleteI once raked the leaves of a veterinarian, but that didn't make me qualified to perform surgery.
DeleteRenovating is another term for flipping. Looks like IMBAR is ready to take some profit off others misfortune to me.
DeleteCedarburg is such a white upper middle class town, IMBAR really stands out as a class act.
IMBAR is just another tool that took the white flight.
You debate about as well as Obama.
ReplyDeleteAnd you do the Gish Gallop as well as Romney.
Deletelol, not bad. But I did use actual footage of the words coming right from there own mouths. So I can understand how its hard to argue against that.
DeleteThe Breitbarted vid? Anything can be cut and spliced to change the original meaning, something the right wing excels at.
Deleteyes, one side seems to excel at creating their own meaning.
DeleteGhettos are created when people turn their backs on problems.
ReplyDeleteThat rascist person turned his back on Milwaukee and ran with open arms to the burbs.
Patriotic.
Put a name to your post. I grew up in Berry land, You know, what you refer to as the ghetto. I live in Brown Deer. I actually moved from Ozaukee county to Milwaukee county. Regrettable, but true.
DeleteGovernment creates ghettos, not people.
Government is people.
DeleteYou helped create it all, and now you follow the money into the burbs.
And tell me what your solution is. Vote democrat and hope for a bigger handout?
DeleteAnd tell me what your solution is. Vote Republican and hope you never pay taxes ever?
DeleteHey, go flip a house and make an extra $50k on $2k of time and material. You got the extra cash to do it. You are special.
You are an owner. You should be lord of your neighborhood with your highness. Everyone should model your way of life perfected.
We all love the way you "home" builders have artificially inflated the market and raked a lot of people over the coals.
